Hi , I live in Paphos so naturally this caught my attention and yes it is a building site I've been here over 23 years now and the harbour has been dug up three times in that space of time. They always seem to start digging just before the summer season starts LOL coral bay is also under rubble right now but in their defence the town is a bit tidier than before.Twenty years ago the harbour and bar street was buzzing but systematically the police shut down the bars one by one and then COVID decimated what was left so I guess this is an attempt to revive the industry. The big hotels provided "all inclusive" which killed off most of the small bars and restaurants which is sad. On the plus side Cyprus is beautiful out of the towns and you need to visit the small villages to really see true culture . The weather is great and yes it rains in the winter with snow on the mountains. But all in all it's a nice place to visit cheap, friendly and safe but sadly they don't always know how to bring out the best of it.

We went to Paphos last year and was skeptical but loved it, funnily enough we didnt go looking at bins and run down businesses out of season 😭 ..Paphos is improving all the time and having money spent on it all the time, all the pavements and roads and landscaping and not a pointless cycle lane in sight! 😬

Probably because Sydney is an international working Capital City and there is always construction, urban renewal and street maintenance going on somewhere downtown. Cyprus on the other hand is literally just one big tourist resort catering to international holiday makers, so those obtrusive construction works that have literally taken over the entire downtown will have a very negative impact on tourism (which Cyprus lives on) due the ambience and amenity of the area being ruined, if not the personal safety of the tourists put in danger too due to the evidently shoddy OH&S practices...

I know you’ll maybe recognise my name from your comments section and so therefore you’ll know how much I love Gran Canaria. Hiya Lee. As a regular visitor to Cyprus, 4 times a year, being out of season a lot of places do close down and it does look a little depressing at times. The work going on in Paphos town will be mostly finished in the next few months and is a great improvement to what it was before. Pavements you couldn’t walk on etc. Don’t bother going to Larnaca there really isn’t much there. Someone mentioned that you should have gone to Ayia Napa but that really does close down in the winter months. Anyway still enjoyed the vlog today. 👍👍

Ayia Napa is not closed in winter I been to Cyprus in February & March ayia napa is open. Protaras is shut all winter and nothing is open barely , and I have visited ayia Napa around February and March , all restaurants and McDonald’s is open all year round . You may have been to Cyprus-in winter but, you got the wrong resort I went last mid February towards end of March to ayia Napa and everything was almost open , my parents used to own a place in Cyprus at parlimni and we used to go more than 4 times a year as everything is open at ayia Napa . Protaras is a ghost town at winter and is shut the whole resort of protaras is shut down as i was there last year in Cyprus 🇨🇾 when the Turkish earthquake was happening last year and felt the quake from turkey 🇹🇷. Ayia Napa restaurant and bars are open as we had to go to Ayia Napa as everything was more, open than protaras.

Have had these for well over 5 years, and have just brought another 5 pairs in different colours. They are quick to unzip and take on and off , store the bottom bits in your rucksack and reattach if it gets cold, and they are very quick drying. So a win/win.

I would be very Upset and i would want go back home and just Cry my Heart out....!!! What has happened to this Beautiful and very Scenic Island of Cyprus?? This really will Affect the Tourist Trade and it will put people off coming here. To see all of those places closed down and looking so sad and dilapedated. It really does need proper Government Invest in this Island. Where has all of the money gone, to actually build new Bars, Restaurants, and places for Entertainment. One or two Nightclubs would be really Good to build and some really Good Re-Developement of the area. This is a very Sad and Upsetting sign of the times in Cyprus. Hi Lee I will keep this as short as possible. The Mayor of Paphos decided some time ago to give the whole area a facelift so to speak if you try to go to Coral Bay be aware the whole main road is a building site will be great when finished.I was here last June cos I am used to Cyprus did not mind the building work but I understand how you feel, quite a bit of rain in March my friend. They have made the sea front pedestrian only wish is great compared to what it used to look like.A car for two days does not do Cyprus justice.❤

It’s the same in Ibiza. They’re not allowed to build in season so they’re non stop out of season. If it doesn’t get completed, it has to wait until the end of season.

What a ropey hole, and the boss man was a local oddball 😂😂😂 clearly to be avoided 😂😂😂 Oooh been to Australia have you, never av guessed. Not that u mentioned it at least x10 yesterday too 😂😂😂😂😂 Bucket hats are great, but a Yankees hat on a 54 Yr old is sad, and a reflection of his paranoia over his age 😂😂😂 Great vid Lee as visual art is created to provoke feeling, I found it depressing so it must have been good. Holiday company won't tell u its a building site, they won't sell any hols.

Lee you spend so much time exposing (rightly) the numerous flaws of EVs but you joke about not paying with cash. If we lose cash we lose the freedom to pay for what we want anonymously and freely. The two go hand in hand - you admit you know EV's are about control yet you are complicit in the process because the task of getting some money out of your wallet is evidently sooooo much harder than tapping your iwatch on a screen. Do us all a favour and get behind cash as you claim you are behind ICE cars and small businesses....

He thinks like most people, we need businesses to take cash and card. Sainsburys had a problem at the weekend, people couldn't pay by card.

Problem with having a fruit based phone and watch, you want to use all the features, and just annoy everybody else in the queue whilst you muck about with the screen trying to pay. Slap a fiver down, get change, disappear.

9:30 thats where i stayed!!!!. Bit annoyed its gone downhill! You need to go to Coral Bay, Tomb of the Kings, Aprodite Bath, Fat Mommas. Troodos Mountains, Akrotiri....which is like England home from home. Massive RAF base, Red arrows use it during winter seasons for training. Trust me Cyprus is lovely, you need to give it a chance. :) Unless....they are now building sites. lol

Hi Lee we were in Paphos in September and it was like a building site then it was quite honestly the worst place we have ever been to and would never return. On a plus side though the fish and chips at T&Js were the best ever.
