My HiFi System Gets Seriously Upgraded!
Ойын-сауық
My stereo gets a serious upgrade, reaching a level I never thought I'd be able to achieve in my lifetime. I feel very blessed to be able to have it. The JBL K2 S9900, throws sound out that you can feel like I've never heard before. This is an end-game speaker IMO.
Thanks for watching!

Thank you. Love the Eastwood movies too. ;)
A nice upholstered ottoman would probably work well as a coffee table, with a small table next to your listening chair for your drink.
Amazing setup…and hardwork pays off, and incredible to hear the gratitude 🙏🏼

Honestly, rare and appreciated regarding sacrifice to purchase these speakers. Most in this audio hobby are in the same boat. We work up through the years upgrading as we go and some eventually can get those end game speakers some day. I had never seen these JBL speakers before, I had no idea they made these top level speakers. They look great, congratulations. Look forward to seeing and hopefully hearing them in future videos.
Those are some kick ass JBLs there! Always loved that sound! Bit beyond my means though. I have an old set of the L80ts late '80s home version of the 4410 monitors on a decent Chinese tube amp of 50 watts x 2 and the matching tube CDP. Not the best, but pretty darned good for a budget boy, lol. What you have there are certainly End Game speakers! Enjoy!
Congrats Clint. Enjoy them .
This setup is so good it deserves own room

Thanks. Well, I got a small house so I could afford this, haha. No space for a dedicated room. Really, this *is* its own room.
Well that certainly looks impressive, sorry to hear you weren't feeling the best over the holidays.
Excellent, great taste and clean look throughout. Enjoy your system.

Thanks! Sounds like you've got a great system too, and one to be proud of. An MC452 would be plenty for my system too, but the giant meters and handles got me, lol. I had the C2600 before too, definitely nice.

Gotta love the 'Maxell Chair'. Nice.
Nice. Congratulations on the JBLs. I would love to have them. All I can afford are the Klipsch Forte IV, but I keep flip flopping between that and the Martin Logan 60XTi. But NOTHING expresses soul as great as horn speakers, despite the horn short comings.
Great setup 👍👍
Congratulations, I always liked these JBL's K2, probably great match with Mac's, I predict density, impact and huge 3D soundstage.
I remember the week they came out
I would love to hear those in person !!! You have to be stoked ... Congrat.

Really like that Salamander stand. I put the doors and sides on mine. System really started to come together when I got that stand. The casters look different than mine

Yea, they're very adjustable for the system. Nice and durable too. The casters I have are the heavy duty ones, because of the massive weight on my rack. The saturn wheels weren't enough support. They say it'll hold 2000 lbs now. My floor won't, but the rack will. :D
I would be interested in a more detailed comparison between these and the Revel Studio 2. I currently own the Revel 228be (with subs) and have been thinking about buying a pair of JBL 4367s. So not the same but your subjective comparison would be interesting.
Nice setup. I've not heard those speakers, but they sure are beautiful.

A suggestion. You could consider a plinth at the bottom of your cabinet to cover the wheels, or individual covers for each wheel. Could be stained timber, or black. I made up all my own cabinetry at home, it’s part of my trade. If you like the wheel look then no problem.
They are amazing!!!!
I fully agree - K2 model is end game speaker. I heard such comments from multiple users / people who had pleasure to listen in person (including me :))

@@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy p.s one personal advice for you. K2 very nice responding to source/signal quality, so not only amplification is important (actually at this level everything is important). But I remember K2 response for hiend dac (ML reference dac 30.5) vs some normal /non hiend dac. Wow it was impressive like to have different speakers. Those transducers have serious hidden potential. And always shit in shit out rule applies.
You have completed your empire!

they look good!!!
wow, I am jealous, you have it good

Are those mids a hornloaded speaker or a hornloaded desighn ? I would go Tube amp on those bad boys geez i bet they sound amazing (Battery acts like a power supply boost in an odd way ) Keeping dynamics/Attack on insane level !!
@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy
2 жыл бұрын
The Mid is actually the tweeter. It's a 4" compression driver mounted to a horn. The little driver on top is a super-tweeter that starts at 15Khz and up. A tube amp probably does sound good on them. They're surprisingly efficient and pretty loud at only 12 watts.

Got ya , My 🔺 40th Comete have the Magnesium tweeter and crossover is at 3.8khz , I bought the matching speaker stands also and i am still befuddled how the setup sounds in my treated room tonality sounds so amazing Vocals melt me into ! and its just a 3k speaker made in France . But yeah JBL is a Powerhouse ! on a side note i know your speakers are heavy but just for fun i would pull the speakers atleast 1.5ft to 2 ft away from back wall i bet the depth of the sound would be so much deeper but i know their heavy thanks for the reply awesome setup ! Enjoy !!!
The last Greg Timbers epic creation, (!) Wonderful set up. Do you turn it up?
I love this speakers ! I heard them at the Munich HighEnd 2022. Congratulations for the set up ! For the 1st reflections is the tv not the best idea. But anyway, life is always a compromise…
Very awesome I have on order McIntosh c1100 and mc901s, for my one day endgame everest 67000s for now ill have to make due with my 4637’s
the two open ways on both speakers back do loose a lot of sound normally one puts the speakers on a closed corner of the room, but it must sound good with that equipment
What is your AV rack you are using? Is this the Salamander Synergy Core Triple or something else? Love that rack and i'm shopping for something like that. Can you list the rack you are using and amazing setup btw!
@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy

Thanks. Yep, that's the rack. This is a custom 2 1/2 height though. I had them cut the pillars down from a 3 high, and added custom cut side panels too, so it's open in the front, but closed on the sides.
Looks proper. Hard to beat JBL and McIntosh!

He’s not. But what’s important is they sound great to him in his room. Great set up!
@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy
2 жыл бұрын
I just took a tape measure to them, and they're 29" from the wall to the front baffle. Not exactly against the wall. That is somewhat of a misnomer though too. I hear it all the time, as if stage depth is 100% controlled by how far you pull your speakers out. It's not. Also, in my room I don't have corners on the front wall, the wall falls away on both sides, so it also doesn't perform like your typical room. If you sat in front of them, you'd know. I'm actually considering pushing them back a few more inches.
Sweet !!
I congratulate you on your new set-up. However, I'm not quite as enthusiastic about the sound quality that the JBL K2 S9900 or the JBL Everest Project DD67000 produces as many others seem to be. To my ears, both these speakers are woefully lacking in the lowest bass extension compared to some of it's even less expense competitors, and, especially within their own lofty price ranges. Granted, the midrange on these speakers sounds absolutely incredible! But, I find that the high frequencies on these two top-of-the-line JBL speakers to be too bright and forward sounding, causing listener fatigue after a less than extended listing period. I also felt the same about the older JBL offering from the 70s and beyond. If space wasn't an issue, I'd much prefer the absolutely incredible and less expensive new Klipsch Heritage Jubilee Horn speakers over these. Happy listening.
House value just increased a good 20 grand, lol. Amazing upgrade right there.

JBL nothing like it!!
What did you put on the speaker cable in the middle of the mesh?
I like the customizability of those stands but the metal rails (and narrow width) make me nervous that I would scratch expensive pieces of equipment when putting them in or taking them out.
@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy

The rails are smooth, with rounded edges, and the width isn't narrow at all. They're standard component width spacing, so it's no problem at all.

Awesome gear, are you going to accoustically treat your room ??
@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy

Thanks. It is treated actually. I have sound panels around the room (Printed with my photography so they look like artwork), and a thick shaggy rug with padding under it. I also have a large blanket on my couch along the side. It sounds funny, but it works. I'm not treating every surface, or touching the ceiling, because it's a functional living room, not a recording studio.
Very nice if u want to donate your old speakers I’ll take them off your hands lol I bet the new set up must sound unbelievable god bless. Don’t let holidays bug u it’s all crap anyway. Enjoy life u only live once my man. 👍🏻

@@BobFrostV IMHO, the KEF Blades are more neutral and accurate when compared to the B&W 801 D4 flagship. I was in a demo room and did ABX test. I play piano and IMO the B&Ws are topped off and artificially bright.
Nice however they don't come close to the Westminster Royal's at 3 times the price with Kondo amps and Rel ref subs.. Arms legs and just about all of your anatomy to buy this and that's just the speakers..:-) Wife still hates me
Did you consider JBL 4367? Do you know how 4367 compares to this?

I looked at them. I haven't compared directly, but I know that's is a good speaker too. I just wanted to take it up all the way. These have a Be super tweeter, and the horn is very anti-resonant, no parallel walls in the cabinet, plus the look is gorgeous. I'm sure the 4367's are great though.

wish i had those JBL ,i´m getting poor by the day , only have old but good equipment. If in my mid 30´s someone explained me the cost of having a family i would stay single forever, "what car did you bought?" "Is this what you paid for some old records?" me-"they are new" she-"NEW???" don´t you have a cd recorder in your computer" , etc., etc. , etc., I´m done, and i´m only in my 50´s ,one day i´ll wake up and 60 it is , and they said on the news ,that strangelly, the heroin consumers increased in midle aged men. i didn´t found it strange at all . Lucky me the heroin dealers disapeared and some brown thing is being sold to the kids but heroin isn´t, in 430 persons being treated for heroin comsuption in my city not one was positive on heroin after the blood tests were done or cocaine tests . I could be driving a Maserati V8, with the hair still black and arrive home and put the music i wanted played loud on my new JBL speakers with my thorens turntable on my power and pre-amplifier from 1976, sansui or pioneer

Nice setup. But you should go for Hegel monoblokk... sound much better 😀
You will never be satisfied, and chasing your tail as regards sound quality. Not until you listen to some large class A / AB mosfet active powered 3 way ATC SCM ASL with extra active bass modules if needed. They will blow your passive system into the weeds, with natural detail of resolution, with dynamics. More Power for passive does not Always = louder. Its about attaining drive unit control. With more power for passive loudspeakers comes penalties with other sound deficiencies, as well as loudspeakers passive crossover components degrading the sound further. If you are are still using that poor quality marantz cd player, you will never hear the most detailed natural sound with resolution either.

Ian old chap, this sounds more like a rude dig with a hint of arrogance. I wonder what your system is ?. You know your stuff BUT. your an audiophile you love high end equipment & music is secondary & this comment shows that arrogance possibly with a hint of jealousy. Start enjoying music, it's not all about the price tag.
