This show was the last performance of the genius guitarist Fujioka with BM. Shortly after this, he was seriously injured in an accident and passed away. This live video was released after his death. At 3:28 (1:34 in the original) the guitarist is seen and the lyrics say, "I'll never see you again, but I'll remember you." I think this edit is clearly a tribute to him. I still cry when I watch this video.

It's been a while since someone reacted to this and I think the last attempt was blocked, is really heavily blocked, of course here I'm praying to the Fox God for no blocked 🙏🦊 And you guess it right about the deep meaning on this song everytime she performed this at special occasions. This song is an X-Japan tribute to Endless Rain, is like a response or a silver lining. Good thing you upload this one with those filters to avoid copyright blocked. There's a "kamishibai" (narrated intro) before this song that relates Hiroshima sad past events in history with this song. She being from Hiroshima and granddaughter of Hiroshima bomb survivor, this was really special for her. A gorgeous hard rock ballad from SuMetal solos and BM in general, performed at Legend S Baptism XX 2017 20th SuMetal birthday it was a special concert due to many factors and many fans always get sad about it, me too of course, is a bittersweat live concert and one in a lifetime too. It was the last time Mikio Fujioka-sama played with BabyMetal before he past away and first live concert without YuiMetal, so many feelings. (R.I.P. kokami)🙌 She sang this at 10 Babymetal Budokan 2021 with our queen "playing" the piano, it really surprised the audience with the unusual silence break. She supposed to sing this song during first album but she felt not ready to sing it with all the emotions needed, that's why is included during 2nd album later on. There's a live version at Legend 1999 (2013) with Yui and MoaMetal celebrating their birthdays, isn't the best version since the guitar sound and mix are a little bit off but is good in terms of visual and a special moment being a live premiere. SuMetal said that this guitars solos is one of her favorite parts, quote: “I feel that the guitars in this song sound as if they’re really singing the melody, and I just really enjoy it." Japan got many other tragedies and natural disasters in history, like the 2011 earthquake, Suzuka Nakamoto(aka SuMetal) remembered that sad days and connected with Hiroshima past events, saying: "I believe that persistently doing little things bit by bit as they come up will grow into a great power someday. The city i live in Hiroshima has itself been totally destroyed and then restored. This happened long before i was born but i have seen through pictures that Hiroshima went from a place with someday we will be able to look back and be almost unable to believe the destructive scene that we see now." She's our queen for a reason, she touches our heart on every way.

I’ve seen this performance many times watching people react. It gets me teary eyed every time.👊🏽⚡️ Su was definitely feeling this. This show was a celebration of Su’s 20th birthday which is significant in Japan. It was very bittersweet for several reasons. This was the first show without Yui. I have to think Yui’s health must have been pretty bad because I’m certain she would have wanted to help Su celebrate. The show was in Hiroshima, Su’s home city and the first time Babymetal had performed there. There was a dedication before the show for the victims of the nuclear bomb attack.

A lot of singers have power and range like Floor Jansen or Tarja.... But Su is one of the few (and best) at putting emotions into her singing and makes you feel it, even though you have no clue what she's singing. You see the anguish, sadness in her face and eyes, the glassy teary look... She doesn't just sing a song, she performs it in every way. I love the part where shes got this sad look, the lights are blue...But when the light changes to red, you see the look in her eyes also changes, and we have our badass metal queen back. Have you checked out Akatsuki Unfinished yet? There you can see how a younger Su pulls the heart strings. 🤘🦊🤘

⚡ / ☂ 🌈 The December 2nd and 3rd 2017 'LEGEND S - BAPTISM XX' concerts were Mikio Fujioka's last appearance with BABYMETAL. They have a close-up on him during this part: "Nidoto ae-nai kedo, wasure-naide itai yo." (We shall never meet again, but I want not to forget you forever.) Mikio passed away on January 5th, 2018, before the official video for this song was released. That was about a month after this performance. As far as what Su was thinking when she sang this song, that's hard to know. Yui was supposed to perform at this concert, but at the last minute was unable to appear because of unspecified health reasons. The introduction just before this song poetically refers to the bombing of Hiroshima, Su's home prefecture, and the location of these two concerts. DESPAIR 『絶望』 "The bright beam of light That wiped all light from the world Also ceased people's light of hope The skies turned dark And endless rain fell upon the people Who had lost all of their light and hope But endless rain doesn't exist And the people hope of black skies to clear out So the heavens can restore the light that had been lost They hope to discover that there's happiness at the end of sorrow And they pray for light of hope to return to them." (This intro was added for these two concerts. That doesn't mean the song was originally written to be about the bombing, just that they were drawing a connection for these two special shows in Su's home prefecture of Hiroshima.) The last line of this song is: "An endless rain fills my heart… forever." That's considered to be a reference to the X-Japan song 'Endless Rain'. BABYMETAL are huge fans of X-Japan, the hugely influential Visual Kei/Metal band.

To follow up on what others have said and add context, the intro of this song connected it with the atomic bomb. Su is a native of Hiroshima, and one of her grandparents lived through the bomb and its aftermath. The song is a tribute to X-Japan's Endless Rain, which is what they called the rains that fell following the bomb. This performance was at the Hiroshima Green Arena, Su's homecoming. Not to mention Yui got scratched from the show. Su was full of emotion this concert.

Her mentor, MIKIKO told her that a singer must be able to feel the emotion in a song, but also that a singer should never cry on stage... SU was on the verge of crying (for many reasons as others have mentioned), but was able to hold it. Thus I feel this is her best performance of the song.

Although it can be seen as a tragedy for her hometown of Hiroshima. And this song was written when Japan was still in mourning for the loss of so many people in the Great East Japan Earthquake. In fact, I was healed by this song. It gave me a positive feeling of hope and a desire to live, even as I thought of the many lives lost. The lyrics, "Even despair becomes light, and the rain that never stops brings rainbows," are a gentle song that seems to be close to the victims who endured the cold rain and sad separation from their loved ones in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.

The way she performs, her facial expressions, the intonation of her vocals. You don't even need to know her language to feel what she's singing about. I'm still super impressed by this performance and her ability at conveying the emotions. As it's been already said, that was a very special and emotional moment and place. And this was (and still is) a rare song in statistical terms. It premiered live in 2013 and it wasn't included on their first album in 2014. Su wasn't happy with her performance back then because she was more focused on hitting the right notes rather than expressing the emotions flowing from the lyrics. And she totally nailed here, right before her 20th birthday. Until next time!

NO RAIN 🌂 NO RAINBOW 🌈 NO RAIN, NO RAINBOW is a song from BABYMETAL's second original album, METAL RESISTANCE, by SU-METAL. It has the same music structure as Legendary band X Japan 🇯🇵 "Endless Rain" but with a different arrangement. A tear-jerker when listening to "Mikio Fujioka" guitar solo because he's such a phenomenal guitar maestro gone too soon. This is special for Su and Moa especially Su because she got to perform in her hometown of Hiroshima. After the guitar solo, you can hear Su voice wavering as she tried to hide her emotion. Su owns this performance. Her facial expressions and mannerisms coincide with the song. The show at the Nippon Budokan for the 10th Babymetal anniversary is awesome. Information:- •Artist: BABYMETAL. •Album: METAL RESISTANCE. •Lyrics: YOSHIFU-METAL, Mk-metal, Nakametal. •Composition: Yoshifu-metal. •Arrangement: Ledametal. NRNR Lyrics:- Why can't I sleep どうして眠れないの? Why is the night over? どうして夜は終わるの? I don't need anything, even tomorrow いらない 何も 明日さえも A future without you 君がいない未来 Why were you laughing? どうして笑ってたの? Why? I was lonely どうして? 寂しかったのに Nobody knows it's just 誰も 知らない 本当はただ I wanted you to be by my side そばにいて欲しかった Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Even if it keeps raining 止まない雨が 降り続いても Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Sad rain casts a rainbow forever 悲しい雨が 虹をかけるよ どこまでも I can't see you again 二度と会えないけど I want to remember 忘れないでいたいよ If your dreams continue, don't wake up 夢が続くなら 覚めないで Why were you laughing? どうして笑ってたの? Why? I was lonely どうして? 寂しかったのに Nobody knows it's just 誰も 知らない 本当はただ I just wanted to meet you 会いたい それだけだった Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Even if it keeps raining 止まない雨が 降り続いても Even despair becomes light 絶望さえも 光になる Sad rain casts a rainbow 悲しい雨が 虹をかけるよ 今も The unstoppable rain will fill my heart forever 止まない雨が こころ満たすよ いつまでも Songwriters: Naka Metal / MK Metal / Yoshifumetal This performance is very special to Su-Metal because it is performed in Su-Metal hometown of Hiroshima. A su-Metal grandmother is a survivor of "hibakusha" of the Hiroshima bombings. You can hear Su-Metal voice wavering after the guitar solo. This concert is also without Yui Mizuno "Yuimetal" who withdrew from Babymetal due to a health hiatus and "Mikio Fujioka" last concert before his untimely death on January 5th of 2018 after suffering injuries from an observation deck fall while stargazing. It is 75 years since the US dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August, leading to the end of World War Two. Those who survived the bombings are known as "hibakusha". Survivors faced horrifying aftermath in the cities, including psychological trauma. The bombings brought about an abrupt end to the war in Asia, with Japan surrendering unconditionally to the Allies on 14 August 1945. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.

She was exceeding emotional during the performance: 1) It was her 20th Birthday celebration in he hometown of Hiroshima; she is proud of it Officially becoming an adult. 2) First time Yui was unable to perform. Moa said Su was very upset over Yui, and had to provide extra support. 3) It was too late to change the choreography leaving Yui's spot empty, further reminding Su that he friend wasn't there. Yui never performed with BM again and officially left BM the following year. 4) Su's grandmother was a survivor of the atomic bomb. Su supported the annual ceremony on its anniversary. At one point Suzuka's eyes are tearing up, then Su-metal returns and the Queen takes over.

This was the first time that BABYMETAL performed in Hiroshima, Su-Metal's hometown. It was an special occasion because it was also the celebration of her 20th birthday. It's a huge milestone within Japanese culture, so she really felt gifted to be able to be there. No rain no rainbow it's a song that can be interpreted to be about Hiroshima's bombing and the subsequent toxic rain that covered the skies and city. Su has an special attachment for this tragedy, as many people's lives were forever changed, but it also speaks about their resilience. As the lyrics (roughly) say: "there's no such thing as an endless rain"

The notion behind the song is a very, very powerful one. It's one of those things you can interpret in so many ways. You can always find a way to apply it to yourself, and where you are right now. There is (I think) something specific it relates to. But that is not how we all hear it. It's personal to each of us in our own way. And that's how great songs work. I love this song. But I'll keep skipping it in the car.

Great reaction - it was birthdays all round ... Legend S Baptism XX were the shows in December 2017 celebrating Su-metal's 20th birthday (so Legend S for Su, XX being Roman numerals for 20). These concerts were in her home town of Hiroshima. Before this song there was a kamishibai (short video intro) which seemed to reference the Hiroshima bomb and the black acid rain which followed turning the sky black. This is a subject very near to Su's heart as a Hiroshima native. 'No Rain, No Rainbow' was first performed at the Legend 1999 concert in 2013, long before the first album was released. Su wasn't happy with her delivery, she felt she wasn't ready to record the song yet as she was concentrating on getting the lyrics and the notes right, but not on what it all meant, so she wasn't happy she was doing the song justice. As a result the song was not included on the first album. It was only later on when performing the song Su saw someone in the audience crying and only then did she appreciate her voice could touch people so deeply ... the song was then recorded and included on the 2nd album. It is a rare song to hear - never played outside of Japan and so far only 7 live performances: Legend 1999 (2013), Budokan Black Night (2014), Tokyo Dome (2016), Legend S (both nights 2017) and two of the 10 Budokan shows in 2021. It is not just coincidence that in this video as Su sings the line "We shall never meet again, but I want not to forget you for ever" the camera focuses for a moment on Mikio Fujioka (RIP). This was his last performance with BABYMETAL before his tragic accident just 2 or 3 weeks later.

I understand what you're saying about absorbing the feeling of the song BUT, as a viewer and lover of the lyrics of all their songs, it would be nice to hear reactions and discussions about the meaning of the songs, too.

Stopping a Babymetal song isn't allowed in the Fox kingdom.. especially a song that powerful.. sorry but after a third time I had to stop watching.. talk a little while it's playing then all you want at the end..

Doesnt seem like this is a common thing in the Fox Kingdom, I've done plenty of reactions for these talented girls and only seen overwhelming support from the community. Its okay if I'm not your type of reactor, but please don't discourage other reactors by saying something isn't allowed in the fox kingdom.
