Wow! It's amazing how so many of us african american women believe that our hair can never grow this long...when in reality, it can be as long as anyone elses if we educate ourselves and care for our hair properly and frequently. Our hair definitely needs A LOT more attention, but when given we have some of the most beautiful hair on this earth!

I used to watch these videos and wonder how people handle the new growth like why stress yourself with all this? . . . why not just go to the salon? A month ago I went to the salon and while the hairdresser was washing my hair she just put a comb in there and started yanking at it. I told her to stop and she just ignored me. Then I bought my products and went with them to the salon but the hairdresser started using her products and explaining to me how the products I have bought are no good. She ended up slathering products with petrolatum all over my hair. I was so annoyed. Now I do all my treatments and deep conditioners at home. I am loving it. My ends look great and I shed very little hair. I am now twelve weeks post relaxer planning on pushing it to 6 months. My hair is very managable because of the products I use. I love creme of nature products especially the intensive conditioning treatment.

Stretching your relaxer make your hair healthier, too many relaxer will damage your hair causing it to keep thinning out. Wearing protective styles helps your ends not to break off. You have to protect your ends for hair growth and preventing split ends.

I'm planning on starting a hair journey and searched KZread for people with similar hair type, similar length at the beginning and similar issues and I found this channel. The content appears honest and inspirational so I'm motivated to start utilising the tips-- now I will have to trawl through all the videos! But well done to the current results. My hair is currently colored, relaxed and below shoulder length and pretty dry-- will see how it goes.

Stretching my relaxer just means I wait a long time before I put another relaxer in my hair, like I will wait 4-6 months before I relax. You probably want to stay away from flat ironing your hair that much and try slicking it up in a bun if your worried about the frizzes. Try putting a good moisturizer on your hair like Elasta Qp olive oil and mango butter and then putting some coconut oil on top of that and your hair shouldn't look that dry. I use to have the same problem with the dryness.

I transition for one year and then I cut the perm part out of my hair, I didn't do the big chop, but the perm part was cut, but it did made my hair shorter. I was fine with short hair, I just wanted healthy hair, I came a long way, the journey started in July of 2012 and now I'm almost 5 years natural and it was worth it, I love my natural curly hair and I'm glade I did it!

I cut my hair a year and 5 months ago. I had a short pixie. I had two cuts after that to avoid the mullet. I now am growing my hair to what I had before I cut except I want it to be much healthier . I don't use heat besides the odd time to dry my hair if I need to go out. It's at my collar bone now. I purchased jojoba oil to help with growth and the health of my hair.

I'm on week 9, using; 2 Tablespoon Castor Oil 1 Tablespoon Honey 1 Egg Yolk -----------"''--------- Mix well, spread onto scalp and ends, cover with shower cap for 2 hours, rinse well, shampoo and condition hair. I look so funny when I put my hair up in a ponytail because I have baby hair's all around the front of my head they literally stick straight up. Oh what a problem to have, LOL.😝!
