Thanks for posting. My Coco was 15 weeks when she gave birth. The pet store said she was a boy. She was my first piggie so I was clueless. My friend said something was wrong and I went to another pet store and they said that he was probably a she. The next day she gave birth. Coco was the best piggie and mother. I did panic when Cinder and Blaze were born. I kept the babies. That was in 1998. I've had over 21 piggies and they were and are the best things in my life. Dr. Vagnetti said that he saw me more than his wife and his wife worked in the same animal hospital.

So walking, talking, eating and super adorable right from the start? What did we do to deserve guinea pigs :)

I got a baby piggy and to find out she was pregnant she just had 4 one of them sadly passed away when she gave birth but I’m letting her do everything I’m so proud of her for giving birth and taking care of them right after

I had a gassy piggie which I was so concerned about cause I could not get the bloat to ease up even just a little, I never take naps but this day everything had caught up to me and so I took a little cat nap and when I woke I found she'd released all that gas and there in the cage were three of the cutest little gas puffs I'd ever seen running around inside the cage, this on August the 8th 2021.

Those who harm baby guinea pigs must be denounced.

Wow, they are super developed at 4 days. I had no idea GPs were like that. I’m used to rats and mice that are blind and hairless at birth. 🤣

my guinea pig just had 5 babies, two passed they were born first. the mom rejected them. the other three babies are doing “okay” very shaky but managing. this is day one after all. i will try and make them live!

It’s weird how many pet baby rodents are born naked. But piggies are all “clothed”. All fluff & ears 🤣

We had three surprise babies once because we got a guinea pig from the pet store. We had to give one away because we didn’t have enough space, another got sick and passed away about a year and a half later. She had issues with her teeth but they couldn’t operate because she was too weak, gave her syringe food (which she even ate freely out the bowl) but then she suddenly passed during the night. We’ll never buy from a pet store again. Learned that lesson a bit too late but still better than never. Adopt, don’t shop. Don’t even get them from a breeder, just adopt them. Breeding is absolutely unnecessary. There are countless of animals that truly need a home.

Years ago,my early 20’s I would buy the sickly piggies on purpose. So one day I saw a piggy with a huuuge cataract on his bulging eye. I named him booboo. I felt bad about leaving his roommate alone ,I went back to the store the next day and bought him also. Well he was a she lol. They had beautiful babies and booboo lived a full 6 years. Few months ago I rescued 3 from a woman, and now we are having babies any day.I’m 50 now and can’t imagine a day with out my little bugs. 5 , with babies on the way.

🤣 when my mom brought home one guinea pig it became 3. Gave the male to a friend had a male and kept the mom and daughter. It worked out for the best 😄. If in doubt go to a vet if not sure who is a boy 😄

When I lived in Hawaii I bought a guinea pig at the pet store and the next morning I woke up to two babies that were not in the cage the night before. I was amazed.😊

This actually happened to me this morning! I've got two adult females. I purchased one about a month ago because I had one pass away. Evidently she was pregnant and I had no idea. Woke up this morning and SURPRISE! there are 3 babies. I feel at ease watching this video, and everything is gonna be OK! Thanks.

Thank you for posting, I got 3 Guinea pigs from my roommates family and 2/3 girls are pregnant. I plan on keeping the girls and rehoming the boys in pairs. If possible anyways

I adopted a piggie from a rescue and suuddenly she had babies. Even the rescuer didn't know. They grew up nicely and got lovely homes. I'm happy to have cared for them untill then

That happened to me I asked for a boy ended up with a pregnant female . I didn't know until I found baby guinea pigs in the cage.

I had an aby named Poppy but it was short for Popcorn because when I first got her she would be popcorning all day every day lol

In December I got 3 ladies from a hoarding situation and two were pregnant! Luckily we only got 3 babies in total. They we so early in the pregnancy that even though all the females got ultrasounds the babies couldn't be detected.

Omg….. i bought a Guinea pig for my son about 2 months ago from a nearby pet store!!!!!! 2 weeks ago we noticed her belly literally grew like a pear shape OVER night!!! Last night i told my son “ hey lets go play with Emily”…. We went upstairs and as soon as we lifted her house to get her out we literally fell to the ground what we saw next!!! Instead of just seeing Emily there were 3 more babies cuddled up next to each other!!! Omfgggggg!!!! We are still in disbelief and dont know what to do!! Apparently the pet store sold us a pregnant pig and now we have 4 in total!!! Is there anything i need to know about handling these babies!! I mean we are just shocked and dont know what to do!!!

When you do the workshop how long does that go on for? I know it starts next month.

I remember when we got home from the pet shop with the biggest cage they had and 2 guinea pigs. Once at home after a day or so I thought one of them might be a boy. The shop hadnt checked her sex. Kept it to myself though hoping for a litter. She wasnt, just quite the little boss. Even towards me. If I pet her the wrong way she will hit my hand with her head and go PPPRRRR as if Im just another guinea pig. We liked to joke that if she could, she’d have an earring in her right ear and a piece of chicory tattood on her left. 😂😁

We got 2 guinea pigs from petco almost a year ago and they were a boy and girl in the same cage and we didn’t know and then we got a third a few months later and now we have nine and have sexed them correctly( we separated the male after we found out the girls were pregnant)

I got two girl guinea pig one of them was very over weight and did not like being held I woke up one morning and one of them had 4 Guinea pigs.I was very surprised

I watched Harpers video, and called my vet. We all went today for x-rays. The 6 youngest are all going to be spayed tomorrow. The middle 2 are due very soon, one girl has 2, the other has 3. The oldest 2 are probably a week behind, both have 2 on board. No very young piggies having babies at 11-12 weeks old!

my guinea pigs are 3 years old and no babies yet so this isnt happening to me with those two piggies at least so idk why im here lmaooo, yez i have the proper size cage, 2 of them and every thing else, we looked thus stuff up before getting them and we got them from a reputable lisenced breeder.

Question to anyone who knows: I adopted my pig from a woman who got a pregnant pig from a pet store. I'm beginning to think he may be a litter runt, not certain but, he's 10 months and while he eats well he's not very big, length wise. I know they can get bigger in a year. But how do you know for sure if your pig is a runt. I'm beginning to wonder if my piggy Nacho is a runt or just taking longer to grow more? He just seems like he's gotta a short stout body and not as big as Beavis and Butthead were when they were that age.

Love the names first off, and second off I wouldn’t worry too much about whether or not he is a runt. Guinea pig runts don’t have any underlying health problems so he could be a runt and be fine.

I forget how long they continue to grow for, I don't know if it's a year or a year and a half. But you are right as long as there are no health problems is what's most important. I was just curious if there was a way to tell if a pig will be a runt. Thank you for answering me. I appreciate it.

@@heather-wm1jc He's almost 11 months. He has tons of personality that's for sure. What he doesn't have in size he makes up for in his personality. I love him. I find guinea pigs so fascinating.

Thanks for your wonderful videos. But I do have a problem. I've gotten very sick with cancer and my guinea had babies after getting what I thought was another female from a pet store. Unfortunately by the time I realized it was actually a male it was too late. The little fella got my female pregnant. I did separate them but as I said it was too late. Now already becoming overwhelmed with their care weekly, I'm having trouble. I've tried to call places to surrender them, of course all have said they have no room, and sorry. So what can I do, I'm on Hospice Care now.....HELP!

Hiya, i have a 2 year old pregnant guinea pig (not by choice) and were super worries because its super risky at this age, is there any signs in the couple of days before she goes into labour that we can look out for so that we can make sure we are around incase she needs to go to the vet? We are in contact with a vet regularly but they have a 2 week window of when they think she maybe due. Thank you 🖤

We use kitten formula but only if they are not suckling at all and too weak to drink or eat. Most wee ones can eat solids as soon as they are born.

Guinea Babies are really cute. Unfortunately, lots of people aren't aware of how quick the boars are sexually mature so sheer amount mouths to feed gets overwhelming within weeks.

Both my females gave birth same time.. will babies get confused about who their mom is.. about how long does labor last for a. Guinea?

SASKIA HELP!!! I rescued a little boy piggie someone was considering giving away for food. I've named him MOJO JOJO. He's very sweet and I love him so much. He's bonded with my other piggie Toshi and my boys are now inseparable. I've noticed that Jojo was, I thought, sneezing but I think he's just clearing his nose. At a closer inspection I've noticed what looks like little flaps or polyps covering some of each nostril. He doesn't seem bothered except for clearing his nose. There's no drainage but I'm still really concerned. Question; can I crush a .5mg prednisone & make a water solution using bottled water and administer the solution to him via 3ml syringe. The Vets around me do not care for small/exotics anymore all of them. They dint have a small animal Doc. The ones that do are ridiculously expensive. I've tried to get insurance & again, I can't find one that will cover my boys. You're advice is Golden to me. I have to help my baby Jojo. Thanks for Reading. We lost one baby she's got 3 but the one that died was huge how to you take care of mom the two other baby's are way smaller than that one.

I'm 10 years old right now my friends guinea pig and mine had a baby and I don't know what to do my parents think they are cute but I don't know how to take care of them 💀

I have a question!! So my Guinea pig had 2 babys last night but she still looks bigger, so do they have them in like, sets or maybe 1 more or is she just big because it was really recent. They are not even 1 day yet
