I’m watching ur reaction and had to pause it here 30:29. Ya’ll should watch “The Count of Monte Cristo” starring Jim Caviezel from 2002. Highly underrated film. Revenge, Hatred, Jealousy, Betrayal, Vengeance, Redemption, Romance all in one. One of my favorite movies ever :))

Andy didn't tell on Boggs. He got protection from the guards for what he did for Capt. Hadley. And the beach at the end was actually shot at Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. And fun fact, the actor who played the fat guy that was killed by Capt. Hadley was killed by the same actor who played Capt. Hadley on an episode of ER. 🤣

Director Frank Darabont wanted the movie to have a more ambiguous ending with Red on the bus, but the studio insisted on the ending with Red and Andy reuniting, so Darabont compromised and filmed the scene with them reuniting with the camera pulling away.

Afternoon. Although set in Maine, the prison used was the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. The large main building and Cell Block 1 are now a Museum. They offer tours, can be used for special occasions, and offer overnight cell accommodations for the brave. ( haunted ) The street scenes were primarily N. Main St where the shop owners agreed to have their stores redone to fit the time period. Many still look the same. The halfway house is the Bissman Building, and still looks the same today. (It was a beer distributor, hence the name "Brewery") The store was the E and B Market on 4th Street which has been torn down. I was fortunate to be an extra con in the yard scenes. The premiere was held at Mansfield's Renaissance Theatre, a restored 1929 movie palace, before New York and Los Angeles.. I volunteered working the theatre restoration. The prison was also used in the movie "Tango & Cash", and was the Russian cell block in "Airforce One". An interesting side note: In the bad winters, crows from 7 or 8 counties move into Mansfield by the hundreds due to large granaries that used to be between town and the prison. Brook's crow was a natural. The passage of time from the unfiltered Chesterfields to the filtered cigarettes offered Tommy by the warden, and the subtle aging of everyone is superb. Many people miss the subtlety of when Brooks left the prison, you see the prison through the gates, and when Red left you are looking forward over the fields toward the town. And they don't notice when the warden opens the Bible and finds the cut out, that it is the book of Exodus! I am 75 now with Parkinson's and don't get to attend movies very often.. I enjoy the reaction videos on KZread.

Tom Hanks was offered the role of Andy Dufresne, but turned it down because he was busy working on Forrest Gump, and James Cromwell was offered the role of Warden Sam Norton, but turned it down in favor of Bob Guntin. They both starred the following year in The Green Mile, another prison movie directed by Frank Darabont and based on a Stephen King novel. Other actors from this movie that appeared in The Green Mile are Jeffrey DeMunn (the Prosecuting Attorney) as guard Terwilliger, William Sadler (Heywood) as Klaus Detterich and Brian Libby (Floyd) as one of the guards who arrests John Coffey. The judge who sentenced Andy was played by John Horton who appeared in another movie based on a Stephen King novel, Thinner. (He was a judge in that movie as well) Several real life prison guards offered to advise Clancy Brown (Hadley) to help him make his performance more convincing, but Brown turned them down because he was playing a corrupt guard and he didn't want his performance to reflect negatively on either of them. The prison scenes were filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory. Both Bob Guntin (Warden Norton) and Clancy Brown (Hadley) got along well with the other cast members. RIP Brian Libby (Floyd- 1949- 2021)

6:39 you ask “so we like him” don’t provide information on the movie. When someone knows you have watched a movie they always ask questions…it’s second nature. Just say, “let’s watch and find out” eventually no more questions are asked. Just voice opinions on what you see. Honestly it’s a small critique as your doing well so don’t take it bad as it’s not that big of a deal. Just hoping it helps. Wanting to get you more followers, however, that’s more algorithmic than anything else.

Great reaction. Andy doesn't just break the warden & ruin his life. He DESTROYS him on several levels. Takes Everything from him. Ruins his whole world. Makes his legacy of his inside out program into nothing but a crime. But with a Beautiful little twist of the dagger on top. Let me elaborate. You've seen what a religious zealot the warden is. Yes he has broken the 10 commandments more than a few times. But those sins are things someone can be redeemed from. If the warden had accepted his sins & gone to prison, he could've ended up in heaven after redemption by admitting his sins. But he doesn't. He offs himself. That's something in the bible that sends you straight to Hell. Andy doesn't just tear down the wardens job, family, legacy, his whole world. He destroys & makes him lose his most treasured "good trait". His faith in God. Andy breaks him mind, body & soul.

@matthewzimmerman5064 I noticed she wasn’t grasping some things that most other people watching for the first time usually pick up on right away. Maybe she wouldn’t have gathered that on the first watch, and he wanted to make sure she understood what all that implied, thinking back on the movie. He wanted her reaction, so he almost had to tell her. At least to capture her reaction on video… I haven’t finished watching this yet. I had to take a break from the constant proclamations about how “iconic” something was, lol. (Nothing against her personally, it’s just a pet peeve of mine and I hear it everywhere!) I think I might skip out on finishing this, though. It’s been a bit of a difficult watch anyways. Maybe if she watched it alone it could’ve worked out better.
