A Cullen fact…Carlisle has never tasted human blood. Neither has Rosalie. They are the only ones in the family that haven’t. It’s a shame they don’t tell Carlisle’s back story. He was the son of an Anglican priest who believed in vampires, witches and werewolves, and set up hunting parties. Carlisle was actually attacked by a vampire coven. Once he knew what he was, he tried many ways to kill himself, but was not successful. He was very thirsty when he came upon a herd of deer. He figured out he could survive on animal blood. He lived with the Vollturi, but remained with his animal diet.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but Jasper's special power is that he's an empath. He's able to feel and control one's emotions. So that first scene where he goes to wish her happy birthday, he stops when he feels she's insecure and annoyed about it, thus saying "Never mind". Then, the scene of Jasper attacking is because he's not only feeling his own thirst, but his whole family's thirst on top of it. Poor Jasper, gets treated like the black sheep of the family and it's not his fault.

No, she does not actually see the real him. It explains it in the books and I wish they explained it better in the movie. Speaking of all the shirtless scenes, Jacob's actor, Taylor actually talks about how uncomfortable he was over them all. The rain was often freezing and he wasn't allowed to shiver because he's not meant to feel cold. And he was actually almost replaced for this movie because they wanted a more muscular body type. He had to earn the role of Jacob back for this film. Overall he doesn't regret the film franchise, but he does point out the exploitation of the male body and insane physical expectations in appearance. It's less talked about when it comes to guys so I'm glad he called it out and brought attention to it

Love the reaction! First, Edward is not there, Bella’s hallucinating due to her desperation to see him. The wolf pack is shirtless all the time due to their clothes tearing every time they phase. Sometimes they hide clothes in the woods. But mostly, the wolves tie a pair of shorts to their leg. The vampire that was fighting Edward (Felix) had superpowers. He has enhanced fighting abilities and super strength. That’s why no one had to help him. Also the reason the Volturi already knew about Bella is because Edward had already approached them and expressing his desire to die. When they said no, he made the decision to revealed himself. Aro had read his mind and knew all about her. A little trivia: the plan was to recast Jacob because by the second book he was supposed to be 6’7” and very muscular. So Taylor Lautner trained extensively so he could keep the role. Keep the reactions coming!!!

She was super honest with him about what she was going through & told him straight-up that she wanted him to be her best friend, but that she was broken & didn’t want to hurt him. I understand some of the hate for Bella, but then again, I totally understand that she’s a complex character. People call her selfish & all kinds of stuff, but I love that she’s not perfect. She has flaws & she’s a teenager. These movies show both sides of teenage love, when you feel like nothing matters but that person, feeling completely destroyed, like “a hole was punched through your chest”, & it’s crazier because of the supernatural love element.

@@mistyxmarlboro I mean, she IS selfish but, like you said, she is a teenager as well and does not know how to manage her feelings, just like Jake. I think that Bella and Jake are right to feel what they feel; Jacob is in love with Bella and that makes him think he can pick up the pieces and she´ll love him back (it's that little hope everyone has when they fall for sb and expect the other to correspond them); and Bella is alone and feels loved by Jake, ergo wants him around, but she doesn't realize (she kind of does tho) she is keeping his hopes up with her touches and the time they spend together. Despite the depression of Edward leaving, Bella is also going through a "cleansing" of vampire venom!! That's why she suffered so much during this period because in addition to her love for him, she was kind of addicted. and the same goes for Edward, he was addicted to Bella's blood so when he left, he also ended up suffering a lot for leaving the person he loves behind and for the addiction they ended up creating in each other. It's like he says in the first film: you're like my personal heroine. Although this isn't my favorite film in the entire saga, I really like how it makes it clear that at the beginning their love is confused between addiction and genuine passion. Can't wait for the Eclipse and Breaking Dawn 1-2 reactions ❤️ Ps: PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE REACT TO THE EXTENDED VERSION OF BREAKING DAWN PART 1
Edward trying to no longer be living because he thought Bella was gone is a copycat of Romeo and Juliet, which we saw at the beginning of the movie.
I LOVE your reactions lol. I'm the same way watching these, there's this absolutely ludicrous aspect throughout every scene 😂
It's been a while since I have read the books, but I recall Jacob being toxic too, if not moreso than Edward. Bella was kinda using Jacob for comfort when she knew he liked her, and Jacob was more possessive and annoying, and I am pretty sure he knew it was Edward on the phone and intentionally misled him in the book, but that part I may be misremembering. Basically, I was team movie-Jacob, but also team book-Edward. 😂 Edward was also better as a character in the books, but maybe I just didn't picture him looking so sulky all the time. 😂 Oh, and now that you have finished New Moon, if you want a spoof of these first two films to watch for giggles, there is a movie called Vampires Suck that might be fun. Some of the humor isn't for me but there are a lot of good moments in it too. It doesn't have spoilers for anything beyond New Moon.

Carlisle didn’t kill
When it comes to Jacob and Bella, it's funny you say it seems more natural because that's what Jacob says in the book. Something explained more in depth in the book, the kitchen scene when they were about to kiss, Bella was going to allow it because she didn't want to lose Jacob. She equated it with Romeo and Juliet. If Romeo left Juliet, could she learn to love Mercutio, even if he was just her best friend? Could she give Jacob what he wanted, to make him happy, since she could never be happy again and didn't want him to feel that same thing?
They can’t get ahold of Edward cause they just showed him breaking his cellphone. Edward spoke earlier about not being able to kill himself, that’s why he was talking to Bella about the Volturi.
Jacob looked great, but how many clothes did you want him to ruin when he turned? Lol! Did you notice the other shapeshifters didn't wear shirts either?
Team Alice forever 😊 then Charlie..maybe Carlisle 😊❤
Charlie is the greatest!
"Is he naked or what?" 😂
Bella sees Edward when doing dangerous things because it was when he looked and sounded the most like him- because she couldn’t remember him as clearly unless she did dangerous things. He took all the things he had given her including photos so it was as he said- like he never existed. She tells him this when he returns and he nearly loses his mind since he didn’t want her doing anything dangerous.
I can't wait for another video, it was great watching you both! It's said throughout the community that 'Twilight' the standalone (re: not the series' titular saga title) reflects Edward's story; and 'New Moon' reflects Jacob's. The boys don't feel cold after the change. 3) Bella DOES love Jacob and they do have chemistry... just not all-consuming as with Edward. 4) Not many used cell phones back then. 5) Romeo & Juliet foreshadowed how Edward would react if he thinks Bella is dead. 6) Older man, younger woman relationship is more acceptable to society than the other way around. Bella doesn't want to age or look older than Edward's 17 years age/appearance. Insecurities about appearance and/or ability are things we can all relate to, no matter the age.

About Edward maybe advancing in his gift, his gift is a slight advancement on Aro’s gift already, not the other way around. Aro’s gift lets him read the mind of anyone he touches, and only when he touches them, Edward can read anyone’s mind without the need to touch them, the only difference other than the touch requirement for Aro is that he can see memories, were Edward can see what that person sees, and see what they are thinking about at the time. Another detail is that Bella gets her mindblocking gift from her dad. In the Midnight Sun books being they are from the view of Edward, you see that if he tries to read Charlie’s mind, all he gets are emotions and nothing more, Bella’s is a advanced version of that same gift where she is protected from all gifts that affect the mind. The details of this is something not really looked into at all but I wish was cause it could have saved so much heartache in the later books/movies.
Also the nightmares she keeps having are of when James tried to kill her. With Edward there while she slept, she felt safe. When he left, the nughtmares started.
BTW Aro (the Volturi with the mind reading ability) is played by Michael Sheen aka Aziraphale from Good Omens
In the books Jake explaines that hes shirtless to prevent ruining his clothes. Phasing takes time to learn how to control.

Have you ever seen "SharkBoy and LavaGirl?" It has a younger Taylor Lautner and my kids used to watch it all the time! It's pretty cheesy, but I think you guys would enjoy it :) Lol about dating a warewolf if you're a dog person! 😂
Just a reminder Jacob is played in this movie by a 16/17 years old.
Keep in mind the whole not aging part. Edward died at 17 - his brain development goes no further. He's also an emotional teen and always will be. Time may have given him patience through experience, but that's as far as it goes. It's not remotely logical to think she'd be "safe" when he knows Victoria is out there or that he should be making their relationship decisions for the both of them. It's immaturity from a guy that's 100 years old, but he still has the brain of 17 year old. The rest of this family is young too. That's why a lot of their decisions and actions don't make sense.
I never got past the first movie but I enjoyed watching it with the both of you. Fun watch.
Rosalie told Edward about Alice’s vision to try to get him to move on so he already thinks she’s dead when he calls and Jacob answers
Q: can you love two people at once? Q: is polyandry okay? Viable? Possible? Q: Human/Vampire/Wolf-is that interspecies nookie? These and other questions…
We need all to calm down. We have cellphones, cant we communicate? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 honestly i laughed so hard 😂😂😂😂😂 thats the best quote 🎉🎉🎉🎉

This movie is not the best in the franchise by any means but it's got more Jacob and finally some actual shapeshifter lore, which I love. It's a common misconception that Jacob and the pack are werewolves, when they are in fact shapeshifters that assume wolf-form. They are descended from the ancient spirit warriors of the Quileute tribe. The main difference between a shapeshifter and a werewolf is that a werewolf has no control over when they turn, which is usually on a full moon, while a shapeshifter does. Shapeshifters don’t need the full moon to transform and their condition is the result of a gene, whereas werewolves are usually bitten or cursed. Also, shapeshifters can turn into any animal, though in Twilight they mostly turn into wolves. There are werewolves in the books called the Children of the Moon. Phasing is a sudden and violent process, causing their clothes to shred (which is why they are usually shirtless). Only males were believed to be able to phase until the transformation of Leah Clearwater, which surprised everyone, even though "she is a direct descendant of the spirit chiefs". The transformation generally occurs when a boy reaches manhood and is accompanied by a sudden growth spurt lasting for about two months, a dramatic rise in body temperature and intense mood swings (which is why Jacob was acting the way he was in the movie theatre). It is usually triggered when a tribal member encounters the scent of vampires and senses the tribe's need of protection. It can also be triggered by anger, as it was for Jacob. To become human again, the shapeshifter needs to calm down and concentrate. Jacob finds phasing between wolf and human form easier than most because of his paternal great-grandfather, Ephraim Black, a tribal chief and his maternal great-grandfather Quil Ateara II, meaning he has inherited the shapeshifting gene from both sides of his family. Also, Jacob didn't know he was a shapeshifter until he started phasing, he genuinely thought the stories were just stories. The colour of a vampire's eyes in Twilight changes based on their diet and thirst levels. Vampires with golden/yellow eyes like the Cullens only consume animal blood (they call themselves "vegetarians"), making them more capable of being around humans. Black eyes indicate the need to feed. In about two weeks, if the vampire doesn't feed, their eyes will go completely black. When they reach that point they become very dangerous, as they will do anything to get any type of blood. Vampires with red eyes usually only consume human blood. Newborns also have bright red eyes due to the human blood still present in them. Those with red eyes are usually irrational, hot-headed and travel in small groups. The actors in the franchise found wearing colored contact lenses uncomfortable. Bella pisses me off so much, especially in this movie. Putting herself in harms way and literally trying to kill herself because she misses her boyfriend?! I'm not minimising how a person feels when they go through heartbreak but this is so toxic. Btw, when Bella kept seeing Edward, he wasn't really there. It was just an hallucination trying to keep her from doing something reckless and dangerous. I do think that Jacob needs to let it go but Bella is also using him because Edward is gone and leading him on, which is so messed up. Fun facts: The producers were planning to recast Taylor Lautner if he couldn't train hard enough in time to film this movie. But Taylor was committed to playing Jacob and trained intensely for 9 months to bulk up as soon as production wrapped on the first movie. His prep included consuming 4,000 calories per day, eating every 2 hours and working out for 2 hours at least 5 days a week. He gained over 25 pounds of muscle before filming. I haven't read the books (except a bit of the first one) but I know that the scene where Bella is in the chair while a few months passed, in the book there was just the name of each month in the middle of the page. I think they translated that very well on screen. There was some foreshadowing in the first movie, after Jacob talked to Bella outside of prom, Edward said "I leave you alone for two minutes and the wolves descend". Furthermore, a painting of a wolf can be seen in Bella's bedroom in the first movie. The movie contains a reference to the picture on the book cover: When Carlisle sets fire to the blood and glass from the cut on Bella's arm they form the shape and colour of the ruffled tulip on the cover. Tyler Posey was Stephenie Meyer's first choice to play Jacob and he made it far in the audition process. He would later land the leading role of a werewolf on MTV's Teen Wolf. Before joining the franchise as a member of the Volturi named Caius, Jamie Campbell Bower could have played Edward. He appeared briefly in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 as young Grindelwald (who took the Elder Wand). Michael Sheen took on the role of Volturi coven leader Aro because his daughter Lily (with Kate Beckinsale) was a massive fan of the series.

yes the relationships are toxic. the only remotely nontoxic relationship in the franchise is bella and her mom.
Please react to the Underworld movies!!!

Just thinking that.
Bella in the books loved jacob as a brother and best friend, not romantically.
You guys are the cutest ,I love watching your reactions together also you should watch the next move in the franchise “eclipse “ y’all are so funny
Random fun-fact: jacob n his pack are not werewolves but shape-shifters; it's different. In th twilight's universe, real werewolves are a different supernatural species
14:05 - That dreamcatcher was a waste of time😏. You guys should watch the "Echo" series (if you haven't yet, obviously) when you're done with Twilight - it's like watching a mini reunion. 54:14 - Vampires, in general, feel everything _a lot_ more intensely than humans, so when they feel love it's an "even-after-the-universe-cease's-to-exist" kind of love. If the one they love dies, the sadness and depression will also be a million times worse. That Jacob is the one who answered the phone couldn't have helped, either.
Glad you guys enjoyed the movie! Loved the reaction! If you like the over the top drama, you're in for a ride 😁 Looking forward to the next one :)
Edward didnt push her hard, he was just trying to move yer but he's so strong and he wasnt paying attention since he had to focus on Jasper. This is why even kissing her is difficult for him because if he gets even just a little distracted or loses control just a little, he could break her bones or kill her.
What is terribly funny about Twilight re: Romeo & Juliet is that so many, including Meyer (I think) think of the play as a romance. It's not. It's a tragedy. It's flat out stated to the audience in the beginning of the play. The tragic death of their children brings an end to a bitter rivalry and grudge between two families. It's really a story about what you can lose if you let pettiness and pride continue for generations. It focuses on the "love" between Romeo and Juliet because it's so new and joyful. It counters the spite the two families have held against each other for years, if not generations, and the audience getting to know the characters through the play makes the deaths so much more tragic and the pain of the families so acute. Meyer has said that Shakespeare and Austen were major influences to her writing, and you can definitely see it. This misconception and attempt to die is very in line with the actions in Romeo & Juliet. The thing is, considering the actual depth and intention of the play goes amiss, I don't think that she really understood the play? Or, at least she's trying to juggle too many things for the pieces to come together. But, if we're going with "these children are are being the absolutely dumbest" then she DID actually nail Romeo & Juliet with the over the top death-seeking behaviour. And I don't know if you can really blame here when almost ever bloody remake of R&J is deeefinitely made out to be a romance. It's like if you started your understanding of Lancelot with First Knight. Richard Gere as Lancelot with a beautiful Guinevere, who's married to the older Arthur played by Sean Connery? Uh, yes. Yes, you are supposed to totally root for Lance and Gwen. Now... if you read the actual historical accounts, like Lancelot of the Cart and things by Malory... I want to strangle him and punt him off a flipping cliff. He is bloody nauseating. He is the most obsessed creep. And I swear he's the only one that comes across like that. So I don't know if that was charming in Malory's time or what. No one else was as bloody painful as Lancelot so I have no idea. Gawain and the Green Knight is highly entertaining, and I think has to be at least one of the original "Whatever you do to my ______, I do to you." plots. Which is pretty hilarious. And Percival almost loses his virginity to the actual devil in disguise (which no one else in the class seemed to catch???). And, of course you have Tristan and Isolde, which also ends in tragedy. But at least they are adults and married other people and have experienced some life. And, also there was a love potion. I guess, ultimately, it feels like New Moon takes some elements from Romeo & Juliet, perhaps without as much depth. But Shakespeare borrowed from all manner of sources as well. Of course there were many instances where he did something great with them, to the point most people today will only equate it back to him. It's cool to see how things get used and reused over time. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they are poor, and sometimes they are meh.
Lmao I'm cracking up at the thumbnail

Credit to Quynh!
as far as the family voting to turn her. the show doesn;t really go into vampires. they don't fall in love very often and they are absolutely devoted to them nearly as much as wolves are to those they imprint on. the family knows edward will not live in a world where she does not exist. if she doesn't turn edward will kill himself eventually maybe after she dies of old age at 109 but eventually. as far as bella and jacob. she does love him. i'm not sure it is that type of love at all, but even if it is she loves edward more.
I remember being like 12-13 yo reading this book and was so annoyed there was so much Jacob and not Edward xD This is such a nostalgic series lol
I saw this in the movie theater and I swear, when Jacob took off his shirt, people in the audience were like "wow, oh my god!" and giggling. When Edward did it it was dead silent. That made me laugh most of all! And I would totally prefer Spike or Angel over these kind of vampires. These are like the vampires you ordered from Temu or Wish.
yay I have been looking forward to this. I love when people watch because they are so weird it is fun to see the reactions.
Something the movies don't make clear is when a person starts to turn into wolf, they start to mature into an adult in their prime at a rapid pace ie. in a matter of months Jacob was supposed to go from a scrawny 16 year old boy to a 25year old, well built, muscular man, hence the hyper aggression, moodiness & him needing to not be seen in public for a good part of the year. They had planned to recast the Jacob role to play the role after he gains the ability to turn into a wolf as there is only so much that can be done to make a 17 year old look like a fully mature adult of 25/26 years old, but the actor fought hard for the role & managed to keep it, which was probably good, as if they had recast Jacob to fit the actual description of the books, a lot of the Bella & Jacob stuff may have come off very differently on screen compared to how it does with just a muscled up & moody Jacob looking a few years older than he was lol.
I'd vote team Jacob, just like I did back in the old days when these films came out... I mean, Edward is 109 and Bella is 17.. just take out the whole vampire bit and think about it. lol

Omg I love this reaction!! You’re both so funny! Jake is definitely the guy I liked better when I read New Moon & watched the movie so I understand your bias haha
looked through some of the comments and didnt see anyone say this, but, the reason all the wolves cut their hair is because their hair length as wolves is the same as their length as humans, so if they left their hair long they would be incredibly shaggy and it would be inconvenient in battle, and just annoying im sure
The thumbnail is so funny 😂
Quynh, one day when you want to be enraged out of your head by a love triangle, watch She’s So Lovely, with Robin Wright, John Travolta, and Sean Penn. That movie is fantastic, thrilling, and beyond fracked up. If you two ever watch it, I hope you have a great time with it. You may want to stock the room with some cushions to throw at the walls.
I have a love-hate relationship with this franchise. Maybe because I read the books even though they were pretty cheesy. I always think about how the story could be told so much better because the plot is good. And 53 so I read these books when I was probably 40 to see what my kids were reading lol. As an adult, I do have issue with some of the red flag relationship toxicity that I guess would have seemed romantic as a teenager.

teenager at the time. we absolutely saw the red flags. we just didn't care. much like the characters
Only thang I liked about this movie was how advanced the visual effects were for the wolves
