Great review! I'm definetely going to look into purchasing Frontpoint Services for my home!

The stay alarm will need door sensors. I made the same mistake and I have since ordered and installed sensors on the rest of my home. It was the salesman who told me motion sensors alone were fine. My wife pointed out that the motion sensors would be useless when staying home since they would not be armed.

Great questions. The camera they had at the time did not have IR so it could not see in the dark. That made it useless in my opinion, the new ones have IR so I can not speak to the quality yet. I started with the video surveillance and when I saw it had no night vision I returned them it for a full refund. I believe the camera feature was $5/month more at the time. It wouldnt hurt to try it first before going full IP camera. If it does work for you it would be integrated into one app :)

Keychain tamper open usually means the case is not fully shut. This is a feature to make sure no one has tampered with the device. Perhaps try to take the shell off and place it back on the back?

Hey Jeff, you might consider making an updated video to reflect the Rebranding and Updates that Frontpoint has gone through this past year.

What was that horn at 5:01? Scared the shit out of me! lol

I have had nothing but trouble with front point installation. Front Point has quick response time and a good monitoring service, but when it comes to installation, there has always been problems that take a week or more to get resolved. Like right now my sensor 1 just stopped working even after changing out the battery. So they send a new one free of charge and supposedly activated it from their end. Although it chimes, it won't arm itself. It keeps saying "Keychain Tampered Open."

I have no idea. I just heard it for the first time as well

I would ask when calling Front Point. I would do that in case my model is different than the newest one they may give out now. It could look the same on the outside and be different on the inside.

Nice review. You said you weren't going to keep the camera. I'm debating whether I want to go with their ultimate package (with video surveillance) or the interactive that doesn't include video surveillance. What are your thoughts? Do you think its worth getting the video surveillance and is there any extra charges for usage? I guess another option would be the interactive package and setting up my own IP camera.

Cypress, What model # is that GE XT? Is it the GE SIMON XT 600-1054-95R WIRELESS PANEL? I've seen different model numbers but I want to know exactly which model # Front Point uses? Thanks!

What if u don't have Internet service? I just recently moved. The cable won't be till next week. However I have my frontpointsecurity box now. Can I set everything up by calling the company on the phone?

+Claroboy911 It varies on how many windows, doors, smoke alarms etc you have. Also you have the option of a new control panel. Each home is very different from another. So it would be hard to tell you a price for mine as it would be impossible to be the same for yours.

I'm just wondering what happen when the batteries runs out on your sensors?

How much did you have pay for all your equipment? The 10 sensors?

Frontpoint has great reviews but they could do better on their monitoring prices. I found this company Armorax that has similar plans to Frontpoint but are more reasonable and they even offer encryption!

Cypress Lakes Thanks Jeff! I just activated mine last Saturday and so far so good! I love how you have the ability to activate the alarm while you are at home and can bypass certain sensors while keeping others armed. I used a discount off of Angie's List that included 11 sensors for only $199.00. Thanks again :)

MissRomalyn Glad you like it. We arm our house from our phones which is a great feature. Now it is not a big deal if we forget to arm the house before jumping into bed for the night.

Yes you can. Evan in an apartment.

This does not use wifi. It uses cellular signal just like your cell phone does.

That smoke alarm will fall off soon with just tape.

Thanks. It took about 18 months for it to fall. It does have the option to use the install plate to anchor to wall or ceiling. I emailed front point and they sent me new stickers free to reattach the smoke detector to the wall.

That is why I like the trial period. If you don't like it simply send it back. I think with anything online you will get 1 person complain for every 100 who are happy. I heard that a much cheaper company has an issue with encryption packets from a neighbor but I have not seen it in person. For the most part you get what you pay for and securing the home with its valuables and family for me is not something I want to save $10/month for. But for others that may be a big deal and I understand that as well.

I would never recommend this system to anyone like the other guy said when you trying to cancel they will still trying to say whatever to get money out of you even though you never sign up for that three year contract they will tell you that you sign up electronically if you looking for home system do not sign up for this company go with ADT or some home based company

+kaying thao ADT is horrible. I did not sign up for a contract and I am month to month. If anyone signs into a contract that is their option and no one forces a contract on anyone. If someone decides to sign a three year deal to get a discount on equipment that is a personal choice. I paid cash and never did that. If I had signed a contract I would have saved around $900. So signing a contract is good or bad on a personal scenario. In any case personal responsibility in signing any contract is required among adults.
