I hope Jonathan is kept alive this time, for a long time. I've always found both Kent parents to be best when they're alive. Being able to turn to the people who raised him for guidance is one of the things that can set Clark apart from Kara. And from so many other superheroes. And it'd be nice for Pruitt to have the opportunity to make multiple appearances.

funny how John Byrne (before him it was only done in 1948 serial with Kirk) made them alive in comics while Clark is Super MAN and he got massive hate for that one (too). And now you typing here that a massive change that set him apart from 50 years of previous canon is what makes him different from other heroes. Imagine that some writer will make uncle Ben alive and for 20-30 years it will get picked up by stuff like cartoons too and then people will be "what sets Spider-Man apart from others is that he lives with his uncle and aunt" just mentioning context and how silly it looks in overall context of the character. Especially because with new52 Kents once again became both dead (for which Superman "fans" on forums accused DC of making Superman "too much like Batman" when opposite is true) before Clark becomes Superman (except for time travel moment in similar way how it was done in Bronze Age in Action Comics 507 and 508 except other way around) and now it is kinda both depending on the writer's wishes. And in actual comics, before Donner movie (ie All-Star , which is alt universe, and Geoff Johns run which got almost immediately reboots) it was John/Jonathan that died LAST and Mary/Martha who died first. At least per all writers that weren't Siegel. Per Siegel they just passed away off screen and only after that Clark is shown wearing Superman costume, hiding his powers like how father (unnamed in final Siegel version) told him to and using them when time is right to help people how Mary Kent told him to.

He is such an amazing actor, I know him as Agent LaRoche from Mentalist. People should watch his performance. Such a great actor, steals every scene.

I thought Michael Rooker could be Pa Kent, maybe in a flashback. Casting an older actor maybe implies that Gunn will go the route of both parents being alive when Superman is already stablished, like in the DCAU. Personally, I like that very much.

Pa Kent should be an established actor that is a household name. This guy gives serial killer vibes, that's why he mostly plays villains. Also he doesn't look like a guy who has farmed his whole life either. He may be a great actor but I don't see him as Pa Kent

The dude is great in everything I've seen him in, but usually he is playing scary or mentally unwell characters. Should be a nice change of pace.
