My Foolish Heart - Beegie Adair
Beegie Adair plays My Foolish Heart with feeling... in her unique smooth jazz piano style.
from her 2006 album 'Quiet Romance'.
This songbook standard was written by Victor Young (1949) for a movie of the same name, starring Susan Hayward and Dana Andrews. The song was nominated for an Oscar.
Bing Crosby, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra... all the singing legends have recorded My Foolish Heart. It was Sinatra's very last single, recorded in 1988.
The Margaret Whiting version recorded in 1950 is a good example of style, tempo and expression of the time.
A great song, ready for revival by today's singers.

Beegie Adair entertains a whole orchestra with her playing and her keys all by herself, even without accompaniment! - A wonder! - It will go down in history forever with its divine sounds! - .- May your piano playing illuminate the world for a long time. -.

Susan Hayward and Dana Andews Stars in The Sky
Thank you indeed for this lovely music .
What a beauty...
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Just Wonderful Beegie!
Smooth is the wrong word. This is deep and true.. It has to be listened to "vertically", that is paying attention to the wonderful harmonic threading that is in itself as satisfying as the tune - and all teliing the story so clearly!

Very perceptive comment Kevin. So you will understand why I'm such a desperate fan of Beegie Adair's piano. I see one of your liked videos is the Astaire/Charisse classic "Dancing in the Dark", Perhaps you would enjoy that scene mixed with Beegie's piano version? Here it is kzread.info/dash/bejne/aGl-s6aEgNCxgsY.html

Smooth is a wrong word on multiple levels here. "Smooth jazz" has come to mean a very specific genre, and Adair's work is anything but that. ;)

Yes Daniil Baturin.... You and Kevin are right... Smooth jazz is a poor description of Beegie's style. But I need to use words that are as close as I can find. Please suggest a more accurate description and I'll use it. One or two simple words that can be understood by all.
Sublime.
ah, when i'm in love.
