My first week WORKING IN ARGENTINA | Oxford University student year abroad

I had such a great first week working in Argentina! This is where a modern languages degree can take you and I am so excited to explore more of this incredible country!
Thanks to Leyla, Matt and Tim for all the work they do for this channel. The music and introduction as well as a lot of the thumbnails are all their work.

Very interesting - you're so capable, not many people would be able to take it all in their stride like you're doing!

Very interesting first-week video, thanks a lot for that! Maybe there is a bicycle rental close-by? And maybe the students would enjoy and appreciate you asking them about the use of this specific tense in Argentina… the self-esteem needed to be able to do that, very admirable 😉 Did you like Animal Farm? Good luck and continuing joy in teaching!

Thank you! I have definitely been asking lots of questions about local colloquial terms and learning about grammar nuances a lot. I did enjoy Animal Farm and the metaphor works so vividly is impressive, to say the least...

@@arthurbown-mazzoniSorry, maybe the remark about asking about tenses sounded criticising which was not intended at all. Had thought specifically about the students… We had a teacher once in highschool who was very admired because he was asking the students too, thus engaging us on a so far unknown level 🙃Thanks a lot for your reply!

Do you mean the present perfect continuous in sentences such as " I have been working" or Present Perfect such as "I have been to the town." ?

@@arthurbown-mazzonidon´t know how it goes in Spanish, but I find it quite clunky for some reason in German.

@@neilfazackerley7758 It sounds perfectly okay in Spanish but I think the reason I'm overusing it is because it is the only verb tense used in oral French for that time frame whereas in Spanish you have the present perfect and, to an extent, the preterite

@@arthurbown-mazzoni I find it is sometimes easier not to overthink the grammar. When I started with German it was useful to do grammar. Now I am hitting C2 I am more interested in content and learning words. The odd grammar slip is not that important, provided what you say is easy to comprehend. If I learn another language I would do things differently. Hope you are enjoying yourself in Argentina.
