I’m originally from Georgia. Grew up in this park in the 80s and 90s. First roller coaster ever was Great American Scream Machine. It was cool to see a few spots of nostalgia, but even crazier to see the amount of change it has had in the last 25 years which is the last time I was there.

This brought back so much nostalgia for me. In Middle School we'd always do a yearly field trip to Atlanta for Band competitions and we'd always go to Six Flags over Georgia. Monster Mansion was my absolute favorite ride too (I'm not a big coaster fan but water rides and arcade games were my jam!)

Oh man this brings back summer memories. There’s some hidden gems in the park but man does it need a major face lift especially with it being one of the original true 6 flags parks

we lived in atlanta for 10 years before moving to florida to be near disney. we had annual passes to six flags and went maybe 2-3 times a year compared to probably every other weekend to the orlando parks here. shows you the difference! it's just not on the same level as disney and universal but the coasters are fun. :-)

Thanks for sharing Six Flags over Georgia-I live only 2.5 hours away from Atlanta, but I have always preferred the Disney World parks and as I have gotten older, the other aspects of Orlando (I have close family there). You sharing this vlog, makes me want to return (after over 20 years since my last visit there). Thank you again for going off of beaten paths and visiting other great vacation destinations of America

Yeah, the people who told him to check it out certainly did him a favor. I loved it as a kid and still love it as an adult. I believe they run three, if not four or five, boats, which each hold nine people. So even when there's a line, it's not unbearable. And he was right about the air conditioning; it's a great ride if you've been out in the heat all day.

I’m a local in Georgia and I’ve been to Six Flags Over Georgia ever since I was a little kid (I’m 15 now). I love all the rides there and I’ve rode almost every single ride there. I rode the Catwoman whip a couple of months before this video was posted and it’s definitely not for the faint hearted. It definitely makes you feel sick and it does get scary at certain parts (I don’t tend to get scared on rides or even scream on them, but this one scared me a bit). The Batman ride is fun, but it does make you feel sick too. Superman and the Goliath are two of my favorite rollercoasters there. The Minetrain (Mindbender is good too) is also a fun rollercoaster for younger kids and even older people. I can go on and on about the rides at Six flags, but I’m glad you enjoyed your time there. I also wanted to add that the place where you said that it looked like there used to be a ride there, well at one point there actually was. I rode it when I was younger and it was a very fun, but a bit scary water ride. It went fast and it had a big drop at the end and water would splash all over you.

That derelict water ride was called Splash Water Falls. I visited SFOG several times during the late 80's to early 90's, and I loved Splash Water Falls during hot summer visits because that ride could get you absolutely drenched. We'd get soaked on the ride at the bottom of the drop, then follow the exit path to the bridge that crosses in front of that drop. Then we'd stop there and hold onto the rail and wait for another boat to take that drop. That splash would just completely drench us a second time, and on a roasting hot summer day, it was amazing! R.I.P. Splash Water Falls.

Six flags looked a little old and dated. I used to go when I was a young tween pretty often and haven’t been in many years and I guess I was surprised to see how dated it looked. I am sure it was nice that the crowds weren’t anything like Disney but kind of sad to see that crowds were not like they used to be. Wish they would update the park a little. We had heard it was looking run down. Thanks for sharing this video though it brought back some childhood memories as I’ve not seen it since I was a lot younger. It’s been about 30 years since I’ve been back there.

Awesome video Dev! You got lucky with a slow day this time of year! We covered thins park before moving to Orlando. This park does have an awesome coaster line up. Happy that you had a good day there you showcased this park well. see you in the parks! The mind bender was just re tracked last year and new cars where placed on it as well. The scream machine was also just redone as well. It was a few years for the scream machine to get referbed, it really needed it. They also count that as a 3 loop coaster and it is an ACE landmark. All the flat rides that where added into Gotham where placed there about 2 yrs ago, and that batman coaster is one of the oldest ones out there and does need some love. The merch in the park has always been really affordable. The axis theater was used for the batman stunt show. That ride was splash river falls, they took that out a few years ago. That superman is the only superman coaster that used the lay out of the land into the track design. This is the 1st year for the fuel rods in that park. This park also really doesnt have many characters out in the park ever. That valet parking is new to that park as well.

I can't believe it, you at my home park. I was there on the 4th for my birthday!!! How amazing would that have been to see you there. So sorry you couldn't ride Dare Devil - That is the smoothest ride ever. They use to have an amazing show inside the axis chemical area. They just redone Mindbender, it is not as good as it use to be. Oddly enough I don't do heights (yet, I love coasters), but have gotten the nerve to do Catwoman whip, Pandemonium or Acrophobia. Metropolis is my favorite (AS is MIB), I hit top 1% most of the time. They just redone and they need to advertise that on the Scream Machine, it is much smoother now. You missed the BlueHawk coaster. So glad to were able to visit. Loved the coverage you did.

The superman coaster is an awesome ride. If you watch people riding that wooden coaster,it throws people around near the end of the ride. My grandkids rode that, and even they were hurting when they got off. They said they would never ride that one again!

My home theme park!!!! So glad you enjoyed your time!! And I’m with you on Batman, I haven’t wrote it in years, it’s always made me lightheaded. And I don’t do the great American scream machine anymore either. It’s very rough.

Love the video. I’ve spent many summers there. Maybe come back during Halloween time for their fright fest.

The Monster Mansion looks like a fever dream but also oddly entertaining. Watched the footage of that twice LOL

PC Dev! Welcome to the ATL! We enjoy your channel and tips. We just returned from US/IOA/VB last week. What a surprise to see you here🙂 IMO Six Flags is a different type of theme park compared to UNIVERSAL. This one def needs a revamp! I’ve been frequenting this park since I was a kid and began bringing my little one fornthrnlast 10 years. We’ve been passholders for SF for quite a few years but felt we were due for an upgrade, so now we’re UOAP! Enjoy your time 🙃

The monster mansion surprised me. Didn't know six flags had it in them to do this type of dark ride

I’m really glad you enjoyed the theme park I grew up with living less than half an hour away from Six Flags the family and I went quite often. Also thought you would enjoy a few little facts on top of it Monster mansion was originally Tales of the Okefenokee which took inspiration from the tales of Uncle Remus which eventually gave birth to Splash Mountain at Disney as well, after that it had closed after a fire and some other issues and it became the monster plantation but within the last 10 years or so they re-themed it to the monster mansion for obvious reasons Fun fact number two my dad actually worked on Goliath he tested the concrete that was used as the foundation to make sure it was good quality and the soil was good for the laying of the foundation. And a little sub fact when he looked at the blueprints at the highest point of Goliath if you spit a luge just the right time you used to be able to hit the Georgia cyclone back when that was up

Cool to see someone explore a park that has been our “childhood” park forever! Wish you could’ve seen the Batman Stunt Show that used to be in the Gotham area years ago, it was right up there with Indy at Hollywood Studios
