He has many beautiful songs without the highs and lows, so don't always expect to hear a large octave range in his songs.

Dimash, Igor Krutoy (Conductor, composer and producer), Yerlan “Erlan” Bekchurin (arranger) and Olzhas Qurmanbeck (Master of playing the Qoobyz or “Kobyz”, which is a two-stringed bipolyphonic instrument of Kazakh origin, very sacred in Kazakhstan): The Magnificent Four! We also have lyrics by Sharon Vaughn (USA) and arrangements by Dimitri Kontopoulos (Greece) and Yerlan Bekchurin (Kazakhstan)!

The Kobyz, or Kylkobyz, is an ancient Turkic bowed string instrument popular among Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. Its Kyrgyz variant is known as the Kyl-Kyyak. The Qobyz features two strings made of horsehair and a resonating cavity typically covered with goat leather.

The last two notes all in one breath lasted 20 seconds. The final note itself was 17 seconds or beats, if you will. A measure is a series of beats or seconds the length of which is determined by the time signature of the song.

The instrument is a Kobyz They say it is an ancient Kazak instrument but it is known in Spain as well. If i had to guess, I would say it was actually a Hebrew instrument since the tribes of Israel passed over the Caucasus Mountains in Eurasia and many moved to Spain 700 or so years B.C.

This occured at New Wave, Sochi, Russia, a competition to showcase young performers. Dimash was a judge and used his fame to attract audience for the young people. He did 4 performances at this event and 3 were song premieres😃 🎶🎹🔥🌹💜🌹🔥🎹🎶 Dimash gives 3 to 3.5 hour Concerts. Because no human being can sing Olympic level songs for 3 hours, Dimash also has a collection of less vocally challenging songs, playful or fun songs and sing along songs. Because his audience flies in from up to 70 countries, all speaking different languages, some of his songs have simple lyrics to make it easier to learn when you do not speak the language.😏 Some Dears have his songs memorized in several languages so they can sing along at the Concerts. I am presently learning a Kazak song phonetically despite the fact that I can barely hold a note🙄😂😂😂 just in case, I come into money and can travel to a Dimash Concert someday.❤ 🥰🥰Big hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

At the beginning sounds an old Turkic stringed instrument called Kobys. It is probably the oldest bowed stringed instrument in the world and it spread to became the prototype of all European string instruments as violin an chello. That and the use of the fa minor key in the composition gives the vibe of Middle East /oriental/ exotic sound. Think he´s singing to migrants in general: "New ground far as I can see, new ground underneath my feet, Stranger in a stranger land, new chance to see who I am if I have the strength to begin again" Reminds me also to the Old Testament; Exodus 2:22 Moses, “And she bore him a son, and he called his name Gershom [that is, A stranger there]; for he said, “I have been a stranger in a strange land.”
