My First Roll of Film with my Nikon FM | Fuji200
In this video I talk to you about my experience shooting my new Nikon FM using a Fuji 200 test roll. Here I talk about, the camera, my experience, and also show you my photographs. It is my first time shooting an analogue SLR and I loved the experience.
Enjoy with me the experience of shooting 35mm.

You have just described mine own sentiments regarding this camera, Coni; I've had an FM for more years than I care to disclose, but suffice to say, it has never let me down; the advantages of an all-mechanical camera (notwithstanding the battery-driven lightmeter) are obvious; it also gives us (as users) an opportunity to pause whilst composing any, one given subject - & therein lies the beauty & satisfaction that, quite frankly, digital imagery doesn't possess - primarily because it is sterile; of course, that last remark is an arguable point, but until you experience that which analogue photography offers, one's horizons are implacably limited. Subconsciously, it's been a long time since I heard the expression, "Sunny 16 Rule", yet ironically, it is a mandate that I employ every time I pick up an any camera - the garnered experience, over time, will serve you well. A very self-effacing presentation, thank you ! Already subscribed. Andrew.
The Nikon FM is a wonderful film camera. Excellent build quality, easy to set exposures with it's LED diode exposure indicators in the viewfinder, and the camera is simplicity itself in it's controls layout and operation. No excess of pushbuttons and dials..just the basics for what you need to make excellent photographs. I've had mine since 1980 and it's my favorite film camera in my collection.
I especially liked your photograph of the young man and the kitty!
You have done well with your exposure settings. I have been making photographs for 50 years and still need the comfort of a meter, much respect to you for how you are doing your photography.

thank you so much :)
You did very good getting the exposure right on almost all the shots, great job.
Neat! Thanks for sharing your experience, I love the fun in the process. Great exposure explanation, wonderfuly succint.
I love your cat wow!
Very interesting photo's past few days i am thinking to purchase Film cameras
Very well done with your exposure settings 👍
I have fm silver color..and i love it ❤
You cannot compare the mamiya tlr with the FM, the C33’s quality is one of the best. I myself have a fm and fe and still love them.
I remember when I tried to get enough money in 1978 to buy one. Had to borrow money because I could not wait anymore. Took hundreds of pictures with it. Before that I had a cheap range finder.
Totally agree..the Nikon FM is a great camera, I use the FM2n. FYI, Fuji C200 is currently made by Kodak and is Kodak Gold 200. Looking forward to more interesting content. Keep up the good work!
I’ve been shooting with a Nikon FM for many years. I love it. It’s fun to use different types of film and occasionally get some cool light leaks.
I worked with Japanese, Russian and German cameras, but I really couldn’t find anything better than Nikon FM. Yes, the Russian Helios has beautiful bokeh, the Pentax has very sharp optics and reliable mechanisms, but the FM is really the coolest of all! Now my digital camera is out of order, there is no way to quickly repair/replace it and I have to go with film cameras, but this is even fun! As a university photographer, I attract more attention than students/teachers speaking at some conference, it’s so much fun :)
Your pictures turned out nice - I’ve never tried the sunny 16 rule, etc. Will give it a go.. Nice review. : )
Wise of you to buy an adjustable camera. If "we" are going to enjoy photography our cameras need to challenge us, just a little, when we shoot. Good video, keep shooting and having fun.
I was waiting for the Cat. I got an FM about a month ago, and I love it. I can testify that the meter is accurate. I have a lot of film and digital cameras, but this one is the simplest of all.
I shall get mine out the om1 is smaller but can jam
You earned a subscriber once you showed the cat!! 😊
Hi 😊 funny I found this video. I started trying film photography two months ago, also with a Nikon FM 😅 I was happy with the results but yours are much better! Looking forward for your videos!

ooh that's great! I hope the videos are somehow useful for youu. I'd love to know how your process goes, keep me updated :)
this is a wonderful camera, i use nikon since a long time, i have a f301 and a FM2n, had a f80, f90x and a FE2 , the younger models got those sticky plastic i don`t like, i sold them.. the FM is great...btw. i use a yashica 124 mat G, looks like the mamiya.. ;-) greets BM
I have the same and camera setup. I'm still working through my first roll. I made the mistake of using the P3200 film as my first roll. Too hard to use 3200 ISO film during the day without totally overexposing everything. f/16, 1/1000 sec, ISO 3200 is tough for bright daylight. Subscribed to see what else you will do.

P3200 iso is about 1250 I think. You can *definitely* let more light onto it, don’t worry, just get the shots.
👍 maybe one day you can load a film into a widelux or something like that , than you can say it is a bit strange to load. but with the time everything gets better 🙂

@@conipez i was lucky enough to get one with the original mauel, but even with this the first few rolls was a bit strange to load. but after some time it is ok 🙂 and than some years later i had get the big version of it, the panon panox. there was my head a tiny bit 😵💫. take the magazin out and load the rollfilm into this and than to learn how to handle this beast was .... ja but even this works. comments are from time to time a bit usefull to get some more infos and from this point ;)
35mm is cheater than 120 so that helps me feel free
it's kind of weird to that 60% of the video is over before the first photo shown
