@@bigcountry908 no Texas speed built a 2500 hp capable solid roller ls I believe a smx would be alot farther in the future that's over a 100k engine it's to much engine for the current setup in all honesty that's a 5 second setup mullet would need alot of changes to make it useful

I love how safety conscious Cleetus really is - check at 18:04 where he's training muscle memory for the chute lever - it's just a default step in the mental protocol for him. And how he kept his cool is just fantastic! So glad nothing happened. Congrats on both runs, Cleetus!

I agree! Cleetus can drive the shit out of anything. James and Cleet are one or a kind, down to earth guys. I remember in one video some stuff went wrong with the cars, and Cleet says "well we accomplished the goals we came here to do." They proceeded to have a blast and worry about that later. Much respect!

Cleet has given so many folks the opportunity to run their fastest passes in Ruby. Seeing him get a chance to do the same in Tom's car is just awesome. Tom is such a legend - subscribed to his channel as soon as he announced he was doing youtube on his instagram - definitely go subscribe to his channel people!

Tom really sounds like a dad sending his precious daughter with Cleetus on her Prom night hahaha

@Andrey Angere I could be wrong, but he buys everything. And the fact that it is the car that started it all would be icing on the cake to have in his arsenal. And Tom has a few other cars such as 2.0, that he could use the money towards getting that back up and going. I'm sure Tom doesn't need the money, but we could ALL use a few extra dollars every now and then. And just kinda how they were talking about them in both cleets and Tom's videos. And I have been 100% spot on with all of his previous purchases. He drops eggs every now and then

Watching this back and see Steve go over the valve lashing again, you can really tell Cleetus had already put that SM Engine order in haha.

You can actually see in his eyes when the fear is replaced by adrenaline. Simply the best feeling ever.

Watching both Leroy and ruby run down the track thinking they’re crazy fast then watching this beast run down and seeing how fast it got away from the line is quite impressive

It's a lot of overstimulation mentally, even just sitting down doing nothing, it feels like very bad anxiety and its difficult to focus on something, in other words it's hard to find something that can not only keep your mind at bay but also find something you can enjoy. It's a big deal to people like us, the 20 minutes of peace and not having to deal with the mental unpleasantness really means a lot. It's like trying to drive a car that bucks and surges, cuts out, etc. When you finally drive over a smooth road and the engines running perfectly its awesome, to most people that would just be driving Hope that helps, it was hard to explain

Cleetus has proven his driving skills in so many situations, but this by far takes the icing on the cake for his driving record. Congrats dude!

Garrett is unquestionably Tom's long lost son. Just look at the way Tom looks at Garrett, I literally have not ever seen him smile at anybody else before, at least not all genuine and authentically pleased like he is here. This is really nice to watch the older generation and maybe THE youngest person out here running his own record holding program; working together and recalling how each of them have influenced the other, it is so damn cool To make it short, i LOVE seeing tom and cleeter hang out together. There is so much history and chemistry between them, they should DEFINITELY be doing more stuff together. If they come out for drag week with each of them in a camaro i am seriously going to lose my freakin shit

For as much time as Garrett spends in cars going down the track you can tell at 12:51 in the video he was all business. He knew it was such a opportunity ! What a great car!! and pair of guy! Cleetus and Tom!

I commented on Toms video the same thing. I think Mullet needs a Steve Morris Engine in it, once you top out the 427LS. That guy knows how to make stuff go fast reliably.

Watching Tom and Cleetus eyes when the parachute doesn’t deploy ... priceless 😂

I think they were showing the shims because I'm guessing Cleet might run a similar setup on the elco so Steve was giving some tips for race week

They kinda mentioned in the video that people already think he is buying it and they laughed like it wasnt a thing.

@@warrenmichael918 North Texas speed is building him the baddest ls engine ever for mullet 2500 hp capable but after they tap out the car and he wants to go faster he will definitely get a different type of engine Steve Morris is already building him an engine for something watch Steve's channel a while ago I think it's just for a tow truck from the freedom factory though because it was never mentioned
