At first I was like "wait, this is a real job", I got so excited until my dreams wre shattered. I've rescued my fair share of carpet sharks, also tried the breeder route. Gotta say my rescues were some of the best behaved in the long run. I really tried the breeder because it was always hard to get attached & lose them a few years later but the breeder pair I lost 1 at 9mo & another at 3 1/2yrs to cancer. I used to work at a pet store & although the owner was great about encouraging us to be honest about the difficulties each pet would bring & we were allowed to refuse sale, it was hard seeing how nonchalant people were about giving up pets. I remember 1 ferret that we knew the owner was bathing with a bleach solution & their toddler was dragging the weasel around by his tail. They dropped him off for boarding & luckily didn't come back for what ended up being 9 months. Even after being abused he got so depressed being away from his home he quit eating. He went home with me the 3rd day & luckily them not coming back for so long made it within my rights to keep him. He was one of the most friendly, well behaved & happy ferrets I had.

Your so lucky to be able to do that. I lost my baby Gemma a few days ago just under 8 months old. It's taken me alot to just look at videos of ferrets. She touched our hearts in a BIG BIG way. She will always be loved and missed. She's in heaven and I know we'll see her again. The video was beautiful thank you 😊

As someone that's had ferrets for 17 years, I've always maintained that ferrets are god's gift to the world. Despite a host of medical problems, my ex has a rescue in Acworth, GA. Our first ferrets were brother and sister DEWS, still my favorite. I know how much of your life is devoted to being a rescue. Bless you for that

l wasn't planning on getting a 5th ferret, but each time l went into Petco, there was this poor ferret that no one wanted.....she had been there for 10 months alone and bit. l was told she would be shipped back.....l took that to mean she would then become a lab test animal. l think keeping ferrets in cages is not optimal for them.....mine live in an atrium that is larger than my bedroom and can get out and run whenever the feel like it. l bought her hoping that my business of 4 could rehabilitate her. She is much better at not biting and seems to love being with the rest of my crew.

This is so cute and it looks like you guys are taking great care of them! Though I would suggest not using shampoos for them as it can cause skin and hair problems, as well as natural oil Inbalence. Just plain water should be fine unless the ferret got into something really dirty. If you really want to put something In the water, plain oatmeal in a sock works really well for every now and then! ☺

l know...l didn't plan on getting a fifth. My 4 were quite happy as a group but everytime l went to the pet store there was this one ferret...always alone. Turns out she had been there for 10 months and no one wanted her because she bit. She did, really viciously. Her behavior was turned around within 2 months because of living with companions and learning from them. She was scheduled to be sent back, l'm assuming for covid research on Valentine's day. I got her the day before and she has turned into the sweetest girl. Named her Valentine.

They have been used for a long time for flu research. I was worried when this started because I work with the public but most tf the research I saw claimed they don't show symptoms & tend to be unaffected.
