Great explanation. If someday Ableton have idea to rebuild their UI they should hire people from FORS .

Is this similar to phasedistortion like in a casio cz?

From my understanding it's similar but not entirely the same. I think this type of synthesis builds on the concepts of phase distortion synthesis, but I have a pretty limited technical understanding of the differences.

Often all this cool modulation ends up like sounding quite farty...

Most synth waveforms when played at lower frequencies can end up sounding like that. 😂
this word holographic, I do not think it means what you think it means

To be honest I don't really understand why they called it a holographic synthesiser, but it's the word they used to describe their own product which is why I used it in the video!
