My Favourite Live Music Images From Years Of Shooting Bands
In this episode I share some of my favourite live music images that I've taken over the past ten years.
All of the images were taken with my workhorse Nikon D810 (now sold), and were from gigs in both Sydney and Melbourne.
I feel very fortunate to have seen so many huge acts up front and close, being in a photo pit directly beneath those muso's is electric, let me tell you!
Hope you enjoy.

Thanks mate. That Ben Harper gig was at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne… great night. ✌️
The timing of the Scorpions shot, with the face perfectly framed in the tambourine, jumps out for me. I just realized I haven't been to a concert in about 25 years. One of my favourite concerts ever was about 40 years ago, a band from your neck of the woods... one of the most awesome vocal bands ever, Little River Band. I didn't recognize many of these bands, but what an amazing collection, Roger 😁👍👍

Thank you, Wayne. At the Scorpions show (2016, and their first ever Australian tour) we were told that we had to pick one side of the stage and stay there (generally we’re permitted to move along in front of a stage). I was not only lucky for the vocalist, Klaus, to come to my side, but also that I was ready and prepared with a faster shutter speed. Man, I love those early LRB albums!!!! ✌️
That was so impressive, they are great shots - both in the professional sense and the living sense. Loved every shot, noted a few bands to look up. Cheers!

No Primus shot here???? My favourite. That Scorpion Shot is fantastic. Love the Black Label Society shot. Very cool. Scott Ian... Legend. Opeth shot is awesome. Processing on the Slayer shot.... so good. You Rock man.

The lighting was shocking at the Primus show, not many good images from that one. Unfortunately I didn’t get many Slayer shots that I was happy with, the lighting and stage height were difficult to work with. I was so fortunate that Klaus Meine came over to my side of the stage, and that my shutter speed was fast enough for that tambourine shot. Appreciate the support man. ✌️
Awesome pics and awesome bands. The photos of Opeth, Slayer, and the Scorpions are amazing. Body Count's also in the house, Body Count.

I had an amazing moment with Ice T at that Body Count show! It was whilst Body Count began the set with a cover of Slayer’s Raining Blood… let’s just say that T was impressed with a photographer (me) in the pit momentarily forgetting about taking pictures and raising a fist to Slayer! ✌️🤘

@@rogerbrooksfilms A healthy mix of metal, grunge, and a bit of punk. My first rock concert was when I was 15. Took a bus there, and hitchhiked back. Made it home at 7am and went straight to school.

@@FlashesOfTimehaha, brilliant! I’ve been into metal since the age of fifteen in 1980, the opportunity to shoot these bands has been mind blowing!
