This is such a fun video concept I have wanted to do for a while! It’s so fun to see how reading taste has changed over the years!

Fun Video! A Tale for the Time Being was one of the books that really got me into reading!

I also love with my whole heart A Tale for the Time Being, and I really enjoy Pachinko, too. I've added all of your others to my list. Libbra Bray wrote a different YA series that I was quite attached to as a teenager. The first one is called A Great and Terrible Beauty. It's not groundbreaking, but it is a fun one.

homegoing remains one of the first books i read for class that i ended up absolutely LOVING (excluding books i read in like, fourth grade for school). i remember being just so blown away by how it was written so seamlessly and it's just a book where the craft is simply insane. i still need to get to the other stuff yaa gyasi has written because i hear similarly good things!

If you haven't read "America is Not the Heart" by Elaine Castillo, it's worth it. Multi-generational Filipino-american story that is so good and gets at a lot of interesting social commentary. Excited that you list so many intergenerational stories here. beefing up my TBR. Congrats on 8 years!
