Very nice score! My favorite way is to find jewelry at garage and estate sales. I found a pair of 14K earings last weekend in a bag of jewelry. Gold melt is @ $73.00, there were also a pair of sterling earings and a single sterling earing. The silver paid for the $4.00 I spent and the gold was free. It is my hobby, I guess I have found about 5 onuces of gold over the last few years and spent probably around $200.00 to get it.

@@YankeeStacking I only get to go on Saturdays, unless I take a vacation day. It amazes my how many times I find stuff at estate sales either after it has been open for a few hours or on the second day. The company holding the sale missed something and so did dozens of shoppers before me. Of course this years finds have been muted by lack of sales due to the pandmic. A big tip is to go neighborhood garage sales, (which there has not been any this year) you can hit a lot of them in a short period of time and a lot of people really have no idea and just put grandma's box of jewelry out with a sign that says $1.00 each, I look see some gold or silver and offer them $20.00 for the box. Last year I scored over $500.00 on one box for $20.00.

Really smart move IF he does not leverage up with a mortgage. Buy outright and own instead of renting from the bank. Banks are heartless in hard times. Uh, really all the time. It is their business model.

Yankee, very good resource ? Two words.........Estate Sales. Many times I have scoped out a sale early, saw some nice PM's, and then I go back on the last day of the sale. The people running the sale don't want to have anything left over and they will negotiate on the final day. I got over 8 pounds of sweet junk silver for $300 a few months back. Old US mint halves, quarters, and Mercury Dimes. That is not the first, or the last time, that we have scored BIG. My wife came home from an estate sale last year with an 8 oz bag of 14 carat Gold casting grains, used by jewelers for making bracelets, rings, bezels, etc. She paid $20 for it mixed in with a bag of other stuff, almost 5 oz of pure Gold, Jackpot !

I love this. I am also in Vermont, and trying to do the same thing as Aaron (hopefully that is how he spells his name). Land here is crazy expensive, and people moving here because of Covid has nearly doubled the prices of land. Hoping I can slowly collect and then cash in.

I had the same problem. So I started taking my investment silver funds, an 25% to constitutional, 25% to premium collectors coins an rounds, 25% generic rounds an bars, an 25% to silver eagles or maple leaves. They seem to always be big hits in crisis. An you can keep the specific special ones you enjoy personally

Yes!!! Do the CM monster box! I finished an ASE monster box this past winter and started another one in January along with a CM monster box. Still need 12 tubes to complete the ASE box and 10 tubes to finish the CM box. Have not bought any Bullion coins in several months. It will take a while to finish them. Not many options in my area other than online buying. I would be open to buy from the community but not sure how to proceed. I look forward to your videos. The content is very informative and explained so even I can understand it!

I find quite a lot of sterling items (spoons, teapots etc) at antique malls for well under spot price. Not all antiques dealers are tracking on the rising price of silver and you can get some great deals. I've also found 14k gold jewelry under spot price too.

@@myes344 Depends upon what melt price is. As long as you get under melt, you are ahead. True sterling in 92.5% silver so that times melt is what you get, anything under that to buy is profit. Do enough of that and use the profit to buy bullion coins for free!!! Not free but gain for your time only. Have a friend who did garage and estate sales before Covid and made good MONEY for the trouble. I say money because he converted the currency gain as soon as he could to metals. Of couse he has been doing this for twelve years and has a good relationship with his buyer/refiner. Tagged a few real diamonds along the years as well that he moved and bought metal. His stack is one hundred percent labor, no cash spent. He also watches for real jade and has an auction house that sells that stuff for him. Not a bad side job for his retirement income. Covid has slowed him down as he is at an age that worries him and he is in Florida so not worth the risk at this time.

Great haul of goodies there. The 1 lb Maple Leaf is definitely a beauty.

I definitely know, first hand that the Buffaloes can have different finishes. I have a 2006 that is very flat finish in color, but definitely gold. I have several other Buffaloes and most have some level of consistency, but the 2006 I have definitely very blan. Purchased the 2006 and several others from same, reputable dealer.

Helpful video - thanks - relative to the Buffaloes I have 2 with the exact same issue. Both have been xrayed so I know they're real but 2 totally different tones. Thanks to the comments that provided some closure! Lol

Great video and pickups. The only reason I wouldn't do a monster box on the CML's is because of milk spotting. I know its still an ounce of silver but I don't want to put my money into something like that when there is so many other options. Thanks YS~

One of the buffaloes might be counterfeit since the feild looks like it was sand casted and rough and not flat like a press..

My favorite way is to find really good deals for silver. Then sell it a bit more expensive and keep a few coins that represent the value between buy and sell value. After some time, you trade that silver for gold and you kind of got free gold. You traded your metal knowledge to real gold 😀 Yankee, im a huge fan of your channel, since a long time. You inspired me to start my own stacking channel and you are by far the most knowledgeable channel around economy on youtube. Big thumbs up! Planning to start to melt by own coins next year, hopefully i can send you one. I hope you and your family is safe and sound!

I’ve always loved having silver, but just started stacking seriously as a hedge. I quickly learned to check antique shops that don’t necessarily stay on top of silver prices and aren’t concerned with premiums.Im buying silver eagles for just a tad over spot price.😀

I did a little google search and came up with oxidization could cause the discoloration of gold. It's the other alloy they use to harden the gold that can oxidize and cause the gold to appear toned.

My 2008 looks very similar also. Everything checks out on it too. My tube of 2014 maples look fantastic also. Weird huh.

@@YankeeStacking that doesn't make sense, 999 gold will always be exactly the same as other 999 gold no matter where it's mined or refined. The most that a .001 could do is give copper spots! The different look must be from the year/mint/finish

hey yankee just to talk about the gold buffalo's in the video. I personally have a 2019 buffalo and it looks in color close to the 2011 shown. I've seen older buffalo's before and they do look slightly different in color, that might be because they changed how they minted them but idk.

Interesting video, watching from the Old World. Living in a small place, I tend to buy my silver from an online dealer, very trustworthy that I've used over many years. I order and get the bill on e-mail. Been stacking on and off for about 25 years. Unfortunately sold most of my gold in 2012, but got a nice return at that time. So been buying mostly silver since and never sold any. Wish I bought more earlier (doesn't many say that?) Gold is awfully expensive, even as the US dollar is declining, so I can't afford that now. Besides, silver has much more upside, so gold might be possible later on.

something to consider when buying gold (my lesson learned when selling (may vary in other LCS)), stick with gold eagles for full spot sell. mine wanted to do 99% spot for my full set of buffalos but gave me 100% cuz they were graded, gave full spot for the few gold eagles and 96% for all bars & perth mint "coin". I'll be cashing in my silver when it gets to $50, its all bars so i'm not expecting full spot. but 1sr buy what you like but consider unknown consequences when selling. I'm not lucky enough to have a local network....

Now I buy exclusively from my LCS, I have made purchases from JMBullion & Ebay whenever my LCS can't get what I'm looking for, but I normally check with them first before buying online. Lately USPS has been really bad with delivery, I'm still waiting on a package I ordered 2 weeks ago.........still in transit. If you order any Gold online, opt for UPS or FedEx delivery.

Very nice! And yeah, I've noticed a BIG change in USPS lately too!!

I know platinum is outside of your stacking strategy but a tube 1/2 plat eagles would be nice addition in my opinion.

That would be lit! I'm actually considering 1/10th ozt gold eagles. Though that is NOT my usual fractional due to the extreme premiums... But tomorrow at 12:30 pm ET I think I'll be buying SEVEN of them!!

I just picked up 2 rolls of beautiful silver statehood quarters for .73 cents/oz over spot. Good buy?

@@YankeeStacking it was a quick picture but that was the impression I got at a glance. I have one proof and one regular Buffalo and there is a difference. So I'm finished watching now, nice pick ups. Monster box for sure.

Definetly Yankee, go for a maple leaf monster box. It feels like the right thing to do, doesn't it?

Well....maybe. It's just so dang expensive compared to my ASE monster box last year. I probably will...but it will have to be 2018+ only! 😂👌🏼

Nice video. When you are buying gold to a private seller, do you test gold before paying? How could you know that is not fake gold?
