My Favorite Scene from Robin Hood 2010

Фильм және анимация

My favorite scene from the Robin Hood 2010 with Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and Matthew Macfadyen. This scene shows how Marion and Robin were conversating about Robert Loxley, how Marion got herself stuck in mud while trying to pull a ram out of it, which was quite embarrasing and a little bit funny, and how Robin stood up for Marion when Sheriff of Nottingham insulted her in front of him after Robin pulls Ram and Marion out of mud. I can't help but think that Marion should have been tied up (in a damsel in distress fashion) in the scene when she got herself stuck in mud.

I like that their romance isn't glamorous. They are older than most onscreen couples, and the romantic subplot doesn't feature the whirlwind and drama that you often see. Not saying I hate those stories, but here their interactions are sweet and mature with funny moments like this. It's nice for a change.

I am not going to lie to you. It was kind of funny when Marion got herself stuck in mud trying to rescue ram out of it, and when Robin went for Ram first instead of rescuing Marion first, especially when Marion gave Robin the priceless death glare for helping ram first instead of Marion. But at least Robin does help her afterwards. Also this is my most favorite scene from the movie because of the slightly funny moment when Marion got stuck in mud while trying to rescue the ram out of it, and because it was satisfying to see Robin standing up for Marion after Sheriff of Nottingham insults her right after she's rescued from the mud. Also I can't help but think that Marion should have been tied up like a real damsel in distress during this scene and like in those damsel-in-distress moments while she was stuck in mud, and I wish there were some behind-the-scenes footage of this scene. Do you agree?

The thing I love most about this movie is how Robin choses to cort Miriam. He quickly learns that this land and its people are important to her and decides to take matters into his own hands by first stealing back the seed for the farms, then saves the ram before her because she saw it important to save it, and then he helps teach and train the boys of the forest because she cares for them, and finally let's her lean on him when Walter dies and doesn't reject her when she chooses to fight beside him in the war. He know how capable she is, he just wants to show her that she can lean on him and trust him. Ahhhhh such good writing! Sorry for the long comment, thanks for reading if you did.

Agree with Igor Salaj on this one. I will also add that his idea of 'idiotic schmucks' is spot on. I read the review by one 'The Age' film critic - who no longer writes, thank heavens - who described another film as rubbish and he couldn't keep track of things nor could he follow the plot. The film he was 'critiquing' was Love Actually. I suggest that Love Actually has since become one family (and christmas) favourite. As for this version of Robin Hood - well I have seen The Adventures of Robin Hood (Errol Flynn), Robin and Marion (Sean Connery), Robin Hood- Prince of Thieves (Kevin Costner) and of course this Robin Hood (Russell Crowe). All versions are okay although the Errol Flynn's version is the obvious standout. The only one I didn't enjoy was the version with Uma Thurman as Maid Marion. Each to their own.

In the cinema I went to, which was packed out, as soon as Robin opened his mouth the response was WTF.... since when did Robin Hood come from everywhere in the British Isles at the same time. Likewise for me. Because it was kind of funny how Marion got herself embarrasingly stuck in mud while trying to pull ram out of it and because it was satisfying how Robin stood up for her when Sheriff insulted her right after she was rescued from the mud. I honestly can't help, but think that Marion should have been tied up like a real damsel in distress during this scene, and I honestly wish there are some behind the scenes footage (as both, pictures and video clips) of this scene. Thanks. However, I prefer it more because of how it's hilarious that Lady Marion Loxley was tempting fate in her attempt to rescue the ram from the mud only to get herself stuck in mud along with it. This scene is also my most favorite scene in the movie because of how it was awesome that Robin stood up for Marion after she was insulted by Sheriff of Notingham right after she was rescued from the mud, that his insolence toward her will be considered a debt between them before he and Marion leave, with Marion giving a "take that" satisfying smirk at Sheriff of Nottingham.
