Personally 990v5’s all the way for me; most comfortable and supportive and hope to see more collabs/colorways. Closely followed by the 2002r and the 990v4.. Love the channel mate, keep up the great work!

With you on the 990v4! Quickly becoming more my most worn pair of NB shoes and glad I bought them based off your recommendations. I have to say I also really like my 2002R's as well, they're soo flexible and comfortable all day also. You got me curious about the 991s more now, so going to look at those when I can.

I cannot believe I have yet to grab a pair of 2002rs. So many people tell me how amazing they are. I have been wearing a pair of 1906rs the last 2 weeks and they are so comfortable and they share the same midsole as the 2002r so I can only image how amazing those are. For sure look into grabbing a pair of 991v2s!

990v3's are my overall favorite. Sleek, perfect combination of cushion and compression resistance with a carbon fiber shank for support. The heel to toe transition seems smoother on the 990v3s vs V4 and V5. All very great shoes. If you haven't tried out a pair of New balance 920's man please do. You'll love them.

@@samdopkosky Yeah bro! Whenever I needed something that is not that chunky compared to the 990s I have, 860v2s ftw! I have always wanted a 990v5 since 2021 but since the rise of 990v4 I took my time to decide and just this year I finally copped it. NB is not really accessible here in the country where I live so it takes a loooooot of research before I buy a pair. Either I order it online or travel to Europe to test and buy it. Your videos really helps me in so many ways, keep it up bro!

The reflex of 991v2 is the greatest. It’s different. I love it so much.

Nice vid man! I recently got some V6s and was a bit disappointed with the comfort. To me the V5 is more comfortable. So I wanted to ask which is more comfortable for you; the V5 or the 991v2? 🤔

I get why you wouldn't like the v6 comfort if you're used to the v5. The could pillow comfort can be very different compared to a very stable 990v5. For me personally I think the 991v2 is a little more comfortable than the v5. Both are very stable. The 990v5 has a more stable heal but the 991v2 is still stable but has a much smoother ride from heal to toe compared to the v5

Here's my top five. I'm just using silhouettes that I currently own, and by looks not comfort. This could possibly change when I get a 991V2 or a 9993. 1V3 2V5 3.V4 4. V2 5. V6,992 tie

I think the only thing that I don't like about the 991v2 is the drop.. I feel like my toes gets squished when i'm walking.. it's not uncomfortable but it just feels weird.. Not sure how long it will take for it to break in? not sure if the choice of socks makes a difference. I think it'll be a good idea if you can compare New Balance with some of Asics sneakers if you have the chance to do that.. GEL1130, GT2160 and the Kayano-14 to see how they compare with the new balances. That would be nice

I totally agree with you on the drop of the 991v2. It is a little more dramatic compared to the other models and can push your toes into the front of the shoe. Mine fully broke in after about 2 weeks of wear just walking around. I have always been curious about asics models, I would love to grab a pair and compare them to a new balance! Thanks for the idea!

Thanks to my very generous local canadian Marshalls and Winners stores which seem to stock up on New Balance MADE kicks every few months since maybe 2021 to sell at crazy good prices (making me one of their most regular visitors!), I have quite the collection of New Balance 990 kicks. My top 5 in order of how many pairs I own of each : 5- 990v1 (ex aequo) : 3 pairs… they all came from Winners 5- 990v5 (ex aequo) : 3 pairs… 2 came from Winners 4- 992 (ex aequo) : 3 pairs 4- 920 UK (ex aequo) : 3 pairs… they all came from Marshalls. Same outsole as the 990v3 so it counts! 😅 4- 993 (ex aequo) : 3 pairs 3- 990v4 : 4 pairs… 3 of those came from Winners and Marshalls… 2- 990v3 (ex aequo): 6 pairs… 5 of them came from Winners and Marshalls! 2- 990v6 (ex aequo): 6 pairs… 4 of them came from Marshalls… 1- 991 (v1) : 8 pairs! 6 of which came from Marshalls 🤯 Sam, you need to give the 991v1 a fighting chance! Once broken in a bit it becomes crazy good, better than the 991v2 if stability is a priority and if the 991v2’s drop is too steep, for sure. It’s also the OG Steve Jobs New Balance, taken over by the 992 later but the 991 was on his feet first!😊 992 is fun to wear, but feels heavier than the 991 or 993 IMHO. The all black 992 I bought while traveling in San Francisco in 2021 completely saved my trip; I had made the mistake of only bringing Nikes with me, and my feet were taking a beating. The 992s fixed the issue almost overnight and allowed me to finish my trip with functional feet. ❤

It still blows my mind how many pairs you have found at Marshalls. I am always shopping there and never find made models so consider yourself extremely lucky! I really want a pair of 920s, I just have not come across a color way that I have to have. I have been thinking a lot recently about getting a pair of 991v1s so hopefully I can get my hands on a pair soon. AMAZING collection by the way!

@@samdopkosky I do enjoy it quite a bit! I skipped over the 6 pairs of 2002Rs, the 3 pairs of 1906Rs and the ALD 550s as well as the white ALD 650s that I got from the same source. Oh and the one pair of MiUK 1500s. This is all over a period of multiple years of course. I must say that the one Marshalls location I visited in the US (in Vermont) never had any heat unfortunately. I assume that TJX has more premium locations in denser cities, and that smaller locations don’t get as lavishly supplied? Not sure. I must insist, you need a pair of the 991v1! I see them pop up at New Balance Outlets regularly. Hope you have access to one! If you do, the trick is to visit it as many times as you can to score nice stuff.

It’s pretty insane that a sneakerhead’s favorite shoe of all time is the 990. 10 years ago nobody (not even NB fans) cared about them, to the point where you might be made fun of in school.

For some context, the 576, 577, 580, 997, 998, 999, 1300 and 1500 were considered cool back in the day. The Kennedy 999 is still probably the goat NB.

I remember when I first started wearing a 990 in my junior year of high school everyone dogged on me but I never let that stop me from wearing. They are just so comfortable and stylish. New balance started making colors and Teddy Santis really help put the 990 back on the map

my jjjjound 990v3 are incredible. I’d give those a shot if you love the v3.

actually I enjoying my v4 hilite, I almost used everyday

I have always bought MiUSA 997s, comfy for casual wear, i have about 24 pairs. I only have 1 pair of 992s. And 1 pair of 2002Rs both comfy ass shoes. I have 2 pairs of 574s but 1 pair is MiUSA which are very comfy but the non MiUSA pair isn't comfy at all, i'm wondering if the materials of the midsole has anything to do with it but idk because they look exactly the same. I have about 6 pairs of 998s all MiUSA but honestly only 2 pairs are comfy for me.

The 997 is rereleasing this year and I am very excited to get my hands on a pair! I have mixed feelings about the 998. I have one pair and to me they feel really tight and they aren't as comfortable as other made models I have. I think I need to get another pair to try them out again

Hello mate please can you help me iv just started getting into new balance and I would like to know how you care for your trainers, not sure if you have a video on this but do you where shoe trees for example or do you spray the shoes for protection, would really appreciate your help and I love your channel

With my sneakers I wear all of them and wear them in all conditions. I don't use shoe trees and I do not spray and protector on them. The thing I do most is take a soft bristle brush and brush the suede in one direction if the suede is starting to look flat. New balances are extremely durable and in my opinion look better when they show some wear. I do plan on making a video on how I clean my pairs so be on the lookout for that! hope this helps

The intro was AWESOME! Well done. I really like your top 5 list. If I had to give my own top 5 in terms of Silhouettes: 5. 990v6 4. 990v4 3. 992 2. 991v2 1. 993 But lets face it, they all real bangers! You cant go wrong with any of these, ever. They all so close in terms rating.
