Those Double-sided die cutting plates are a gamechanger to my die cutting! I saw Jennifer's vid too and I've been using these plates for several months now and LOVE IT! SO glad to no longer need the magnetic or plastic shims anymore!

So I was just about to throw away my machine. I was in love with it at first. The size, the color (I got the pink one) it was so nice to have on my desk. BUT those plates were driving me crazy. I was on my third set and done. The cost of the plates were almost as much as the machine. I put it away and put out my Spellbinders Mermaid one. Then I saw your video and I think its it worth one more chance...thank you!!!!

Awesome tip. Thinking I will buy a second set of regular plates to use for embossing so I can keep these taped together for cutting only.

Thank you so much! I have had so much warping of the Gemini Jr. Cutting Plates that I decided to switch back to Platinum 6 and I ordered the Glimmer Hot Foil machine from them too. However... I have HUGE issues with lower neck and back and have found the same repetitive motion (the crank handle) using the Platinum 6 is really aggravating my symptoms. After viewing your video I'm willing to try the Gemini Jr again (thankfully I didn't donate it). This may be the answer to the warping plates (I completely agree with Dina Carrol's remark below). If so, I'd "consider" the Gemini Foil Press as well. Thank you again Carissa, I think this information will be well received by many crafters.

Awesome ideas

I use the base plate of a Grand Calibur with a normal Gemini top plate, used it for YEARS,top plate never warps. Of course not recommended. Just putting it out there . C

Someone on KZread suggested using dollar tree plastic cutting board and cutting down to size and using two each on each side plate.

I wish Crafters Companion would listen and watch their crafters. Their machines are great but the plates are confusing, expensive and hard to find. They need to simplify them to keep their customers using this machine. I don’t use mine for all the reasons mentioned.

Link on where to buy the double sided plates?

I have spare gemini foil press top plate (the green one ) but I don't have a junior I have the larger machine was wondering if anyone has tried using these plates to cut regularly in the gemini ???

Hey there Carissa Wiley. Lol. I’ve been using a die cutter for years. I don’t use it that often so I have to look up how to make a sandwich. I’m serious. Lol

They no longer make the 6 x 9 clear Gemini Plates. I have a Gemini Jr. What do I buy instead of the clear plates?

Are you able to dry emboss with this sandwich or use embossing folders?

This is for die cutting only.

it appears the cutting plates recommended are no longer available. Do you know of another vendor perhaps?

What about the regular (don’t have that special plate) plate set up

I would follow the instructions included with the machine. This sandwich is for die cutting only which is what I do most of the time. 🤗

I just bought my second set of double-sided cutting plates and they are separating when I cut small objects. Have you ever experienced that? I didn't have any problems with the first set.

You don’t need the magnetic shim with this particular sandwich. It is different from the factory recommendations.
