I'd love to see a total beginner chainsaw series Ryan. Showing how to angle the saw, what not to try, plunge cuts, texturing etc. I have trouble even starting a gas saw so when to use the choke, thats real beginner stuff!

thanks Ryan, the entire chainsaw parts industry needs to move more online and those who lead that will do great. sadly most shops hardly even know the lingo never-mind offering actual help.Would also be great to see other carving products on your site, I love the hobby but hate how difficult it is to obtain tools/parts when you live rurally.

My son wants a whittling kit for Christmas so I started researching! I've decided to order a Beavercraft Set S18X I saw on your Tool talk Tuesday You also said to check out way better hand carver Doug Linker And that's how I became a Huge Fan of you both! I've watched hours and hours of you videos learning what is needed to get started! I appreciate all your tutorials and your teachings on the tools you guys use and don't use. Thank you so much for all your teachings. I'm hooked on watching your Videos! We are getting together late for our Family Christmas Jan 20, 2024! So I've had a lot of extra time to learn from you. Thank you so much for all your excellent teachings Ryan Cook and Doug Linker 💕🤩💕 You guy are the Best! And your Canadian to boot!!! 💕🤩💕

You and Kevin ought to get a decent sized TOY Hauler and convert the back garage portion into a carving shop. When you travel, you'd have full living quarters, shower, etc. and all your shop all together.

Ryan, first, Merry Christmas to you and your family. I cant tell you enough, how much I appreciate your videos, and especially this one, on Cannon Bars! You don't need to thank me for spending 49 minutes of my day on your video, as it is truly seen in my mind, as a knowledge investment. You have so much more experience than a lot of people here, and for you to share YOUR TIME, with your real experience and knowledge base, is SI MUCH APPRECIATED! Also, I know I have asked several times, about the inside organization of your trailer, and today you addressed that, and it totally makes sense. Thank you. I have in the meantime, come up with "what works for me" ❤ I look forward to the new year, following you, thanks again!

100! Ryan as a new carver I agree! I am currently running a 3510 with 12” dime. 4910 has 20” stock bar. But I’m going up a bit for more power in the future. I know your in Canada , but archer makes a pretty good 1/4 chain, Baileys also has 1/4 called woodland pro, looks just like my Oregon chain in 1/4. The 2511 with 8” is awesome! So light!

Gonna shoot for getting the msa60 or msa70 if I can get one (super hard to find and stihl is completely out of the 70's) for the variable speed capability so just hoping they're the same as msa 140's and are interchangeable.. Anyway let me know and thanks again! Rob.

What do you have to do to make the DCS 5000 work with a 1/4 pitch carving bar in .050? I don't want to buy one if i can't make that work. I know Makitas have a sprocket though.

Oh my gosh. If you did a playlist on this channel for beginners, that would be so amazing. Even if you just taught nomenclature, that would be invaluable. I went on your website at one point wanting to buy a dime tip, but had no idea if it would go with my stihl chainsaw so I never bought anything. I don't know what goes with what. I just bought a chainsaw that has a bar and a chain on it and have just been using that. I don't know what I can interchange with what. It's really the only thing stopping me from trying to carve! I don't know what chain/bar to use for what kind of carving. Like, why would I want more than one saw and why all the bars? How do I decide what chain speed I need for what carving? I'm still hand carving with chisels.

Will the 12 inch dime tip hold up blocking smaller pine rounds for mushrooms and gnomes? I got a dime tip for my saw but had to switch the sprocket so i can’t swap back to my normal tip bar easy. I could use my 50cc to block but i would rather have one do it all.

Hi Ryan. New to chainsaw carving.. think I'm stuck with stihl as they seem to be only ones available in my town or online in canadacurrently.. I know you don't like them but to you carry any bar/chains by Cannon that fit the battery stihl saws like the msa60, msa70 or msa 140? Theyre all 1/4P but 0.43g. Would i need a different sprocket too to use .50g? Pretty sure they're bars all interchange but id have to check with Jordy J.. I don't do insta.. how do we connect? I'm in b.c. thanks and looking forward to hearing back! Rob.
