Makeup brushes on Amazon are a great alternative to acrylic and oil brushes. I got a pack of 20 for about $3-$5 and they don't lose their bristles plus they are soft enough to blend pretty well. Detail brushes are the ones that I'll actually buy specifically made for paint. But that's the advice I was given when all my cheap paint brushes were shedding and ever since I've used the heck out of the make up ones! 😄 My watercolour brushes are where most of my money goes since it's my favourite medium I buy the higher end brushes 😅

Wait that’s so smart!! What good advice! I agree, now that I’m into watercolor I’m so eager to have better brushes for that :,) It’s surprising how much more water they actually hold

I use 3 waters - finally bought a bucket w/3 wells. & the handle has groves to hold brushes. 3 waters Kees my painting clean & brifgt. Thank you for sharing 🙏

My day job is working for a retailer on the corporate side. I think all the chain stores and Amazon inflate their prices to make it seem like you’re getting a deal. The worst one I’ve seen is Kohl’s who seemly have a forever sale. Like jeans are $30 but they slap on a markdown discount from some crazy price. Know that they’re still making money. Their core cost on those same jeans is probably $5 or $10.

love the vid! i have a ques. about the clay earings u made, was there something u used to varnish/paint over to keep the quality smooth from using acryla gouache? sorry idk how to word my question there LOL, i was thinking to make smaller key chains out of clay and i have acryla gouache at home that i can use to paint with :D i know that the medium feels chalky after drying- and so far love using acryla gouach in sketchbooks, using colored pencils over the dried paint is really fun !

I currently use Padico Sealer Super Gloss! It's not too expensive itself, but it's imported to the US from Japan so the shipping costs get expensive. I bought 3 bottles at once to make the shipping cheaper per bottle and I'm going through it really slowly! I learned about it from Megan Wang's clay video, you should watch it! UV Resin is another option, and easier to find, as long as you have the protective measures in place (gloves, respirator, open window) it's great!

😶 The ugly sketchbook description fits all my sketchbooks.

Haha my "nice" sketchbook has plenty of ugly stuff in it too, it's just more of a higher effort sketchbook! I just normally paint over the ugly page and start over with something else later so it feels better haha :,) whatever works for you though, I just have a lot of perfectionism I need to work on with my sketchbook so it's nice to organize my work in that way.
