Hey Scott, love the rig. Bay Horse does such a great job. I was wondering about some more info regarding the batteries/inverter. Im sure it's awfully handy when the stop doesn't have power within reach

It's incredibly handy, especially on the one or two horse stops. It saves a ton of time and work setting up janky power from the barns. Lots of times I even run my fans for an extended period of time of the rig power. I do plug in when stopped for any length of time so that I stay pretty much topped off.

Are you a cjf or certified farrier barn witches luv those fancy rigs

Hey Scott. I'm neither. I apprenticed for a long time with the likes of David Farley and Roy Bloom, and did a lot of clinics and competitions, but never went through the certification process.

Where did you get your bed from?

Scott Gregory, Thank you Scott. I my self am trying to acquire a decent rig without spending a lot of money. For now. But your type of rig set up is definitely a gol. Also do you prefer the truck over a trailer rig set up? And if so why?

@@dogbite082 I hear you. I had been shoeing around 25 years when I finally just went ahead and bought this. I sure don't regret it and honestly, the only regret is not doing it much sooner. This body with new anvil, swing out, forge, drill presses and power system was about $18k. A lot, but I can easily get another horse or two done each day with this, so the math works out. As far as truck or trailer? That's the million dollar question. I used to have a cargo trailer set up to work out of and that was awesome. It is really nice to be able to get out of the weather and have everything all set up and ready all the time. I stopped using it though, because maintenance was annoying. I have really been thinking about it again, although there are a good amount of places that it wouldn't fit in. The main drawback I see about using a trailer now is the government. A bunch of my farrier buddies have been really pummeled with the new regulations requiring a CDL to pull a trailer. I find that to be a pretty obnoxious burden.

Scott Gregory yeah I my self am thinking about a single axle trailer. But I don’t wanna spend 13-15k on one just yet. I have a old military M101a1 trailer that I am thinking about converting with one of those farrier truck bed inserts to save some cost but I’m not sure yet. And I have thought about the hole CDL situation. And if I keep it within my states weight laws I should be ok. But I am definitely staying away from gooseneck work trailers to avoid confusion and police harassment.
