I am 63 as well! And absolutely agree with Lauren…I have a ridiculous makeup collection that I have been working on for 50 years with no apologies. I still work in a professional career, and it is my favourite time of the day..to sit down in the morning and play with makeup before I go to work in the morning. Never apologize for doing something you love. Great video!

I am thoroughly enjoying your eyeshadow palette collection & declutter & seeing all the beautiful color stories! And watching this reminded me of some of my own palettes that I haven’t used in a while. Although it was a bit late in the day yesterday, I was inspired to pull out my I ❤ Revolution “Avocado” palette & play with it, as I love the tones of the mattes & I wanted to use those slightly flaky shimmers you mentioned (haha!😅), & the look turned out great! I haven’t been wearing makeup every day as the spinal pressure pain is just making it difficult to be upright for any length of time on some days, but I was having a little better day yesterday, so I took full advantage! Today may not happen though, so we’ll see. 😉 Thanks for always being such a wonderful inspiration, dear sister, & for the faithfulness of your prayers. They truly mean so much. I’m so happy to hear that the Avocado palette was a minor distraction to your pain. I’ll take it!! The flakiness used to be a difficult formula to manipulate but I think now it’ll be easier for me. Who knows? Either way, it’s such a fun palette. Anything with greens and I’m all in! @@EricaConger , I have become thoroughly convinced that there’s nothing better than beautiful greens to distract from anything in life that is unpleasant! I’ll call it “Green Therapy!” 🤩👍💚🩵💚🩵It amazes me how those pale sparkly blues work so beautifully within that colorstory in such an unexpected way. I ventured out of my usual gravitation towards that superb olive green matte (yeah, you know the one 😉) & instead used the lighter cool-toned green matte (the one that reminds me of an Easter egg 🥚) as my main base, & then just did this gradual deepening with the other similarly toned mattes before plopping the grass-green shimmer on half the lid & then the really flaky, sparkly pale blue with the gold flash on the inner part of the lid. It definitely screamed “very monochromatic green”, but it was really fun to create because of it being different than my usual color choices, & it turned out surprisingly pretty. Those icy kinds of blues are the ones I can really get behind & appreciate! And I find that flaky formula to be a little easier to manipulate if I’m using a natural hair flat brush sprayed after dipping it into the shadow to make it spread around the lid better & avoiding a lot of sparkly fallout. I’ve recently started having to use my fingers more with shimmers after my initial precise brush application on the lid simply because I have developed creases/folds (particularly on the inner part) that my brush wants to skip over no matter how I try to get it in there. Nothing like having deep-set eyes with gradual increased hooding as each year passes to get those “application technique creativity” juices flowing due to pure necessity! 😅 And additionally, I’ve noticed lately that my mattes will crease in the outer third of my eye, & it seems totally independent of what’s going on with the shimmers . I haven’t changed primer or anything, so who knows what’s happening there! 🙄 Maybe hooding is causing the eyeshadow to rub off in that outer corner area giving it the appearance of creasing. ??? 🤔 “The Mysteries of Makeup” (& how to overcome them); if only I knew! 🔍🕵🏻‍♀️ The kindred Spirit & heart resides with y’all too! 😇🙏✝️🕊️❤️❤️❤️

WOW, you do have so beautiful palettes, this is such a joy to watch! I really love eyeshadow palettes, have several that I really like using but last year I just could not make myself put make up on more than a few times (at least that is what I can remember). My mother was very sick and passed away in august and the grieving have been overwelming. But on New Years Eve, when I just stayed at home with my man and had a nice dinner, it happened! I grabbed one of my palettes and it was so much fun to put the shadows on the lids and then the rest of the makeup 😊💄🎉🩷! Thank you for this video and the inspiration Erica, now I move on to part 2 of your palette videos ❤!

@@earlines4008 Cosmic Brushes…. really beautiful color stories and quality for reasonable prices. Saints Angels Sinners is another WONDERFUL indie brand with good prices. Glamlite is great, too. And they have amazing sales. Same with Beauty Bay but that’s in the UK and the shipping can be high. LadybugGlow is my favorite!! Maybe more mid range for pricing. Colourpop has great prices and tons of palettes and other products. Looxi sells single eyeshadows for great prices, too. I’ll keep thinking about it and come up with some more options, too. These are just what popped into my head. 😍😍

My Frozen Elsa palette works pretty great still but the bottom right shade is super powdery. If we combined our powers we could have a complete palette again. 😂😂😂 I super love that palette, though! I can’t get rid of it. Not even the packaging or crappy pressed glitter. Oh, speaking of glitters, the yellow one in the Fade into Hue palette is actually really pretty. I hate myself for loving it so much. 🤣

@@EricaConger that’s what I did!! My blowin smoke and making mauves palettes smell like crayons and officially expired. :( Blowin smoke makes sense but hurts. It was my first Colourpop order. I popped out the glitters I didn’t like and sequin mattes I hate in my favorite palettes and replaced them with shades from palettes I decluttered. 😜 Have fun!!

Nice declutter! I only have one each Profusion and BH palette now. I got rid of all my Sweet Shoppes, gave them to my nieces over Thanksgiving, I just wasn't using them and they were excited to get them. I only kept Galaxy Chic as that was my favorite BH. Profusion Bare I still have but don't really use but am trying to fully pan one of the shades, will keep for now but I did get rid of my Emeralds palette, another one that I wasn't using. Won't be buying any eyeshadow at all this year, or until Black Friday. Just need to use what I have and that is the way it is. Looking forward to part 2! 😁

I have a large collection as well..lol.. i will be doing a series of collection vids soon.. i am not going to apologize for what i have.. i love sharing and to see what others have to see what we have in common which starts a conversation... if folks don't like watching or those who have a large collection,, why are they watching???? hmmmm.. you have some great things,, we have some of the same palettes.. enjoyed watching .. if you ever want to collab,, let me know :0)

Anam Cara! Paulina has not been on since Niclaus 8njured his leg at work. She's caring for him as he could not move about. She just has no t8me! I d9 miss her. I am a subscriber of hers, too. I am watching this before bed. I am so over it! 5he ENT things need to happen soon. I am sure it 8s what is making me sick. Plus, sick people with no mask on. At times, I'll look to these types and shake my head, then go somewhere else to hide from. 😂 Cliff and I are frustrated with my Ipsy Charm. We are trying to retrieve a frickin Franken sassa prassin Varmint ! So I said go to bed and we will dothis tomorrow. LOL We were bo5h getting frustrated (not 8n a actual fight)"at the site, so went grr argh! We did laugh at it. I have to remind him not to go 8n a ta gent because I have to hear about for a bloody half hour of watch8ng something while he goes on and on about his game. I told him to shush. When asked * told him yup called, I wanna hear 5his. Then I giggle as he goes fine then. He plays pouts until I say something funny. We just don't see the point in arguing. I am off to bed. My brain is still foggy from my muscle relaxant this morning. 😅

Anam Cara!!!! I hope you’re able to get a good nights sleep, love. I’m sure you’re so over it! Being sick again and again is so exhausting and so frustrating! There’s so much crap going around. When I got the flu, I was the sickest I’ve been in years. My heart goes out to you and you’re in my constant prayers and thoughts. I’m back to work tomorrow. I’ve been off for a few days. it's annoying you have to apologize for the size of your collection but this is the internet so a disclaimer or whatever in the beginning of collection vids is pretty standard it's your money your hobby so long as you enjoy it there's no wrong or right way as far as I'm concerned I'm just a nosy stranger who loved seeing what makeup other people collect and enjoy I also have a large collection of eyeshadows they are my favorite part of makeup :D
