    I'm sorry that you have to deal with it. But it's really good that you finally got the diagnosis. I heard that in cases like yours they can change topical steroids or Tacrolimus for oral (because of the spread). Also steroids sometimes are being injected inside a lesion. Intravenous steroids give positive results in clearing the lesions on the body (if the link is working, here's an article: casereports.bmj.com/content/14/4/e241900 ). Also phototherapy and PRP can help 🙏🏻 Hope you'll get the right cure very soon

    Hi Maria. How do you use the regrowth factor? Do you use it after a flare, or do you wait until it's calmed down? And, do you put it on the labia majora only, or where the minora is disappearing? Thanks.

  • @lifewithlichen

    Hi🙌🏻 The growth factor serums, as my doctor recommended, should be used every day after the shower, always the same time of day. I usually don't wait for flare-ups to use it. But if you have any side-effects after using it, you better immediately stop and try something else. Usually I put it everywhere where I have signs of LS. But here's one thing: if you have labia thickening, you maybe better see a doctor first before applying the growth factor 🙏🏻🌹

    I wonder if Boric Acid would help and lanolin cream?

  • @lifewithlichen

    @lifewithlichen

    8 ай бұрын

    There's no scientific data about effective using of Boric Acid with LS, only a few opinions at forums. I highly recommend you to be extremely careful with this one because Boric Acid can cause severe irritation, so if you decide to try, start with very diluted solution. And preferably not if your skin is atrophic (only with skin thickening). E45 cream, for example, contains lanolin, and at Staff That Works a few people noted that it helped them a little. Doctor Filippo Murina says that steroids and lanolin is a standard therapy. But NHS thinks that it's best to avoid it: "It is best to avoid hydrous wool fats (e.g. Lanolin) or ointments containing antiseptics, antibiotics or perfumes, as long-term use can sensitise the skin." So, I think, it's worth trying (lanolin) if you have itch and thickening

    @@lifewithlichen my question is how quickly can this spread to other parts of the vulva I made the mistake of not staying consistent and I'm noticing it in areas it was not in before, it looks like red patches with white an my whole vulva from the clitoris to the open is red etc. I'm now seeing a whole bunch of really tiny red dots that I've never noticed before too

  • @lifewithlichen

    @lifewithlichen

    Жыл бұрын

    @@mamabear9380 So, if it's the effect of the drug, which is quite possible with steroid creams (and red patches with white sound like the steroid side-effect), then it's not the LS spreading - it's possible the reaction of the skin to the drug and it can go away when you stop using it. Also LS can get worse after using clobetasol. The LS itself doesn't spread very quickly in most of the cases, it can take months, in some even years. My guess about tiny red dots (I'm not a doctor) that it could be allergic reaction, tiny vessels that popped, or even lichen planus (google it to see if they look like that)
