Outlier is a company out of New York making mens basics out of technical fabrics. They offer workout and exercise clothing as well as office wear. Unique performance fabrics forged into an everyday oxford is an interesting concept that works very well in this case.
This video is not sponsored, I am unboxing on camera because I love the brand and want to share better menswear with the world. Have a product you would like me to review? Comment below or email info@thekavalier.net

From Outlier:
We want to build the future of clothing.
Clothing should be liberating. What you put on in the morning should never restrict what you do with your day. We make garments that evolve around the boundaries of fashion using a function driven design process and high quality technical fabrics.
The world does not need more design; it needs less. As designers we must wake up to this challenge every day if we wish to truly create objects worth creating. Honesty, experimentation, and a commitment to learning from history are our best tools.
One well considered object can take the place of many cheaply made ones. We think the traditional fashion system is flawed and that it is possible to create higher quality garments at better prices by rethinking traditional cycles of development, production and distribution.
Profit should never be the reason a company exists. Businesses need money the same way humans need water. It is essential to function, but the less we need to think about it the better off we are. A healthy organization creates value that extends far beyond money and into all points of its operation; from suppliers to employees and from customers into communities.
Outlier began with one particularly elusive value: an intense feeling of exhilaration and liberation that comes from riding in the city. With Outlier we want to take that feeling and bring it everywhere we travel.
Nyco Oxford Cloth interweaves nature and technology to make for a sturdy, structured and breathable oxford cloth. With air forged nylon in the warp and cotton in the weft, it boasts the familiar comfort of a traditional workhorse cotton oxford cloth and the simple strength of nylon.
Classic cotton oxford cloths typically use two thicker yarns are in the weft and single finer yarns in the warp. We replaced these thinner cotton warp yarns with air forged nylon yarns of the same thickness, making for a classic feeling fabric with a bolstered strength. A light blazing of nano treatment helps keep it cleaner and drier.
A 21st century take on jeans, made from the most ruggedly comfortable tech fabric around. There’s no denim in here. No cotton to suck up sweat and rain and clam up your life. No cotton to stay cold for hours as it barely dries. No cotton to blowout after a month or two of cycling. The original jeans were a technical pant made for miners. To make a truly 21st century jean we needed to avoid the world of denim fetishists and find the best possible material to take the five pocket pant back to its performance roots.
With our Workcloth we found the perfect cloth to make a true five pocket pant for casual work and wear; what used to be called a dungaree. One single pant we could wear everyday, all day. A pant that stays dry in light rain, yet drys fast if it does get wet. A pant that shrugs off coffee and beer. A pant that looks and smells good even if you never wash them, but can easily be washed without compromising their core style. Pants we can travel the world in, through mud, dust and grime, and still walk into a restaurant looking sharp. The Outlier Slim Dungarees.

Recently got a pair of charcoal SD party because of your video review of them. I have to stop myself from wearing it every day outside; it's that comfortable as you had mentioned. I regret finding about it so late because I'd have never bought a pair of denim. I also got two pairs of their New Way Shorts and Futureworks-- they are great in their own ways and purposes.

I love mine (older, looser model) but on occasion I've done some handyman work with silicone, urethane foam, glue etc and unsurprisingly that won't come off that easily. Do note these are American sizes (i.e. size 34 is like 35 inches waist)

The might feel tight if you're not used to form fitting pants but they're right in the sweet spot of slim not skinny. Will take a look!

My daily wear is the Lululemon ABC pants. The fabric is very comfortable but I'm still not certain if they are too dress down. Thoughts, review?

How do they compare to MoS Going Places pants (aka Aviator Chinos)? Better, I'm assuming?

  • @The_Kavalier

    @The_Kavalier

Yes better overall, the MoS are more office/professional wear. These are more casual, more technical, and less susceptible to stains, water, damage

what would you recommend for a guy with muscular thighs? My legs are probably twice yours lol. Frankly, it's almost impossible to fit on some nice pants unless its these ugly boot cut, it's very annoying.
