I know people have different tastes when it comes to edc, but this so far has been the most realistic edc ive watched.

That external portable monitor + tripod solution really surprised me! Such a good idea!

Yeah plus, some of us sometimes travel with a little tripod and mic stand anyway which have never been multitaskers until now. Totally genius.
oh dang, the velcro on your laptop for BOTH customization and SSD is kinda perfect. great video by the way! B-roll was 🔥

Hey Daniel, architect here. I used to be in the apple eco system, but to clean up my edc, I changed to a Surface Pro 9 that travels with me from office to home in a small bag. In the office and at home I have a usb c 2k 24" screens in vesa mounts and walk around with a z-fold 4 with an s-pen and a Samsung Smartwatch. I no longer bring my laptop to worksites, I just bring my phone and with google drive I have all my work with me at all times. Cheers mate!
Been watching for a while now just wanted to say videos started great and haven’t stopped improving. Production value is reaching new heights on this channel.

Great to know, as while I'm not an Apple person, I've already seen some really good ideas like in this video, the ways to mount a large tablet, which is great!! I did think this was a very well done video and I will show it to my best friend ASAP.
This is such a cool video. Everything you carry is so straightforward yet so functional. I love the thinking behind each item. And the production quality is aces. Awesome job as always man

Thanks so much!!
I love that it's so straightforward, unlike other EDC videos, and the whole vibe is just... nice.
Man I am always freaking blown away by these videos. So crisp, so to the point, and not overly salesy and yelly like pretty much everyone else that does EDC videos
@rustyshackle917

Not overly salesy? The guy just hawked a dozen products in as many minutes. I'm sure he wasn't paid anything for this either. 😂 Stop worshipping influencers and think for yourself.
I’ve been waiting for your EDC and finally here it is. Cheers to you and your small fam!
The monitor setup with quick release is ingenius!!
Really enjoyed this style of video which seemed more laid back but at the same time more personal. Keep it up!
The external display setup is ingenious! I've been working with an external display for the majority of the year, but starting next year I won't have that option anymore - so gotta look for more portable workflows.
OMG!!! This video was clutch! A lot of this is a "makes so much sense" kind of set up. To think I have been traveling with a portable monitor since the "C" and not once did I have the genius idea of portable mounting while working. This setup on the go is so much better than trying to get them next to each other on a table! I am genuinely 🤯and adding these extra items to my shopping cart today!!! THANK YOU!
Daniel, I love your minimal style. I enjoy living the minimalist yet practical lifestyle and looking to upgrade my edc. Great ideas here! My mom is also an architect so it’s cool to see some similarities!
I am so inspired with the approach to the portable monitor. Definitely will try to replicate it when it is the time to refresh my everyday carry.
Love the variety. Not being stuck to an ecosystem and finding what works for you is the best.
The portable monitor solution is really creative and clever. Bravo!
Monitor idea was awesome
Love the monitor mounting DIY.
6:36 wow! This zoom demo is really impressive!
Nice selection. I do something similar with the SSD I purchased the stick on pouch and use various SSDs. I recently purchased a M.2 ssd enclosure to use with it.
Had a look at the Razer 14 as well, and ultimately went with a DELL XPS, which has similar minimalistic looks, and, unless extra performance is needed for gaming, the dedicated nVidia RTX provides more than enough power for most CAD and design purposes. Love the idea with the portable monitor. Nice and clean setup.
How cool to watch this video, loved your EDC.
need that vesa mount and quick mount for mine! thanks
I have have taken inspiration for the same desk setup and now its my full time work station
Wow! I never thought to even search for a right angle USB C adapter. That is incredible! Ordering two right now!
Great stuff - thank you for sharing.
Man, the quality of this video is something else and these EDCs are real productivity gear.

The bottle was by far the silliest, least expected yet the best recommendation i ever got from an edc video
Great content, mate
Omg! I had no idea you were in Canada until now. Welcome!!!
omg, that quick release for the monitor is genius!
This is fantastic - great to see someone with a functional setup and venturing outside of Apple/trends. Most videos like this are about 10-20k of gear and I'd expect most of it doesn't really get used other than in youtube videos. Here it's clear you actually use these things and everything has a function/purpose outside of KZread haha. Agreed on the thoughts about Razer too - I wish they'd explore a different coating/surface that resists fingerprints more! From the moment you unbox them they end up looking kinda gross after a few minutes of touching them 😂 The upcoming Asus G14 and the Omen 14 are looking like interesting options going forward too.
Hey Daniel, as an architecture student, I have found great results from carrying a good battery thin and light laptop (amd preferred) whilst running windows native remote desktop access to a PC at home for rendering, as long as you have decent internet, there should be no more than 30ms ping within the same city. Sometimes I even access my pc from my ipad for convinience. (Just remember to turn on pc before leaving)
The most realistic EDC so far. I've been watching many of them lately, trying to find out if i get add something to my cart. You just convinced me to get the Bottle & the SSD.💜
Dbrand should be able to cover that logo. Plus you can buy rolling square magnetic rings attachment to mount you ssd instead of a velcro
Okay I have a Razer and the velcro patch / external drive trick is magnificent
So many big brain ideas here, i took notes! Thanks for another well produced banger of a video
I think what I most like are the internal arguments I have with you Daniel whenever I view your content. It’s very rare to find anything on YT that so invites that kind of relaxed discursiveness. I realise this next comment is likely utter nonsense, but I’m also concerned from time to time that you have good opportunities to work collaboratively. I expect that’s just a misapprehension brought on by the nature of this medium I certainly experience my interaction with you through YT as having aspects of collaboration. Which is unique.

"Relaxed discursiveness"... I might have to add that one to the About page. 😆 Thanks so much!
Hi Daniel! I would love a tutorial on how to build that monitor stand setup because I am terrible for building things like that
Have you seen the Xreal Air 2 glasses? Basically google glass inside of sunglasses. Hook them up to your computer and they can display a triple monitor setup anchored in real space wherever you want. I bought a pair recently just to watch movies on the plane, but after hooking them up to my M1 Air at a coffee shop I can’t go back. Wearing sunglasses in doors feels a little silly, but I’d feel the same way about setting up an external monitor. Would love to hear your thoughts on the Xreals!
The Union Jack holder is a class tool to have
screen is brilliant.
Very practical EDC. Always interesting to see different mobile work set ups. 11:42 sound jumpscare. The mixing for that transition was a little loud.

Thanks for the heads up! Audio is definitely a weakness I should work on
I would absokutely save up on the additional monitor and get a portable stand for the laptop, then get something like a k380s / mxkeys keyboard and not worry about the laptop keyboard not being used, but save on space and budget.
I liked your monitor and water bottle handle, pretty cool
What a beautiful, inspiring and well informed video
You should get the LG Tone T90Q ear buds. They have so many features and sound great. They also have multi point connection so they can be connected to your PC/iphone/ipad all at the same time. $129 (USD) Amazon. Neat feature too is the little case comes with UV sterilization light for the buds.
nice one ... I really like your monitor solution .... cheers!
I'm a longtime remote worker. I've had the dual monitor setup but long thought about ergonomics. I've never wanted to do the stand plus extra keyboard for the aforementioned ergonomics. But the tripod solution is a bit.....much. I wish there was a more minimal way.
@DanielTitchener

Me too! I feel that this may be as minimal as it gets unfortunately. May be best suited as a good at-home dining table solution in small homes. That's how I've found myself using it most. You'd probably get the odd stare with this setup in a coffee shop.

@@DanielTitchener keep us posted on this, I find myself looking for "remote work setups" on youtube with minimal solid results
Great video Daniel, love your EDC and the excellent video quality. If you want a powerful windows laptop that looks minimal and clean try the Samsung Book Ultra 3 laptop. They are powerful and great looking.
Hey where did you get that desk pad ? I'm looking for the same. Thanks !
A nice edc video. I'm going to check out more from you. As a watch person I'm unsure about the size of the ultra on your wrist though. It seems a bit large. Perhaps checking your SOs thoughts on it.
that water bottle was amazing, I do not have an iPhone but the idea of having a magnet stand like that is really interesting.
Great video!! Awesome products. Going to check out the cider pills as i have “severe” reactive hypoglycaemia. Excited to try it out. Thank you so much for this video!
Great video. I'd definitely swap that monitor, tripod and mini ipad for a ipad pro with sidecar when and when not on the go. top tip... instead of velcro, I think you'd love the pouches you get called AFTERPLUG. way more slick and effective. you've tempted me a lot by the iphone and iwatch that looks like a great combo and love the waterbottle too. thanks for the great video!
I noticed the same issue with the Nothing Ear 1's. The connection drops out a little too frequesntly for my liking. i have the Buds 2 Pro's now and I havent noticed the same issue although the Buds 2 Pro's are of course a little more expensive.
thumbs up for covering the lt logo
Love your water bottle 👍👍👍
That portable monitor solution you’ve fashioned is SLICK!
12:41 I have reactive hypoglycemia as well and i thank you for this great idea!
The Rhinoshield water bottle is really nice and useful.
Besides Apple Cider vinegar, drinking milk / high protein drink would also help to reduce the blood sugar spike
good choice on laptop
I love EDC videos!
This feels like a military tech video...because where would you take a monitor with you in a backpack with tripod? to a coworking cafe? I don't think so. but Union Jack velcro looks nice on the laptop.. of windows..
Man, I clicked for the tech things, but hey, those trees and mountains out there are the real deal. You are really living in an amazing place! What region is that?
Fyi the lg gram view 16" monitor is substantially lighter than your 18". Though it didn't have a stand mounting point
Love Daniel’s videos :) He’s such a great salesman too! I want to buy all the products he introduced in the video😂
Hi, May I know the cutting mat brand / product name you have used, cheers
4:43 "...but I also can easily use it one handed" finally a good argument that convinced me to buy a iPad

Hey Daniel, I really loved the Mic stand for the monitor ! Do you think it would work also with slightly heavier monitors? Thanks for your input :)
Great stuff! may i ask where to get the pad on your desk/table?
Where does the grey cutting board/mouse mat come from?
hi If your looking to upgrade your laptop I suggest the Acer Swift X 16 OLED, looks very minimalist and thin and it is also lightweight. I have their Swift 3 from 2020 and still functions well!
I'm still stubbornly holding on to the Apple ecosystem as an aspiring architect, so my solution was to build a desktop PC for rendering at home. I found it too limiting to stifle my Apple ecosystem with a Windows laptop, and as you noted, the ratio of battery life to performance on most Windows laptops is abysmal, whereas the M series chips do an incredible job maximizing both. Since I can do 90% of my work on MacOS, and rarely feel the need to render on the go, I opted for a combination of a 14" MacBook Pro and a 12.9" iPad Pro. The iPad works flawlessly as both a standalone device and an external monitor when paired with the MacBook using Sidecar and Universal Control. Rendering is not something I tend to do on the go so waiting until I get home is fine. When in absolute need, I connect to my PC remotely to render from anywhere with an internet connection. So far this has worked well for me and I get to stick to the ecosystem that I enjoy using most.
Enjoyable video, really like the portable screen setup. Surprised you didn't go for AirPods given the ecosystem integration.
thinking of sizing down my air 5 to the mini so I can use it more like a note pad. I like drawing on the air though so It's kinda up in the air, cause owning two iPads is weird.
Hi Daniel - where to get the grey table mat from? Can you share the link. thanks.
Windows laptop, Apple phone and tablet, yes it is still workable and enjoyable. 😊
Sensational aesthetic
A trackball mouse can be used for uneven surfaces
I really really love your vids architect, especially your channel is one of my go to place to get some ideas and inspirations when it comes to space planning for my own architecture clients. But to top this up, I recommend you to use a gorilla screen protector for your Iphone incase you accidentally dropped it in the most painful way like it send you to the darkest pits of hell 😂😂😂
What is the grid desk pad you are using here? It looks very interesting and cool, does it have any practical use aswell? Thanks
Using a camera quick release plate on the monitor is absolute brill
Great vid as always, was wondering why you barely talked about the bag, the Bellroy Classic V2. What are your thoughts on it?
Agree with the horrendous logo of Razor.....the snakes on my mouse did not sit well so also had to cover it with a tacky sticker.
Hey Daniel ! i was wondering what was your cutting mat ? do you have a link please ? Thanks !
Hey @danieltitchener, thanks for the review! In the past, you haven't been a huge fan of unnecessary iPhone upgrades, and I am wondering if you kept an old iPhone to be able to keep the physical SIM card tray, and also your thoughts on the battery life and camera on the 15 pro versus the 14 pro. Thanks!
Great video. I’d be curious to see one of your future videos shot completely on the iPhone 15 pro max!
Razors logo is great
