@@kylemalachowski its not uncommon for MLS teams to buy older USL defenders for depht, just look at his teammate Jorge Corrales, who was signed by Chicago at like 27 and spent like 2 years in the MLS before coming back to the USL

@@mantosh56 that’s what I’ve been told but it’ll never be the same I was supposed to get transferred to 2nd division around this time, but i think I won’t play the same and stop being as aggressive as I’m used to I’ve also been told I just gotta lose the fear but idk thanks for the concern I appreciate it a lot

i have a recommendation for headers, when heading it try to get it to one of teammates feet, aim for the ground if you don't feel pressure around you, but if you feel pressure get it up the field

yes this I play both left back and cam and that's my main weakness

You are very good at aerial fights and tactical situation! You should be more calm with the ball and improve your left foot a little bit! Btw nice game keep working!💪❤️

This is great stuff as always. Work on your crosses and you will be golden. Final offensive passes/crosses must be more decisive. Go with more power especially when you cross low.

Hey Matt, I am worried about if I should commit fully to football and quit other sports. I think I am a very solid player but am young and uncertain when i should go and chase the pro contract as what if doesn’t work out?

lol funny. a few of these touches don't have to be just booted. 1:50...you essentially have a rondo situation if you play it to the line or take a touch, shield to keep the defender on your back, and like your numerical adv work for you. 1:57. turning your body and letting the ball run to play the ball to either the CB(1st touch was possible) or keep is ideal here. you repeated 1:57 again at 3:55 but you recognized it here. Love the run at 4:19. usually done from the overlap but you recognized the gap there. brilliant run. you also could have taken a touch there and made the near post defender commit. would have made #16 an option from the angle he took. 6:14 i cant really see the angle there but the square to your CB looked on. would have had the numerical advantage from there. always gonna be asking a lot of the forward to bring a ball down in traffic near midfield. 9:51 that isnt a bad ball nor a bad option but his run is definitely pulling a defender. a feint/fake pass and you likely could have attacked that space and looked for a 1-2 with #10 up front there or had a go. likely the better option. 11:39 that pass is predictable anyway. even if he makes the run, sometimes its better to sacrifice the initial run for a better option. a defender is following and 2 are watching you. you have 3 guys in support in MF there. allow the defender to track the run, you cut back and play middle and play advances in the middle of the pitch where its significantly more of a threat at goal. looks like #16 was trying to relay that to you.

I don’t play at a high level but in top flight pro football, they try to keep formation as tight as possible, and defend and press as 1 unit, as 1 player being out of position good lead to killer through ball to possible goal

The high pressure is supposed to expose weakness and exploit bad touches on the ball/poor decision-making that you'd find on a lower level player. Matt does a good job on his channel explaining how pro level players are less likely to make the wrong decision. However, I think there's some cultural explanation as well... Style of play is rooted in historical tradition and cultural ideology as well as the pure tactical and scientific approaches. The answer isn't fully straightforward.

Mind of Mike has a good explanation. Another factor is size and quality of field. Top leagues play on top quality grass fields that are very large. The USL often play on converted baseball fields and college teams play inside of track ovals. This limitation plus the slightly slower decision making and less consistent touch rewards physical play and high pressure in all areas of the field.
