We are all very proud of you for having the bravery to share this after what must have been a very traumatic event. Glad to see that you are recovering well, and just know that you can do whatever is best for your health and we will all be here and support your decisions

@@harlan5339there are many types of epilepsy seizures different to each person caused by different reasons, in my situation I started losing consciousness to my right hand first and a few seconds later I lost it throughout my whole body, my right hand did hurt a lot because it started from there, aside from that you might feel pain when you have consciousness again if you fell on something as you were falling
take all the time you need to recover, it is very courageous of you to open up like this, I'm sending you all my support and love 💜

Not embarrassing at all, people have to respect your life. Better for people to know about it.
Very proud of you! As some who had their first seizure in October, then was later diagnosed after multiple Brian scans and EEGs. I was given leveritacem . (Not sure how you spell i.) I had another in February, I am now on stronger medication. I am glad some is talking about it. Not being able to even drive or have many drinks it’s refreshing to have someone openly speak about it
So happy you’re okay! Wishing you a continuous recovery, thank you for everything you do for the ASMR community 🙌🏽
This touched me more than I thought.😢 I have epilepsy myself and I know how hard it can be. Got it also diagnosed back in 2016 and spend a lot of time in hospitals (mine is called juvenile myoclonic epilepsy). My hands, arms and legs are shaking up to 20 times a day and I'm losing my short term memory very often...had to finish school in 11th grade because of that. "Big" Seizure luckily just happen a few times a year. But I have a greatly increased risk of developing Parkinson's disease. I think it's really important to tell other people about epilepsy and the awareness. I wish you all the best and I'm so thankful you shared your story! ❤

Wow that sounds terrifying. Wishing you all the best Dido ❤
I have a friend who once had a seizure while sitting next to me and it's very scary to witness, it must be so much worse to experience it. Take the time you need and prioritise your health, wishing you all the best. 🙏💙
There is actually no way, i was diagnosed when i was like 5 and have been taking 3 pills a day for the past 9 years. We are decreasing the dosage now. It was a scary thing. But i am more lucky than others and i only got seizures at night while sleeping cuz i heard some get jt while awake i also got severe insomnia because of it, like i remember being an 8 year old who ran around all day and i refused to sleep because i was scared i would get seizures. Youre videos really helped and im glad im not the only one on this chaotic journey
I'm epileptic as well, on Keppra twice a day. I generally take it in stride, and I'm always more than happy to explain to anyone who asks, but one thing that's tough is the fear that comes with it. I've never been more afraid in my life than waking up in an ambulance not knowing where I am or what's going on, with a broken nose and cuts in my mouth. That fear that comes with keeping emergency medications in my bag and a medical bracelet to help explain to anyone to possibly help. It's terrifying. And I can absolutely relate to the fear of living alone, as I did for a couple years not knowing what I would do if one were to happen. I got it pretty lucky though, maybe a seizure once every few years or so, and the medications have kept it in check. But every so often, there's always that thought in the back of my head, perhaps walking alone in the city one day, what if one were to happen right now? It's scary stuff. I don't mean to be a downer, but I know what it's like Dido, so please take as much time as you need to recover both physically and emotionally. We aren't going anywhere. And on a much lighter note, although it's a bit late this year, I always love telling people that Valentine's Day is _my_ day. If you didn't already know, Saint Valentine, among many other things, was the patron saint of epilepsy! So next Valentine's Day, treat yourself to something extra special, and know that we've got someone looking over us.
The way I started crying half way through I don’t really know what it’s like to have epilepsy but my little sister has it and it’s been just like having a normal sibling fighting over and over but every time she has a seizure it makes me feel sad scared hopeful that she’s going to be okay but this video was posted the day before I have to preform in front of my school to tell them about epilepsy and it’s just nice to see these videos about a serious condition and I just Thank you Dido for sharing your journey about epilepsy 🙂
thank you for sharing! i cannot imagine how tough this is to deal with :( i'm glad you're feeling better after all of that... you're an amazing person. such an inspiration! thank you!💖

Dido, you’re a brilliant asmrtist and you’ve helped lots of people with sleep disorders or people who struggle in their lives (including me). You deserve to have a break to make yourself feel better too. I hope you’re ok, I’m sure it must be tough. But you have all our support. Sleep well
Thank you for having the courage to share this. We support you! ❤

Oh man that must have been scary last week , I feel for you . Your doing great man, I know it must be quite scary because you’ve no idea where it might hit, during exams and as a teen going through puberty and all that it must have been very tough . I suppose all you really can do is try and rest more and not take the things that make it worse but that’s not always easy. Make sure you rest up tho. Your health is way more important than anything.
As someone who had a friend in my previous school that had epilepsy, even having seen him get a seizer in class and get escorted to the hospital, I'm really sorry that you have this Dido and let's just hope it happens as least as possible. All the love man :)

Very brave of you to share! I also have a seizure disorder. Doctors have not been able to specifically diagnose me with epilepsy. I’ve had maybe 30 seizures over the span of 25 years since I was little. They are scary. I appreciate your asmr because you don’t do many crazy flashing light videos. Not sure what kind of laws there are in your country, but in the US we get our license temporarily revoked for 3 months if we have a seizure or any kind of loss of consciousness. I have my neurologist sign off every year allowing me to have my license. It definitely impacts daily life whether it’s a daily occurrence or a rare occurrence. I wish you the best with your epilepsy journey and hope you continue to stay safe
Glad to see you back man, take all the time you need. Rest is more important that youtube
Dido, you are so strong for sharing this with us. My sister has the same type of epilepsy and moved out 2 years ago. It can be frightening at times ‘cause you never know when it hits. Me and my family always need a few days to cool down after a seizure happened. Thankyou for sharing and stay strong!❤
I am praying for you Dido. I am so glad that you are back to feeling at least a little better! Thank you for all you do for us!
I also had epilepsy as a child. It started off with just absence seizures meaning I would completely zone out for like 30 seconds unable to move or remember what had happened within the last 30 seconds. Then in 6th grade it got worse and I started having full-on grand mal seizures in school. The first grand mal seizure I had was during PE playing football with my friends. I had to go in an ambulance and the whole school knew about it. I started to have to take medication which would make me sick and didn't even help much. I also had to go on the keto diet meaning no carbs and other stuff. Then one day my seizures just stopped and I haven't had a seizure in about 4 years. I thank God every day for that.
Hope you’re okay Dido, it must be so difficult going through that and still creating content for all of us. Wishing you all the best for the future ❤
Major respect for making a video and consistently posting, as well as streaming. Got my support brother 👊
Wish you the best dido, I appreciate your work❤
I also have epilepsy and it is very frightening. The shaking got so bad for me I actually dislocated my shoulder and when I came around again the pain was unbearable. It takes a toll on your mental health as well which makes things worse. Luckily the medication I am taking has been working and haven’t had a seizure for over a year now. Good luck to you my man I wish nothing but the best for you and thank you for sharing this 👍

hey bro, thanks for sharing. i had a seizure once, i know it's not the same as having epilepsy, but it was still terrifying. i couldn't image having to deal with that frequently. stay strong!
Hope you get well soon, Dido! 🙏🏻❤️🩹
Hey Dido. Just a reminder... You are not alone. I have juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) and I often feel very very alone in my condition. Today, I had a seizure after many many months without having one, and the feelings are never describable, are they? I woke up (don't remember where in the house) but I, too, knew I had to phone. So I did, I phoned my girlfriend, explained it to her, and she then made her way home from work. In the meantime, I went to assess the damage (I hurt myself really bad, hit nearly every part of my body, had subconjunctival hemorrhage on one eye, those "blood freckles" you mentioned, and A LOT OF PAIN!). I had missed many many doses of my meds these past few weeks due to a change in routine. So that must've triggered it. But the point is, now I'm having these feelings of post-seizure trauma/sadness/melancholy and nobody really knows how it feels, how bad it is. I feel like a baby who needs their mummy, scared of everything, especially sleep... and I'm able to take sleeping meds to go to sleep but I have this terrible habit of waking up in the middle of the night because of night terrors. Sleep has always been an issue with me. So yeah, maybe reading this makes you feel less alone. If you ever want to talk after a seizure, we understand each other (and this goes for anyone reading this comment) - hit me up on instagram @ellastonemusic so we can create a safe network for these things only we fully understand. Wishing you all the best. We can do this, Dido. xx Ella
