Definitely will keep it! Bracelet,typical for Orient is very klimsy, but if you put it on leather strap or different bracelet the result is OMG. If you interested let me know will send you pics of mine! Your watch collection is very unusual,you thinking out of the box. Its really nice!

    Given you favour the smaller watch size, I suggest trying one of the early Seiko quartz watches from 1972-74 (inclusive) and suggest looking for a decent QT or QR, which can be found inexpensively and can be serviced also inexpensively. Try to find one with a case shape that can suit a number of strap types as some of them only fit/suit certain straps. I also like a smaller watch and my current go to is a gorgeous 1973 QT 3803 on a Geckota bracelet; amazingly accurate and precise for a 50 year old and soooo comfortable to wear - it has surprised and ensnared me!

    I like your collection. Nothing pretentious. I love that it mostly consists of really affordable timepieces. The Kuoe watch is impressive though. Looks like an Orient Bambino. I also agree with you about keeping your collection to 8 to 10 watches. Mine consists of 7 at the moment. But only 6 of them are having a wrist time. It's only logical to keep those that get worn on a regular basis than see them collect dusts in a watch box.

    I'm not sure why some people started calling that Seiko 5 "lunar" as it's clearly a cement pattern and colour, and nothing particularly like a lunar surface...At least the one I have looks more urban and industrial like cement anyway. There's no effort to have any cratering for example. One of the few reviews I saw that called it a lunar surface took time to correct people who called it "cement" despite that being the official name from Seiko for the model. All very weird; I can get when people add nicknames to Seiko models that didn't have any (e.g. Samurai, etc) which in turn get adopted by Seiko themselves, but when Seiko already provide a name why propose a new one? Watch collectors are a weird bunch, hehe.

  • @TopTierTicker

    @TopTierTicker

    9 ай бұрын

    I think Lunar just sounds cooler! And the craters certainly do look like the surface of the moon. I've actually held it up against the moon whilst on wrist, and I can see the resemblance. But yeah, officially the Cement. But is a nickname cool if you give it yourself?

  • @itxofficial8281

    Great insight on your collection! Very interesting pieces, to say the least. One thing got me thinking though: In another video, you talk about how you dislike homage watches and would never wear one, since you'd like to spare yourself the embarrassment of having to explain to someone that the watch you're wearing is not the original, but rather a cheap chinese knock-off. Yet, there's the $20 Sanda Tank in your collection. How does that fit together?

  • @TopTierTicker

    @TopTierTicker

    9 ай бұрын

    Watch my review on it. I'm not completely against homage watches, I just don't see the point in wearing a $250 submariner homage when you can get a ridiculously good watch for that amount that's completely original. But what other watches can you get for $20? Barely any. Maybe a few casios. It's one of the cheapest watches in the world that is fairly well built, has a decent strap and has nailed the details. It's special in that regard. There's nothing special about a $200 speedmaster clomage... That's my take on it. I think when 'homage' watches are done right, with the right price, there's nothing wrong with them.

  • @TopTierTicker

    @TopTierTicker

    9 ай бұрын

    I also think it's okay to have 1 maybe 2 homages in a collection. But when someone's watch box is filled with 12 clomages, I just feel like they could do so much better.

    @stelzi290888 same here. Don't get me wrong, the Tsuyosa is an exceptionally well made timepiece and I love wearing it. It's just... comparing the 2 is a bit unfair, since they're not even in the same ballpark. The Tsuyosa's design is loosely based on the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, with an integrated bracelet and a dressy approach (president bracelet, date cyclops). The PRX, on the other hand, is a re-issue of a popular Tissot Seastar model from the 70s, with a sportier approach. They might look similar on paper, but lay them side by side and you will see they are 2 completely different takes on the integrated bracelet design!

    Incorrect. I don't see the point in having a 20+ collection. What's the point when you can only wear one a day? If a watch doesn't get worn for a few weeks, it's gone. I occasionally regret it but I move on to the next one. There's thousands of watches out there, and I want to try out as many as I can. I can't keep them all. That doesn't make financial sense.

    @@TopTierTicker The point is you can wear the watches again rather than let someone else purchase a classic watch for a bargain. Once they become discontinued, it's a challenge to find many models and the prices increase exponentially. It sounds like you are mixing business with pleasure. The advantage of being a consumer is we just care about having an affordable watch and enjoying the experience even if it means multiple watches. Profit is the least of our concerns.

    @@rotweilerscholar1181 The guy from "Just One More Watch" is also a flipper. He gets the reviewed watches gifted from retailers or brands in exchange for plugging them in his videos and then sells the watches on ebay. He even admitted to this several times.

    It's a $15 watch. Feel free to point me in the direction of another $15 watch that nails the details as good as that one. I don't see the point in spending $250 on a submariner clomage when you can buy a beautiful Orient for the same price. This $15 literally has no competition. If you can't see the difference, there's nothing I can do to help you.

    Why do people buy brands like CW or Mido - they aren't attractive and not of quality compared to other fashion brands eg: Hugo Boss. I'll never buy another fashion watch ever, I own 2 and they just aren't worth it. Btw - there's nothing called a Casio Royale - it's bs claimed by silly influencers for views.
