My DIY AQUATIC PLANT FARM!!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Have you ever thought of growing and propagating aquatic plants? It is really simple to do emersed and you can sell trimmings to people or use them for your own aquariums. This is my way of doing it and so far it is working out great. I'm not too sure what I'll do with these during the winter though.. I'm sure the plants will die back a little. I may have to lid them up and put them in direct sunlight or bring them indoors.

Great video Ryo. I'm in NZ and trying to grow aquatic plants in my greenhouse, not very successful however you have highlighted where I could be going wrong. I only spray my plants morning and night but as they are aquatic I like how you keep water above the soil so they keep hydrated. I'm going to give this a go so thank you

That is so cool ! I just got back in the hobby, had disastrous results with a sterile tank about 10 years ago and sold everything in an access of rage. This time I will go 100% natural. I was worried that I don't have enough plants to begin with. Fall comes quick in north of Canada. I was just in time to get some in the lake before they all froze and died. Now that I know I can grow them inside (and quick!) I will get to it asap maybe with more exotic plants comming from a store. ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘🤘

Hey mate! Absolute awesome work with all your aquatic mini plant farms! They’re looking amazing bro also just thinking you could possibly... if you built the rack out of wood, connecting them all up with small PVC piping an each one in slightly lowered pigeonholes leading down to the bottom with a ( blacked out fish tank ) with an overflow and a pump pushing the water up to the first mini aquaponic plant farm? lots of fish in a sump tank may help with the plants.

Thank you for your tutorial. Doing this outdoors brings unwanted bugs inside into your aquariums. Maybe use a net of some kind over the plants would help keep bugs out but it definitely wouldn't keep them all out. But as long as you dont mind the bugs then it doesnt matter, seeing as plants usually grow much better outside.

Wow, Ryo, what a huge collection you have. I 💜 your backyard "jungle" & am looking forward to seeing your pond when you put it in (maybe you have already since this video is from a year ago). That must come in super handy when you want to set up a new tank! I picked up a few plants yesterday for eventual use in a 14 gal tank I received as a Christmas gift and I want to grow them emersed until I'm ready for them. You mentioned you had lids on some of them at some point & you also mentioned you don't recommend growing them indoors. Would you please talk about when to lid & what to do if you are going to do it indoors? It's winter where I am and I will have to grow the plants I mentioned indoors. Last but not least, question: What do you do with the plants when you move them to an aquarium? Do you do the lights off method I've heard mentioned?

Hi Ryo. Do you have any tips of reintroducing to a newly set up aquarium? For example, I’d be keen to know if emersed growth trimmings can establish quickly enough to provide the planting “bulk†to reduce risk of algae early on in a new high tech tank? (would they need have roots or are cuttings ok)? Thank you!

Awesome Ryo. You're the GOAT of aquatic plant farms. How much sunlight do they get though? Do they get morning sun? Does it matter when in the day they get sunlight? What's the outside temperature they can tolerate? I would appreciate the response. TIA

I think I want to start a set up like this (on a smaller scale tho) for some of my plants. Oh and now I know I have that Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig' thanks to you! It was in Japanese when I bought it (I don't read it haha) and wasn't 100% if it was Hygrophila. I love your backyard jungle too. Mine is a hill covered in plants and trees and it's kinda scary haha The banana spiders are insane here on Okinawa!

So on this video all those plants are fully submersible its summer here in chicago. Try natural aquarium using cheap top soil with play sand for top off like dr fish recommended

Wow that’s so cool! So you say the plants survive a Japanese winter? I am in Sydney and get full sun on my balcony so will try this in some large vases!
