My Depression Experience & Recovery - Simon Hogan's Story | headspace
Geelong player and headspace ambassador Simon Hogan shares his story of seeking help for depression. He advocates for people to seek help from professionals and it's ok to take a bit of time to find a professional that understands you. Remembering you're not alone and there is help out there are his key points.

It takes real courage for a young man who was already a public figure to be willing to share his story. I hope that we can change the culture of our youth, that this is NOTHING to be embarrassed or ashamed about; it's more common than we think. The weak are the ones that make fun of this issue. The strong are the one that speak out and help others.

Thanks for sharing Sir.God bless
Thank you
Well done young man - it takes a lot of guts to speak of mental illness because of the perception of stigma. Good thing is that we are seeing more and more people opening up and speaking about this very common issue. I can relate to having to deal with "the black dog" as Winston Churchill referred to it.
I went through something similar a few years ago and was able to find a councilor who helped get me back on track. Good on you Simon for getting out there and being an ambassador for this organisation. Looking forward to seeing you out there in the hoops next year.
