    The older Kamvas with Pentech 3.0 support were not bad. But the new drawing tablets from Huion with Pentech 4.0 are significantly better again. The quality is no joke and compared to Wacom you still save a thousand of dollars. Pentech 4.0 is however very new, so you might want to wait the end of the year to see if there won't be new products. The Kamvas 19 and 27 can't run just by being pugged to the PC. You'll need to connect an additional included adapter to power these pen displays.

    The OG Tourbox was the greatest gift I ever got myself, thanks to your original video on it. I love it so much. If I ever need to replace it, I might go with this one. We'll see.

    One poor student here lol. I've been itching to get my hands on one of their controllers for ages. Finally, it's my chance to treat myself!

    As an animator, I use nearly every damn key on the keyboard + Shift & Ctrl combos... (Painting keys + Animation keys + Menu control keys). I had no choice but to settle for a mini-keyboard (without the number pad). It fits well enough, just slightly behind my tablet. Keeping my hand in a relaxed position, thumb on the J key (to feel for the - notch). ...and I'm still trying to figure a way to add hotkeys for vector work without my brain turning to Jiffypop.

    I don't think I could use it, I got used to the normal tourbox with all the buttons. But I'm glad that they release new products, I hope the brand has much more success, I even want to continue supporting it by buying a replacement Tourbox, it's beautiful to use.

    I had a moment where I had to come up with new combos to replace dpad combos. Turned out there's plenty of combinations for my purposes here, and it made things a bit more meaningful and organized now. I'll keep using Lite for some more time to see if I need anything more, but so far I only had to get used to the cable on my desk. Feels kind of strange to have all my actions in less buttons, and if I go back to Elite - what do I do with those extra controls lol

    That looks pretty good. Thanks for a great and practical review! I draw kind of oddly but this is still almost useful (but it fails the $/utility metric given how I draw). I only need a scroll wheel and a couple of buttons, so I actually would like to see something come on the market that I could easily just hold in my offhand or on my lap (I draw to the left side so my right hand is not even over the desk.)

    This may be one of those times where being lefthanded pays off because i feel like ive been using an mmo style gaming mouse to do pretty much the same thing as this device. A mouse is usually ergonomically designed for the righthand so ive got my stylus in my lefthand and my mouse in my right and since its designed for mmos its got a ton of programmable buttons on it and yes a scroll wheel xD.

    Wow, it looks like I would find useful for editing maybe. Navigating the timeline, tools shortcuts etc. Like those fancy logitec keyboards with knobs.

    I use a joy con, you could get the samefunctions if you are willing to spend the time doing all the binds, the only difference is u get a joystick instead of scroll. its not great for big projects, but if you tune it down to what you actually going to use and what you can let go of, you can settle down to like 3 buttons really, and for brush sizes having 2-3 variations of the same brush different sizes or properties, when having like 5 brushes in that setup declutters your workflow with keybinds and doing random shit instead of just going ham with one brush and making it work like irl

    What would you usually map on the dial on the Tourbox Elite which was removed in the Lite version? Is it worth it to get the Elite just for the added buttons/dials?

    I use a Bluetooth VR remote and software called AntiMacro. It works so well once you get it set up. A $5 set up. I'm looking into possibly getting this or the clip studio tabmate. That remote is so comfortable and less strain on the wrist or fingers. Yet I still bounce between my remote and keyboard depending on the moment. Lol my Huion tablet buttons are offended.

  • @BoroCG

    @BoroCG

    4 ай бұрын

    They're very similar, but Neo is higher price, it has more buttons and a classic look. I think I can recommend Lite for most cases, especially if you do 2D-art. There's some benefit in arrow keys in the classic layout though - they bring a lot more combos, plus they can act as actual keyboard arrow keys, which is actually quite useful in many cases

    If you have an Xbox controller you can set it up with a key mapper like Joy2Key to have similar functionality as this. I think I have had 32 functions mapped to just one half of a controller(hold it in left hand instead of keyboard).

    Oh yeah I made a vid comparing gaming controllers to TB, it's really hard - in comparison - to use Xbox or DualShock/Sense with one hand, while the thing sits on the table. It's a shame they don't put at least one knob on those, too lol

    I wouldn't be satisfied spending hundreds for the Tourbox Elite 😹 Does this one get fingerprints easily? Is this less or more comfortable than the others? Is it less or more fun? :)

  • @BoroCG

    @BoroCG

    No fingerprints, TB switched to more traditional textured plastic in newer versions, so it now looks better. Comfort is the same, I miss the pinkie button on the side, but I do like not having the dial, since it was easy to accidentally spin sometimes. Elite is more fun with haptics and bluetooth, I also like the white color. Lite has a cooler shape design though, and it's a bit smaller which is nice

    in all honesty. Since its beeen 3 weeks since you posted this. Are you actually using it still? Has it become a part of your actual work flow? I've bout many external devices to help with my graphic work, but often get anoyed and stop using them. I don't want to waste money on another device if I'm just going to toss it in a drawer later =/.
