I have to say that is a very nice cabinet heard you talk about it before but seeing it is so nice.

There I was, looking proudly at my two watch boxes with 15 watches in one and 10 in the other with space for another 5..............and then I saw your watch chest. Here in Istanbul, Turkey, there's a famous company called Bosphorous Leather that can provide luxury watch boxes, straps......... and watch winder trunks for a very reasonable of $6,000 up to $20,000. A great way to store your automatic watches with humidity control, a touch screen to control winding speed of the magnetically shielded winders and set specific winding intervals. Exactly what a wealthy KZreadr needs Marc 😉😁

Marc, glad you have your watches organized, and now have a watch library for your hobby & work. You obvious care for them a lot, even defending your choices vs haters from social media.

Noticed you’re wearing your gshock! FYI you can change the backlight duration from the default 1.5 seconds to 3 seconds in adjust mode. Just sharing something I learned recently.

Marc this is my dream, your cabinet has inspired me to make something similar. My stacked 12 slot watch boxes are piled high near the bedroom window so its time to move my 68+ watches to a new, larger estate. As I am down under in AUSTRALIA I can't really import a cabinet, so self modification seems the best option for me. Love the section for bands and parts etc. Nice job buddy.

The watch cabinet is absolutely perfect. The lifespan of even an expensive watch depends on how it is stored. I also want to make a watch cabinet for my son someday. Hermit crabs are really cute.ㅎ

Hi Marc,what a great watch cabinet plus spare room for more. The price of the watch doesn’t count it’s the buzz you get from putting it on your wrist,and what it means to you. So enjoy your watch collection from the $ to the $$$$.

You know you got a good carpenter if he is old and does not have a website. They are pure craftsmen, not just plywood in a jig builders. That looks really nice! I have always wondered about the detail of that chest of drawers and the story behind it, thanks for the tour. That said, being from South Africa where crime and housebreaking is at the order of the day, my watches live in a safe. You are lucky to live in a society where you can do that. Here, if someone gets sniff that you have drawers full of watches, they will be appropriated without compensation very quickly 😀😀 Are you not worried about security of them?

Very nice solution and out of the way, too, so you don't inflict your watch habit in family members who may not care. Cool to have employed your local contractor or builder or furniture maker, especially since the relationship has lasted and expanded to other improvements for your house and more work for him!

That looks good. I only change quartz watches after the clocks go back as I wear them, if I don't wear some of them for months they will be on the rigjt time when the clocks go forward again.

@@islandwatch true, but usually the kind that hit suburban homes are essentially smash and grabbers. They know they only have 5-15 minutes before the cops respond to the alarm. So they usually only take what is easy. After the attempted home invasion of our house in 2017, I’ve made our house the most unattractive place for crooks to come. Lights, alarms, cameras, facial recognition software and signage stating it.

How impressive, it is cool and tastefully made. I use to buy small boxes in order to not buy too many watches 😅 That crab and Hugo could be friends 😂

Very nice. Completely unrelated I have to tell you how great your new 39mm Pilot watch is. I have the Vintage Gold Livery. Looks beautiful and puts out a Rolex Explorer vibe. I’m getting blue dial for that reason 😂

Marc: everyone knows you're one of the nicest guys in the watch world but that story about Hermie the Hermit Crab just confirmed how nice a guy you are!

I have a chest like that too, but mine is way simpler. I used a chest from Ikea called the Alex range and hand crafted the wooden slots. Which was a huge effort BTW, to do it properly you really need a table saw. It's not a difficult project if you have the tools and looks real cool

Cool storage solution. I'm guessing it would be fairly easy to adjust the number of cubes to suit any standard drawer size depending on how lucky you are on the watch collection front❤

IEKA has a chest of drawers with 4 drawers, and about perfect for large watch box. Random Rob has converted on or his large collection. Seems like a great bargain solution for the large collector.

Marc, thank you for that insight into your own collection/enthusiasm in our hobby/world, I love that chest that you had made, but my main concern is that you're putting all your eggs in the same basket, i.e. everything is in the same place? I know that it maybe seen as being a bit over cautious, but I would prefer to 'distribute/scatter' my watches, so they aren't all 'discovered' at the same time, in the same place?
