    I added a floor on my intex inflatable (forgot the model) but if you add a few pool noodles that you cut length wise, they can be used around the edge of the wood and then wrap in carpet. It helps fill the void between the chambers and provides a little more stability.

    I put a strip of carpet around the edge then wrapped it. I thought the noodles would rip and deform over time

    Nice for sure. I’ve been eyeing this same boat and watching vids on how to make the floor. I just don’t know about an inflatable boat. It’s save me money for sure but I’m kind of leery. Let me ask, do you leave it inflated and if not do you inflate once you get to the water and if so how long does it take you to inflate and get the trolling motor attached? Also, what battery do you use?

  • @TheYendorian

    @TheYendorian

    Жыл бұрын

    I inflate it at the water I usually lay a tarp out and do it on top. From start to in the water and ready I'd say 30 to 40 min depending on how slow and sidetracked I get hahaha I have a 12v 45lb thrust motor and a big deep cycle battery. The battery is probably the heaviest thing on the raft besides me haha

    It's worth the 30 min of setup, I got mine for free and just discovered all the mods. It seats 4 comfortably and you can get legal tags from Intex if you want to register it. I live in a state that requires a license for using outboard/trolling motors and I'm working on getting it. But yeah it's really easy to build them out with simple materials. I don't have enough space or money for a boat on a trailer so this is perfect for me. Even got a 50cc outboard motor for $100 to go with mine. Trolling motors are way quieter though. Buy the motors used. If you're gonna buy the boat used, read the owners manual. It has tips to avoid punctures by avoiding overinflation measuring points on the boat. Provided you store and use it right it should last decades. My mom had an inflatable boat that lasted for 20 years!
