I had been watching some of Teal Swans videos before this documentary came out. They would just pop up in my algorithm. Mostly about mental health issues. Those videos never had her other beliefs in them. So I had no idea she was so culty. I have been feeling so stupid. I feel like I fall for things like this easily. Thank you for sharing and talking about how easy it is to fall into things like this. Really helps. Love you Lisa! 🥰

MLMs are more of a giant organized criminal type of scam than a cult. Lisa, I love that you are so soft hearted that you want to see the best in people and give them the benefit of the doubt, but I hope that that never gets you or anyone else watching this in trouble that you all can't get yourself out of either.

I just started watching the documentary since you talked about it the other day. I'm two episodes in and it's just so sad how people like that exist. Taking advantage of vulnerable people should be harshly punished. With social media the way it is, it's so so easy to get caught up in things like this. MLM's are absolutely cults. They prey on vulnerable people who get sucked in by "friendships" while not realizing as soon as they leave the MLM, those people are going to drop them. The only reason I can think that MLM'S are still legal is because they have the money to lobby to keep them legal. It's so sickening when you start looking into to them!

You’re so right MLM’s are pyramid schemes through and through. Whether you’re talking about Mary Kay, Cutco, Herbalife, Lularoe, or Lipsense, they’re all ripping people off. They get away with it because they pay off the right people. Also, many people seem to feel that if you fail at MLM’s that that’s because you don’t try. You need to hussle more or work longer hours or talk to more people. Rather than seeing these schemes as anything but predatory.

As a theatre kid and a theatre major, I definitely think separating theatre from my personal life has benefitted me in so many ways. I just kind of do my thing with my handful of friends and observe everyone else...and listen in on the tea about all the drugs the musical theatre kids are doing. LOL, theatre is wild ya'll. I also definitely think my show choir in highschool was pretty cult-y. The two instructors were very allusive and picked favorites, and everyone competed to get recognized in class. Yikesssss.

I ate at a vegan restaurant in San Francisco that once I really started looking at the decor it was 100% owned by a cult. They had giant pictures everywhere of their leader with major celebrities and political figures and a video on the TV of a celebration of the leader and feats of strength. They also had books and pamphlets at the register but no one actually tried to talk to me about the cult, TG!

Interesting story!! Ive watched the vid a few times and i really enjoyed the story. I was in the music business for 40 plus years and a wealthy cult in North America infiltrated the corporate level of the business to make deals with managers, agents, or the artist themselves. It wasnt something you see only in a Tom Cruise movie. Its just business as usual and I dont understand why people generally have a difficult time in believing that it all exists? I grew up in a occultism environment. As a child there were people around me that practiced dark magic. It didn't seem to be an environment influenced by the media. In the early 70s some cults came across more mysterious and secretive....not so much outrageous behavior for attention. For example...flaunting evil. In the early 70s there was this particular cult that worshipped at Menantico...a place in the pine barrens of south jersey... They gathered by the water ...pounding on drums and sing song chanting....sometimes screaming...dressed in robes and masks. They were creepy...and mysterious. They practiced a ritual they referred to as the "One Hundred Year Ritual " which supposedly had taken place on these grounds in 1871...and was repeated in 1971 at Menantico. It was a documented case which involved a few people in my age group but mostly controlled and motivated by adults. Several of them were interrogated for being behind the ritualistic killing of a young man in Vineland. The young man's two friends admitted to the killing. Certain wealthy individuals belonging to this particular cult were interrogated . They supposedly programmed people. They tried to conjure a demon. Their reference of 40 leagues of demons is a Judeo-Christian concept to be found in Colin DePlancey and others....derived from medieval theologians where demons had hierarchies and legions. They were a mysterious cult ....

What you describe certainly has some cult-like features. Many times there’s what seems like a perfectly rational reason for restrictive diets but really it’s a form of control and manipulation. It sets up the person to start thinking of themselves as better or somehow stronger because they’re able to stick to the diet. It also starts to create an us vs them. They may feel like they bond over this restrictive diet. Hanging out together in increasing amounts. Discouraging people to hang out together rather than outside this new group. Discouraging people from hanging out with anyone they cannot indoctrinate into their group. Monopolizing time so that the person doesn’t have the time to think about how weird it is that they’re always together, avoiding anyone (accidentally or on purpose) who doesn’t fit into this group. Also, restrictive diets can also be used to limit caloric/vitamins/minerals/hydration intake which can leave the person with almost a foggy brain. It doesn’t take someone to be very good looking or even outgoing. They just have to be very good at selling the cult lifestyle. No large cult ever got that way from announcing right from jump that it is a cult. It’s either a group of people trying to understand God, religion, their place in the world, how to eat better, help others, find meaning, or make friends or find a family. Then the diet thing comes into play. The segregating of people from outsiders. The mental manipulation starts to happen. It’s really weird but people can rationalize all sorts of things to continue to be in a cult. That’s why people leaving a cult may need to seek help to realize how much their minds, their thoughts and their feeling were manipulated. I’m glad you left when you did. Not all cults are the big ones that get press for killing or raping. Some can be quite small/local.

I am grateful to say that I am a born again Christian and have been since I was 19.......the reason I believe we have such things as cults is because of the ultimate deception and abuse of Satan himself who the Bible says goes around like a roaring lion seeking to whom he may devour!!!! I feel so sorry for people who have been devoured abused and burned by cults! I pray that they find the precious gospel truth and they’re able to escape Satan’s abduction immediately! and folks if you don’t know Christ as your savior then it burdens my soul to think that you are headed for a terrible place called Hell where the Bible says the fire is never quenched and the worm dies not! Folks you are not promised tomorrow! If you want to know how to be saved from this horrible reality then please by all means don’t hesitate to comment right back so I can lead you to the savior! 2 Corinthians 6:2 clearly states “now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation!” And Hebrews 3:15 clearly states, “Today if you hear his voice don’t harden your hearts! It is not me but the Holy Spirit that I pray reveals to you the truth of his precious gospel......John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes on him will not perish but have everlasting life! V 17 says then V 18 says whoever believes on the son is not condemned but whoever does not believe on the son is condemned already because he has not believed on the son whom God has sent! Also Acts 16:30-31 what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house I am not threatening anyone but just warning them what will happen if they reject this precious gift of eternal life! Christ died a horrible criminals death! He was beaten brutally mocked spit upon and endured countless hours of torture pain for all of our sins! Ppl go to hell because they reject that pardon for their sins! And Jesus is saying to them in Matthew 25:41 depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! Hell was only prepared for Satan and his angels! It is not God who threatens anyone it is the craziness of rejecting the free pardon of salvation! It’s like if you’re in court you’ve committed a crime say you murdered someone! Now if you say to that Judge hey I know I’ve done a terrible thing of murdering that person but I hear you’re a good judge and so I know you’ll be fair to me...... the judge is going to reply well yes you’re right about one thing I am a good judge and because I’m a good judge I’m going to see to it that you’re punished and that justice is served! Well then all of a sudden someone you don’t even know comes forward and says you know what I know he’s committed the crime he’s committed and he deserves to go to jail but I really don’t want to see him go to prison so I’ll just go to prison for him so he can go free! So if you accepted that offer you’d be free to leave the courtroom but if you didn’t well you’d be crazy and go to prison yourself! Well that’s exactly how it was 2,000 years ago! He is God in human flesh and he came to this earth lived a perfect sinless life and even though he knew that we had sinned and because of our sins deserved to die miserably but he said no I don’t want to see them suffer so I will go and take their punishment for them! Even though he did absolutely nothing wrong still he chose to take the punishment for our sins so we can be set free from the power bondages and consequences of our disobedience to God! Romans 5:8 says For God commends his love toward us that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us! 1 John 2:2 says he was made to be the propitiation for our sins! And not just for our sins but the sins of the whole world! 2 Corinthians 5:21 He who knew no sin became Sin for us that we would be made his righteousness! The truth is if you had to get to Heaven by your own effort then you cannot do it! Because Romans 3:10 says there is not one that does good! No Not One! Romans 3:23 says For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord! But the good news is Romans 10:9 If we confess with our mouth and believes in our hearts that Christ died for our sins then was raised from the dead we will be saved! V 10 For it’s with the heart we believe and it’s with the mouth confession is made unto salvation! God gave us 10 commandments to follow and we’ve broken every one of them! And because God is a good God he cannot allow our disobedience to him to go unpunished! Well then like I just mentioned above his son Jesus stepped forward and said no I don’t want to see them punished so I will take their punishment for them! And also like I said he died a terrible substitute criminal’s death for us on a cross so now all we have to do is accept that payment for our sins and we can escape the terrible wrath of God that is to fall on them who do not accept this atonement that was sacrificed for our sins! Praise the lord Romans 10:13 says Whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be saved! And 1 Peter 1:4 you’re an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you! Christ clearly said in John 14:6 I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father but through me! Acts 4:12 clearly states that there is no other name given unto Heaven or earth by which we must be saved as there is salvation in no other! Jesus clearly states that there is clearly only one way to Salvation and it’s him that’s it! There is no other way! God Bless everyone who reads!

Girl, speaking of Teal Swan.. There is something very sick about her. Her philosophy is that dying by suicide is just a "reset button". That in the realm of reincarnation, you can just come back healthier and happier with life. Which of course we know that's absolutely not how it works, and anyone who's struggling should reach out to everyone necessary for help, but these poor people were obviously not in a good place. There are two people that I know of who followed her that actually took this as a sign to actually do it, and I find that so heartbreaking.. How that woman isn't in prison is beyond me. Much love to everyone who reads this, remember if you are struggling anything in your life there are people who care and will not ask you for money, or do anything else to hurt you. Stay safe. ✌💖💕✨
