As a mother-in-law I would never say anything that would make my daughter in law feel unappreciated.

You should have went to the hospital to check your back and press charges on her glad your husband was on your side .

Why didn't the daughter-in-law pressed charges against her mother-in-law? She clearly assaulted her daughter-in-law when she pushed her and she got hurt

No! It's about respecting your son and his wife. Respecting the fact that they are adults and can make their own decisions. Respecting that they have their own lives to live.

I always find it interesting that the mother in law never serves her own mother in law.😂

What traditions. Tradion of bullying and belittling others to make yourself feel superior. Some traditions need to be scrapped.

Finally someone says No to these crazy MIL how dare she think she can boss you around, she can want all the control she wants giving it is your choice.

No one, not even a parent has the right to enter a home without an invitation, and not barge or bully their way in. And to shove or push someone in an effort to make a demand or enforce their personal rules is a sure way to get the snot slapped out of them and literally kicked out permanently!

A friend told me how her granddaughter handle an attack by her MIL. The MIL had the audacity to slap her DIL, only to be quickly backhanded by the girl. A backhand can hurt more than a slap due to the knuckles. Her FIL came at her but she ducked and gut punched him, landing him on his rear. DIL's husband looked down at his dad and said something about his dad needing to see her roundhouse kick. Her folks had both served in the military and saw to it that all their kids knew how to defend themselves. This MIL needs to be kick (literally) out the door.

David is so wishy washy...don't allow your wife to be bullied by the M.I.L....stay home and let the M.I.L. do it all..she wouldn't be happy how you did things anyway..it is all about control

My mother was demanding but not that demanding..never heard of this “family tradition” a lot of stories has that in it.

Am I one of the few people who knowledges that those stories came from reddit? Hate to say but similar trouble situation to tend to sadly repeat in families many families in fact seeing a similar repeat is likely going to happen it really sucks when thinking about i Really the repeating stories are just the sad fact of life
