This reminds me of a take on the old 2000s movie "Ghost Ship" with he cursed gold. All crew and passengers killed. Only the female survives. Most notable moment is the opening where a wire snaps on top deck and slices everyone in half. There is a ghost girl who wants to sink the ship to free the souls. Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers that gem of a move, and relates this story to the movie

I know we joke about how specific Creepypasta titles have been getting but this one is literally a step away from being called "Cosmic horror in *my* cruise ship? It's more likely than you think."

Yes yes, creepypasta title funny, but can we talk about how good and creepy this story is? It could easily fit in with some Lovecraftian stuff. The vibes you get from the boat, the Hungry Man, the collection, and his gifts... really unsettling.

Honestly, this story was awesome, no words.

I had meant to fall asleep to this but damn this was too good

Shoulda torpedoed that damn thing from miles away. Preferably with a dumbfire, since spooky curses tend to mess with electronics like guidance systems. Honestly, it'd probably serve the sea better as an anchor-point for coral and kelp.

So far this is really good, I love derelict ships tales...Damn this was excellent! Screw the titles, I’m here for substance and this delivered. It’s just the right length for a good build up, an unsettling peak, and one helluva an ending. Damn good work! 👍

Yeah, the Coast Guard went back. We were trained to deal with wayward soul collectors of various manifestations, despite the constant criticism and put downs by our horny big sister branches who get off on bullying their little brother branch, we have our honorable hours. Dealing with Davy Jones types is like week one of basic training. See, what you do is create a bit of a custodial situation. One man’s talking to the entity, the other two or three are triangulating behind the being and looking around suspiciously. Then we start asking the questions, rapid fire like, “where’s you life jackets, throwable floatation devices, flares, are they expired, is this ship California compliant on fuel regulation, captains license, where the deployable rafts, fire extinguishers, what’s in the backpack, have you been drinking tonight sir or ma’am.” Before you know it, we have it detained and bewildered with enchanted hand cuffs, job done. I don’t expect you damned civilians to understand. Now sea serpents and fish men? Whole other subject, always a soup-sandwich situation. And the aliens and their pranks? Outrageous, I don’t even get their humor. But they get fines. Lighthouse ghosts are also a problem. I hate this branch.

Note to self: If you can't get it up, and it's not coming easy, just cut it. 👍

Possible shorter title: Mr. Hungry The Ocean Takes Its Due Abandon Ship A Hunger At Sea i guess i see why they've gotten so descriptive. If i wanted to find this story again, i might not remember a clever, brief title. I'd probably search for "creepypasta cruise ship refurb" or something.
