You are the first person I have watched plan in a bullet journal, that made me want to try it. I am not very artistic and I like functional planning. I like that your style is not centered around all the pretty lettering and the cute monthly, weekly, and daily layouts! I am loving your setup, especially the way you project plan. I use a ring planner but it is to confining for doing project planning. I love your project planning dashboard. Thank you for letting me see another alternative to the BuJo!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that, because when I first thought about doing a video, I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested since I don't decorate much! Glad to know that's not true. Because for me that's the beauty of the BuJo, it can be as simple or complicated as you need it to be! :)

Thank you so much for this ❤ I've been trying to start a bullet journal for a while but every time I see a video on how to start it I just get overwhelmed with all the artsy stuff and the fact that they just aren't practical . Yours is just so real and down to earth, you have inspired me to start one today.

Excellent!! One of the best bullet journal/planner videos I've seen (and I've seen a LOT). Great tempo - not annoyingly slow or fast, lol! I appreciate your concise, specific examples; and the ideas themselves. I will be implementing several of them. One thing I was not entirely clear on was near the end, your explanation of the "prioritizing tip-in", and how you use it. I must not be understanding the idea, because it seemed redundant - and you don't strike me as a redundant kind of gal. Thanks for the video!

I watched your videos back when Michelle was in your channel name, and when no one was using comp books (XXL Moleskine) size Travelers Notebooks for bullet journals. I was so excited to find your videos because I bullet journaled then in a college ruled composition book. I found a book to use as my Travelers Notebook that has 2 strings, but I only wrapped the 2 ml elastic around, so I could hang sari and charms. The book was about Fairies. (I did save the guts.) Then I found a notebook made by Martha Stewart, I think. I bought it on clearance but didn't know what I was going to use it for. It fits comp books perfectly. It was very easy to just pull the ring mechanism out. I wrapped the elastic on that one too. The elastic is pink and it just looks decorative and took more time to find its components than to put it together. Then, the big Daddy.. a long time ago a freaky psycho-therapist gave me a copy from a book. The 1st chapter. It was called "Your brain is not a computer." I've been searching for the book for too many years. That chapter was amazing and life changing. I couldn't go back to that "PSYCHO therapist," though. He was too geeky I would say today. But back then, creepy was my thought. It had me make an alphabetized notebook. So similar but bullet journals with indexes are so much more efficient. Anyway, back then I found a cute and pretty address book made by a famous designer that I can't think of, of course. I was wandering with this book and I found a larger binder "photo album" with the same rings!! I ditched the photo sleeves (today wish I hadn't. ) I bought 2 phone books for extra pages and the photo album. I made a fabric slip cover with handles. I think that may have been my last behind a sewing machine project. (Bad back.) I used a a complicated patterned fabric with darker tones. I think it was my idea of not showing dirt if I set it down in public. I named it "My Brain." My now adult children had great fun when I'd be running around asking if they'd seen my brain. LoL That book holds 5 composition books. (I also easily removed the ring mechanism.) I took all the covers off of the composition books. I haven't covered them yet, but my long arm stapler is waiting. I'm still considering separating some into smaller books. I was also able to wrap the pink elastic around because the slip cover hides it. This is where in time that I found your channel. My original thought was just divided journal-type writing. But you sold me on the Moleskine! More lines!🤩 So, I am back to share with you that I FINALLY found a wonderful way to work on my Genealogy Bullet Journal. I've been a family historian for 40 years. I search many step families for those that "stepped in, stepped up, and gave a sh..." too. Technology is so amazing and I'm so thankful for all of those that volunteer to index, like I do. It's a volunteer job that I fit into my planner and can do in my pajamas. I've been trying to figure out how to set up my sticky notes like you did but our genres aren't the same and I couldn't quite figure out the breakdown of columns for all of the information that can be researched for just 1 person. I'm also a multi-blogger on hiatus. I've been trying to figure this out because I'm completely rebranding and my current landing page is full of 8 million broken links. I'm switching to Divi themes for Wordpress and I found a child theme that makes me feel comfortable. They say write while you search, but that doesn't work for me. I needed the steps of blogging from beginning to end, and a way to back-follow (I think I just made that up.) for referencing for inter-linking. There is so much to remember and follow up on. I'm just a pen and paper girl. Here is my solution for blogging and its beautiful. For genealogy, I think the column steps will take 4 pages or 2 page spreads. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYWYw6yJaNSopdI.html

This is the way I've been doing it, too, but without the cover. A standard composition book has pretty crappy paper, but the covers are fairly stiff, so I just rubber band two together (back cover of the first one to the front cover of the second) and I like that it's pretty compact.

Really enjoy your BuJo videos! I've tried bullet journaling a few times with different journals and layouts. My issue is sticking with it enough to make it a habit. Right now I'm using a traditional planner, but it doesn't have the year or the dates. You write all of those in yourself. It's pretty cool because I can just turn the page and continue it on if I miss a week or so. I need to try harder to implement it into my daily life. I hate being a procrastinator lol!

I have been wishing, longing for & dreaming of a composition sized traveler journal. After many moons of searching for the right combo of search words to bring up what I had in mind, I finally stumbled across your video last night... opened sooooo many doors for me and I can't tell you how excited & grateful I am for finding you! I have been trying to operate out of a Cahier sized notebook and as a passionate writer/list maker, it has been confining. I am just really more curious about how you attached your elastics, as I see this notebook doesn't come with them. I'm not able to see how you got them secured inside and I really would want to add them. Thank you for any further insight you might be able to provide in how you accomplished that with this notebook. And thanks for the thorough tour... I plan on sitting down and re-watching to take some notes! Appreciate you :-)

Couldn't add a picture, so I put a video link below. The plastic placemat worked better than the foam placemat. The grid was pretty easy, but not sure of its strength for a composition notebook size, also it was 8.5x11 size. Just got my composition notebook cover from Oberon Design and haven't made the insert yet. I'm going to try the plastic placemat. If it isn't strong enough, I'll use two placemats together. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dXuG2KmjgsyWoaQ.html

The beauty of the bullet journal is it can be as simple or as complex as you need it to be. Take a look at the Ryder Caroll link to see how minimalist it can go--essentially just a running to do list. But I agree--if it took me an hour a day to keep this up, there's no way I'd do it. Mine takes about 5 mins per day. :)

Are those Moleskin journals the same dimensions and number of pages as a regular composition book like the marble design school ones with about 80 pages? I have a bunch of them. I love the cover of this. Many people cover theirs with prettier paper, but a leather type cover is so much nicer and reusable I tend to organize papers with physical piles on surfaces. Like a small stack of bills to pay, school papers, medical papers, a project like taxes, or transportation, etc. Drove my husband crazy. He would "help" me by Ambush cleaning when i was out. He'd hide all my papers and I'd be completely lost and unable to function. Had to call him every 5 minutes to ask where is this pile of papers? He only said it's somewhere in the house. Because he didn't even look at what he was moving. He just didn't want to see that "clutter" to him. Sometimes i would even find my important mail thrown away!! Either in the paper recycling bin or even the garbage with coffee grounds dumped on top. He expects me to handle all the secretarial function of running a household but interfered with my methods of getting it done. But i didn't go to his place of employment and rearrange all of his paperwork. And then he'd get mad AT ME because i wasn't grateful for his "help"!! Each time he ambush cleaned it would throw me off for weeks or months. His HELP felt like an attack every time
