Thank you, and yes, every little bit helps! For example in my 2024 setup I'm using a TN. Three of my inserts are FSC certified; one is not. 75% is better than 0% :).

Great video- I am currently in love with the Sterling B6 Common Planner! But no matter which planner I use, I love picking up hints and ideas!

OMG, I just looked at this Apple Pig , it's simply breathtaking ❤️, when I'm ready to move into a new cover, I'm gonna get the one you have, I NEVER even knew you could get one like that with those extra flaps for credit cards, THATS exactly what I needed, never even knew they existed. I didn't know Stalogy was eco-friendly. I love their notebooks, so its another little bonus :) Also, I've been eyeing ApplePig for a couple years, and yours is so beautiful, it's tempting me again. My newest is a B6 Chic Sparrow(about a year old) in Giovanni but it's not as sturdy-feeling as my A5 version. The leathers are very different despite being the 'same leather.' The B6 is a bit rubbery. How's Ting's leather selection? I've heard rave review on him for years, and I love that he truly customizes notebooks. I tend to like my leather with weight, but not bulk. It looks like the Naughty Fox fits that bill.

Yes, leathers differ even within the same "color." I think if you message Ting and tell him what you're looking for, he can choose the leather pieces which will work best. His shop offers a much more customized experience than you'll find with some of the bigger brands.

Will you show the notebook all set up? I think i heard you say it at the beginning but cant remember. This year is my first time writing out my own planner like this and struggling to picture it all. I love this video soooo much

Really loved you video and how informative it is. May I ask when you put in your order from Apple Pig for the A5 Size, did you order the "A5 Regular" or the "A5 Wide Cut". I'm kinda of confused on which one to get since I plan on using a Hobonichi Cousin in this cover.

Hello! I ordered A5 Wide, and then Ting asks you to tell him what you plan to use in it, the total thickness of your assorted notebooks, etc. I asked for it to nicely hug an A5 Hobonichi Techo Cousin (full year).

@@KeyLimeInk Ok that’s very helpful. I plan on using my Hobonichi Cousin and a Stalogy 365 together. So it sounds like the A5 wide cut would be the best fit instead of the regular size. Thanks for your help.

I'm just seeing your comment and am so sorry to hear about your stroke! I made a flip through of standard TN inserts long ago, but then I deleted it because it had too much personal info. I will go back and do a flip / review past inserts when I get back to filming. We're in the process of moving, but once I get settled I hope to make MANY videos :). The pen is called various things. I've heard Zebra Zensations Brush Pen, Zebra Disposable Brush Pen, and Zebra Fude Brush Pen. They're all the same thing, and I like the smallest tip size which is referred to as either Extra Fine or Super Fine depending on the store.

Is the stalogy made of Tomoe River original paper??? How many mm is each square in the grid??

Stalogy is not Tomoe River. Stalogy feels more “dry” and has a very slight tooth, while 52gsm Tomoe River is super smooth. The A5 Stalogy has a 4mm grid. Hope this helps!

Can a folded full size sheet of paper fit in the a5?

A folded letter sheet will be 5.5" x 8.5". It will certainly fit width-wise, but it might stick out the top depending on how tall the cover is.

How did you secure your pens on?

The Apple Pig traveler’s notebooks have flaps which fold in with pockets. On both the front and back, you end up with a little space where you can clip on a pen. I’m not sure if Ting designed it that way, but it works for the pens I use most often.

Your apple pig tn is made in China? how eco-friendly do you think that process is? lol

Thanks for watching. Apple Pig is a small studio in Taiwan where an artisan leather craftsman works directly with his customers to make custom items. He's a friend. That's quite different than ordering from a massive factory with undervalued workers, but I understand the concern that shipping from around the world has an environmental cost. We make choices. I'm okay with receiving a shipment from Apple Pig knowing I'll use the item every day, keep it for a lifetime, and pass it down to the next generation. In my decision-making process, that's different from single use plastics or chopping down old-forest trees to make notebook paper. It wouldn't hurt to reach out to my local community to see if anyone has the tools and knowledge to make traveler's notebooks. Until then, I'm happy to support talented small business owners elsewhere.

They’re sustainably sourced! So it’s okay! Apple Pig takes the skins of the animals used for meat, so that none of the animal goes to waste.

If worrying about trees to be used for notebooks, should be wise not to support animal agriculture... That would save much more trees 👍🏻

There isn’t a lot of non exotic leather out there that isn’t cast off from the meat industry. Cows are very expensive to grow, highly unlikely a cow hide didn’t come from an animal slaughtered for food.
