My CHEAP V6 Camaro Sounds Like A V10 After INSTALLING The Hooker RACE Exhaust

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I bought my $4,000 2011 Chevy Camaro RS with failed timing chains. After replacing the timing chains on the 3.6L LLT V6 it was timing to start modding it. 128,000 miles in the car is getting some SS touches and the Hooker Blackheart Race exhaust.

I've been watching this #CheapCamaro series and have been impressed about how you brought this beauty back to life. One thing I've noticed, or actually haven't noticed you doing is the the mod on the PCV system. If you don't do it you're going to find your now pristine clean heads all gunked-up with sludge again within about 30-40k miles. The GM 3.6 High Feature V6 are notorious for their heads gunking-up, which constricts oil flow and contributes to the timing chain / VVT / oil consumption issues. It's actually a simple mod where you enlarge the 3 holes on the PCV hose to valve cover connector (it looks like an old school PCV valve on the valve cover). While you're at it you might want to add a quality catch can to further aid in reducing the oil consumption issue. Look it up there are many tutorials for the mod online. Best of luck!

@Master Baiter sorry I was a little off, the 2011 and earlier LLT V6's were 312 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 278 pound-feet of torque at 5,200 rpm. The 2012+ V6 Camaros were rated at 323 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 278 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. with the removal of the exhaust manifolds, changed MAF sensors and other components to boost HP.

We're not into the same kind of stuff exactly but this series with the Camaro is in my wheelhouse. I'm into stuff like Derek does and off-road stuff. To be fair, again, the Camaro series is the first videos of yours I've seen but I'll be checking you out. Thanks.
