Elise and Frog in a Blender are two of my all time favorites. Another very favorite of mine are the Flamingo Caladiums. The pink is so intense in the Flamingo, it almost glows. This year I did a planter full of the sheer white and sheer pink and that came out just beautiful, so delicate.

She does have huge leaves on hers it may be because they're a couple years old and the bulb is bigger and of course it has to do with the great care and the grow light she has for them. They are related to the allocation colocasia and in the elephant ear family so they can grow in the right circumstances to have huge leaves

That Florida moonlight is just amazing and the size of those leaves is just stunning. Because I have such restricted light in my apartment all of mine are slower to take off but since adding them to my green house and putting them under my grow light they have finally decided to start growing and there is a lot happening finally with tons of growth on the way. Great video as per usual and cant wait to see which ones end up in that spectacular garden you have. Love your content as always its so inspirational. 🙂

But i do have a couple leaves on my Candidum and several shoots on my Frieda Hemple. Hoping for good size plants this year and maybe even bigger next year.

Jerry what happened when you planted your bulbs because they're very easy to get to grow. They don't like to be planted deep in the soil and until they actually sprout you really shouldn't do much except sprinkle a little water on the soil. When you plant the bulbs they don't have any roots to absorb the water so that's why you don't water them. You just sprinkle little water on the surface. The soil temperature can't get below 60 degrees or they start to rot especially if you thoroughly watered the pot. I grow mine here in America in the ground or in flower pots but the trick is they absolutely hate cold wet feet. If we have a rainy end of August they look beautiful and you hate to dig them up to store them for next year but you have to. If you don't when they finally start to show signs of going dormant they're already rotted in the ground. They like to dry out between waterings. I had some from last summer and I just left them in their pots enjoyed them in the house after I brought them in from outside when the weather got too cold. They then went dormant so every once in awhile I sprinkled a little water on them just to keep them from drying out completely. They have now sprouted backup and I may do a video and the next couple days and post on my channel. Hannah's caladium so beautiful and she's very successful with them inside which most people are not because they are really outside tropical plants.

They can grow big on small pots just like any alocasia ,to big pot they get root rot, do not go by leave size just go buy tuber size ,2 inches around space bigger than the tuber you got , just make shure tge pot is deep so roots can grap a good grip and wont flip over wen the leaves grow to big .

Try growing them outside in a flower pot over the summer. Then when they die back and go to rest and go dormant just leave them alone give them a Sprinkle or two of water every once in a while and in the spring they will come back again. They don't really die they go dormant when they don't like conditions unless you've made them cold and Soggy in the pot then they will rot. But don't throw them away if the bulb is still hard it's still alive just hibernating so to speak

Amazing caladiums! I bought two bulbs from Farmer Gracy, planted them on the 29th April. Still nothing yet. Not sure if I’m being a little impatient or if they have not had the right conditions. 😅 I fear I might have overwatered them initially and not placed in a warm enough position. They are currently on a south facing warm window sill, fingers crossed they haven’t rotted 🤞🏼🌱

Min didn't do well in the house. I put them outside but they all flopped over so I cut them down. Three are coming up so I expect the rest will too. They're in a shady spot, I'm hoping for more leaf and less stem this time.

Just make sure you don't let them get wet and Soggy especially if the temperature gets below 60 degrees Fahrenheit they will rot in the pot. I have grown them for years in the ground and lately I have been just growing them in pots and then bringing them inside and letting them go dormant. I'm going to do a video online and the next couple days and post them on KZread

Caladium are tricky , this is my 4 attemp at growing them in a cover patio ,I had to put grow light full expectrum aboved them but not to close to have leaft grow espace otherwise the leaves will burn ,ouside is to hot for them , You got to find the proper soil mixt that stay moist but drain well I had to make my own ,with perlite ,lava rock ,cow manure and worm casting . Like 70 porcent perlite and 30 of the rest . I have one that is down okayish ,I have another one wich is doing very good and flowering and I have anotherone tgat is doing amazing ,there were experiments because last year I kill them all .The thing is that growers are hibridizing the caladiums to be able to take more sun ,(but not Texas kind of sun) that is to much , but if you put them in shade they also don't do well because of the genetic change , my grow lights are on for 20 hours a day ,only 4 rest period.

This is the second video I’ve seen of yours and your Caladiums. They are absolutely beautiful!!! I recently got a red flash but it’s still quite small. I’m trying to get them bigger and stronger (their stems are quite thin and some need to be tied to a stake). I notice also that one leaf tip is browning and yellowing going inward deeper to the leaf? What would you say is the cause of this? I also haven’t gotten my watering schedule right I think. It came in a small pot, and when I do the finger test and the moisture meter, I’d have to water every other day? I’m not sure if that’s excessive? But I do notice it drains out the home fairly well and quickly when I water it? Any opinions or recommendations? 😊

By the way, I live in the Philippines in south east Asia so I’m in a tropical country. I recently got a grow light too and use it when the monsoons start because there isn’t much sunlight. I keep my caladium (and other plants) completely indoors by a north facing window. Hoping for your advice 😊

I usually plant one large bulb or a couple of small ones together in the same pot… I should be planting mine up this week or next week so keep an eye out for the video. I usually don’t plant them up until March but I’m going to start them under a grow light this year
