It feels like the story of Justin--a washed-up, former High School star athlete--who has been struggling to find a direction in life. After a trail of failed careers, he finally hits on inspiration: a mentorship program for teens. With the help of his two younger brothers--who return to their hometown from the Big Cities where they made it big, unlike him--he hopes to guide these youths and leave them better prepared than he was. Tensions bubble between the brothers, for all that they make talk about the importance of loved ones to their mentees, resentment and old wounds and their fraying relationships make it clear that the three aren't as close as they used to be. Certainly not as close as they wish they were. They're prepared to give up on thr program and part ways, back to their distant relationship, when--tragedy strikes. Their father falls ill. And now, the McElroy brothers must confront what it really means to be a family.

just watching the split second clip of justin crying ALONE OUT OF CONTEXT is making me sob
@astrobat57583 жыл бұрын
If this was a real movie with fictional characters, these are the vibes I get from the trailer: A twist of fate brings the McElroy brothers back together after Justin loses his job in the city and moves back to their hometown. However, things aren’t the same as they were when they were kids - Justin is at odds with Griffin, who was content to stay in their small town and is satisfied with his job as a high school teacher. Travis, who is stuck in the middle, tries desperately to keep the family together even though he always dreamed of moving away and making it big as an actor. Their father Clint and the town’s mayor both watched the brothers grow up, but know that they have to step away and let them figure out what kind of life they want to live on their own. The McElroys will have to work out their differences, revisit their childhood, and figure out what it truly means to be a family.

those high expectations remind me of something. I dunno, i guess you could say they feel familiar, but not too familiar.
All The Most Emotional Moments 0:04 "I'm a breadwinner now for, uh, our family" 0:10 "I feel like this isn't gonna work out" 0:13 "Are you serious with this shit? In front on my family?" 0:26 "He's gone. He's out- He's gone." 0:45 "Oh, they are their dad's son, aren't they?" 0:50 "So this is where it all happened" "I remember coming to all your games" 1:15 "Is there anything we can do to make them hear us?" 1:35 "Why are you here with me?" 1:37 "What the fuck have you done?" 1:39 "It's so important that you be safe" 1:44 [I need a miracle] 2:04 "I don't mean to get too real, but I love you very much" 2:11 "Oh, speak to me Huntington.." 2:17 "Yeah, I love you" "I love you too" "I love both of you boys" "I love you both" 2:23 [THE TEAR] 2:24 "You know, Travis, you've been looking all around Huntington for a miracle, but, I think it's been right in front of you this whole time" 2:30 "It happened.. I lost my boy.." Enjoy crying!

just watching the split second clip of justin crying ALONE OUT OF CONTEXT is making me sob
The fact that this masterpiece got posted 2 years ago and I'm only just now seeing it is a criminal crime. This was incredible, your work brought me so much joy!
You really need to know how genuinely good this video is. 👋🏻👋🏻 great job!
Even in the regular TV show, when they start telling each other how they love each other I'm just a mess, but this took it to another level. This was fantastic!
This is the COMPLETE opposite tone of the series but is so PERFECTLY done!!! 10/10
This is from an alternate universe where they were all theater majors and their dad was a film director
When Travis did a hit, that should've been in here. But damn this was good
Tonally this is indistinguishable from Succession
It's one of those contemplative "hidden inner tragedy" / "possible emotional escalation into a murder" flicks that always get nominated because the performances and story are stellar but never wins anything. And that's the energy the normal McElboys have in the realm of comedy.
Alternate title: Speak to me, Huntington And that voice clip plays over a fade-in-from-black title card
Its amazing how many different ways you can use "they are their dad's sons"
The last episode of the series was more heartwarming, beautiful, sweet and tear-jerking than any Oscar winning film I’ve seen.
Why did I tear up at "They are their dad's son"?
2:18 “get that Oscar juice flowin’!”
Can these wild boys save Huntington before all is lost?
So before I saw any mbmbam content, I saw this being shared on tumblr and someone was like "imagine having no idea who these guys are and seeing this" and I don't think anything could've prepared me for the difference
This is criminally underrated... I'm crying rn sheet this is incredibly well edited and ill be honest, make me want an emotional McElroy movie
So is this the AU of where they didn’t do comedy but they did dramatic bullshit.
WHY IS THIS PERFECT? THIS TRAILER DESERVES AN OSCAR.
This is amazing. This is truly amazing. You have done an incredible thing with this thing that you did. I'm sharing this with everyone.
this is how im getting my friends into the podcast from now on
I can tell you did a good job because i started dissociating in order to remove myself from the emotions it made me fell
song is Olympus by Ross Bugden in love with this film, this piece of cinema
this video in and of itself deserves an oscar. u did a fabulous job, my friend
I was like, oh, this thing from two years ago will be funny and such. Little did I know it would MOVE ME TO TEARS.
WHAT GENIUS MADE THIS. This is incredible. Holy crap. GREATJOB
PLEASE make a version of this that is completely the same but with a different title, I want to trick my friend into thinking this is real SO MUCH
I can't believe I'm only now seeing this absolute masterpiece
This is really, really, well made.
For some reason "It's so important that you be safe" in particular had me cackling
These boys deserve a movie
I hope the brothers have seen this. This is really good actually.
I saw this pop up in my recs and I thought, 'goddammit I have to watch this and love it now.'
You deserve all the awards for this... Beautiful.

I have no idea what the plot of this hypothetical movie is but I’m here for it.
This LOOKS like an A24 film, I'm not gonna lie.
I can’t I just can’t this was so well done and I’m not sure how to react
wait... this was genuinely SO GOOD!!!
The Dolby Atmos Mix was great. Also amazing CGI, you can barely tell Griffin‘s hair is not real.
Every so often I like to return to my favourite video on KZread
