My British Gas Mask/Respirator collection
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
A video on my entire British gas mask/respirator collection.
There are a lot of respirators to cover in this video so it ended up being over 40 minutes long!
Before anyone asks nearly all these masks were purchased on eBay, so if you want them, look on eBay.
Masks in the video are:
WW1 PH Gas Hood (Replica)
WW2 British civilian respirator
Civilian Duty respirator
"Mickey Mouse" children's respirator
Mark 4 General Service Respirator
Mark 5 General Service Respirator
Mark 6/Light anti-gas Respirator MK1
Light anti-gas Respirator MK2
S6 respirator
C7 Civilian respirators
Avon S10 respirator
Siebe Gorman BM-13E-18 supplied-air respirator
Scott GSR (General Service Respirator)
Avon FM12 Respirator (Single filter version)
Avon CT12 Respirator.

Yeah this video had about 15 masks in it, if I did my entire collection and spent a similar time on each mask the video would be around 3-4 hours, which would drain an entire camera battery to film and also take an entire day to render, better to break them up via nation.

I'm an antique collector not a military enthusiast, so I don't know much. But I gotta say that I'd say up until the cold war our Canadian uniforms were near identical to the ones used in the UK, except that our WW2 gas masks masks were exactly the same as the ones used in the UK at througout the war, but we never really adopted the M45 concept until the cold war era. Our modern C4 gas masks are... Kind of look like the S10s, but the similarities are quite limited. Anyway I absolutely love your content. I actually forgot to subscribe, which made me feel terrible. I wonder if the MoD's intent with that positive-pressure firefighter's mask in 40mm was to have the posibility of making the airline system compatible with their standard gas mask? Although, this does seem like a long way around to if that was the intent...

Cristian Svensson The thing with the BCD though is that you can convert it without breaking it. The lenses literally are meant to be screwed off, and there’s a reusable clamp to take the filter out. Non of those “breaks” the mask

Brihis gas mask MK-1 is good but what's name this filter?
@Weaponsandstuff93

The original filters are old and not safe, so I always use them with either the Canadian 60mm filters the C3 used or the Finnish M61 filters
What beach was your grand father in? Sword Gold, I’ve been taking with a fellow named Jim Parks who was on Juno (Canadian 3rd Infantry) he is 97 and still doing great, text him all the time.
I have a Canadian C3 and the weird thing that I've noticed is that rubber on the nose part of the mask is actually shaped like the rubber on the civilian duty respirator. It's got a triangular spot there for seemingly no reason when the earlier LAG masks don't. It looks like the civilian duty respirator exhale valve would go there.

And was thinking about getting one just incase some crap goes down and splashes the fan. Thinking it would be a great addition to my preps. Thanks for everything you do.
@Weaponsandstuff93
6 жыл бұрын
Most modern military masks would work fine against pretty much all chemical threats, important thing is the filter. You'd need either an ABEK-P3 filter or a CBRN filter. Masks like the Avon S10, CT12 and FM12 are all very good due to being well made, comfortable and relatively easy to find for sale.
