My Breathing Adjustment Keeps Turning?

@chrisphilhower6029
Hello Mark. Recently I purchased my First set of New Equipment. Had my Tank filled. Tested my BCD LPI. The SPG. Tried my Genesis Prana Regs. Octo was fine. My Question is about the Venturi Control on the Prana main Reg. When I first tried to breath(Surface) I noticed the Knob keeps turning in both directions. Is that Normal??

    Good stuff to review from time to time especially with so many new products every year. Thanks, Mark.

    #askmark A month ago I get my dry suit certification, so I wonder which dry suit would you recommend. I saw the Avatar 101, but when I told the dive center about, he told me, he wouldn't recommend cheap trimilate dry suits, because you would need to buy another one within two years. I thought about a neoprene dry suit, since you got a lot of experiance you may know which one would be best for a fair price.

    Red light can be useful because many marine species can't see red light and it won't disturb them as much as an intense white light. Handy for photographers to line-up shots without disturbing fish before the flash and for maintaining low-light vision. Some blue wavelengths, between 440-480 nanometers, can stimulate bioluminescence that can be seen with a filter. If it's not made for bioluminescence then it's for penetration. Blue light travels the furthest through water but, no further than white light. Green doesn't have much use other than penetration. Green light can penetrate fairly well through water and be distinguishable from blue or white. Other than communication, I can't see much use of green light underwater.

    @@benheckendorn2696 Yeah, KZread has been acting up with me recently with comments... I really like the Avatar drysuits but, if you're looking at neoprene: I spent a lot of time in a Waterproof D10 while I was teaching. Waterproof aren't cheap but, they make good drysuits. For neoprene I think of O'Three and NDiver. They make suits for commercial divers so they have sensible prices and customisations.

    @@ScubaDiverMagazineWell the Avatar looks great, I really thought about it, but someone said: don't buy, it can't be great if it's this cheap, it wouldn't least more then two years. I got a Waterproof neoprene, I really like it, but when I talked about their dry suits, my dive shore said: we had many problems with their boots, so we stopped sell them.

    #askmark I just purchased a new tank and I had a question about installing the valve. I have watched videos on installing the valve with a small amount of 02 safe grease on the first couple threads. Is this correct and is it absolutely necessary?

    I try to follow the manufacturers instructions and most that I've come across recommend a light coating of O2 grease to help prevent galvanic action.

    Assuming you are referring to a left upper-arm/shoulder Automatic Exhaust Valve, rather than a wrist one? When changing from an Si Tech to Apeks, was the rubber port valve on the suit also changed? As they are usually different enough that the Apeks wont seal correctly on a Si Tech seal. Also, the anti friction washer could be damaged causing the seal to not be water-tight. I usually use a small amount of glue to the rubber seal when fitting an Apeks Exhaust Valve to ensure a water-tight seal.
