Small Tip...The air your forcing in those holes with the air mover is wet air {humidity} You need to place a dehumidifier in the boat and pipe the air from the exhaust into the side of the air mover so evaporation will occur..Remember, you want evaporation, and then evacuation of the moist laden air..a space heater will also speed up evaporation..Heat equals energy equals evaporation..Good luck

It took me about a month to dry out my 18ft Carolina skiff. After you get it mostly dry I suggest adding a vent either a 1 inch standard drain plug or do like I did and use a 1 inch captive garboard drain plug. I also am planning on adding a 1 inch standard plug under the center console and used a bit extender to drill through the internal bulkheads to that point. The idea is when Its out of the water I can open the drain and remove the plug and let it air dry using the suns heat. I am pretty sure the water got into mine from screw holes in the floor the under side was solid though it does have one repair. Thats the only bad thing about the Carolina skiff design other wise they are really solid boats. I can't wait to see your fishing videos with it!!!

I would strip it back to fiber glass and run cross stringer then fill it back with foam and reglass a deck back on it. Totally worth the 400 bucks

I’m in the process of negotiating for a Carolina 16 myself. It’s dirty and looks rough but your videos are motivating me for what may soon come my way. If I can get it, I’m planning on making deck size improvements and weld up a poling platform. Keep it up 👍👍

I bought a 1972 16' Starcraft V hull for 400. It was rotted out all the way. I cleaned her down to aluminum. I poured foam leaving a channel down the middle for water. No problems. She glides with a new 30 Suzuki.👍

Drill some holes between the floor and btm of the boat in the transome, stand it up on the transom against a tree with a chain fall and all the water will drain out. After that plug the holes and you got a dry hull.

@@KollynJ The glass repair guy made holes and let the hot sun heat the deck which helped But Because the boat is made up of different logs he had to cut holes in every different log area! I think he also pressurized each area with air that forced the water out of the bottom holes! I know that the hull picked up 4 miles per hour so it was a lot of weight! We kept the boat 5 years longer so it worked out! The guy had the boat for 2 weeks so it was not a quick job!

Have a 2008 19DLX. My Opinion! The horizontal stringers need to be replaced with "longitudinal" to allow water to drain to the bilge pimp. This requires separating the hulls. No screws in top hull "fiber glass" top hull. I had over 700 pounds of water/saturated floatation foam. The water can't be drained any other way and the "wet flotation foam" will never work.
