Thank you! And we really did have such a fun time. We were not expecting to see our friends, but seeing them was really the icing on the cake. Such a fun day (not including the slight pain of a little nose piercing haha)

Hahaha I (Thomas) have a slight allergy to dogs and the airbnb we stayed in had some dogs in the other half of the house - so it was a pretty rough morning for me haha

This looked like a lovely way to spend your birthday! Blood orange mimosas are the best mimosas, great choice 😄 The bbq place must have sensed it was Ruth's birthday and given you the fire seat 🙂

We had never had blood orange mimosas before but they really are the way to go! Haha I know! Ruth had just been complaining about how cod she was and then we walked right in and one of the last seats available was right in front of the fire!!

Haha It was definitely a little spontaneous.. Ruth had mentioned wanting to get a nose ring before to me (Thomas) but always in a vague "maybe sometime in the future" tone. But the birthday girl woke up and immediately decided on the spot that she was going to get her nose pierced, then she mentioned it to our friend and she said she would gladly do it with Ruth 😆😆 I think it really motivated her once she did the math and realized that almost 50% of our friends had a pierced nose haha

French Brunch sounds amazing with Blood Orange Mimosa and Latte that is SO BIG! Love the history behind the bowl. Yummy beignets too! It's pronounced steak FREEEETS. YAY TO NOSE PIERCING! Never heard of HOT CHICKEN, but looks yummy too! Tomas is so sleepy in the video at the blooper HAHA.

Hahaha yeah, we've seen the word "frites" in a lot of places and have never known how to pronounce it haha And if you ever get the chance, we really liked the hot chicken we got! - although we've heard that every place does "hot chicken" differently so I can't guarantee that it's that good every where you go haha ... SO. SLEEPY.

Yes! You remembered correctly! We are so slow at editing that this vlog was actually the next day after we arrived in Nashville. We still have one more vlog to post to finish up the 10-day road trip and then we will be almost all caught up. We've had a few big life changes over the past month and have been so busy so we have a few more videos we need to edit 😬🤣And Elvi, your comments are always so sweet and thoughtful - they mean a lot to us and make us smile 😊

Hahaha Ruth's dad was a vegan and her parents were pretty health-conscious when she was growing up so she was only allowed to eat bacon one day out of the year - her birthday! So now it's become a tradition of ours where we try to find at least one way to consume bacon for her birthday haha Thanks for watching, guys!

The lady was so nice! I (Thomas) definitely should have made a reservation, but was told that you didn't always need one - so I thought we'd take the chance, but yeah, should have reserved a table. Ruth said it hurt quite a bit, but the worst part has just been that the ring rotates a little bit and can be rather annoying. And YES, I woke up that morning FEELING like I had been punched in the face. I have a slight allergy to dogs and unfortunately there were a few dogs staying in the same house that had our airbnb so it just made my face really swollen and puffy. At least it went away after awhile!

Blood orange mimosa? Wow. My mom’s best friend once treated her to a Four Seasons Hotel drink - Campari & blood orange juice. Best mixed drink they - or I - have ever had.

Happy 27th Ruth (congrats on the nose piercing 😁)!!! ...and now the profound question: "What kind of BBQ place is outta pork?" Indeed...what kind??? Pulled chicken??? Aye yaaa... I couldn’t believe they had no extra pigs on hand they coulda slaughtered! But I guess that’s what we get for going out to eat at 9:00 at night… 🤷🏼‍♂️.. but the chicken was seriously tasty so we were not complaining at all. The food really wrapped up the day deliciously! And YES. We have a buyer lined up, contracts have been signed, inspections and repairs have been done - and all we’re waiting on are the appraisal and bank stuff. But once that’s taken care of, we can move out officially and start looking at booking flights to begin our year of travel! 😬😁

(provided we don't experience another global pandemic and aliens don't take over the world) - we will be traveling internationally and not coming back to the US for at least the year of 2022! Our hope is to stretch our money as far as it'll take us, so we have no concrete plans but are thinking we'll start in SE Asia/ somewhere with a really low cost of living and see where we end up after that!

@@RuthandThomas At the current rate of things, aliens taking over the world has a decent probability👽😮. Have you guys been to SE Asia before? If not, it's awesome! I'm sure you guys are doing your due diligence... just make sure to keep track of entry requirements. They seem to change weekly because of covid. As far as I know, Thailand is the only country currently open in SE Asia (last I checked Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodian, etc all closed...actually you might be able to get into Indonesia). There's definitely a lot more paperwork (and money involved) to enter Thailand right now. Good luck and looking forward to your travel adventures!

I don't know if I can rock the nose piercing as well as Ruth... and shoot, I probably should have at least gotten a tattoo while I was there. Maybe something to commemorate Nashville, like a massive cowboy hat and guitar across my back.. Ooh! I could have shaved my head and gotten a cowboy hat tattooed on the top so it looks like I'm always wearing one or gotten a massive guitar on my belly so it looks like I'm always playing... definitely something to keep in mind next time I'm in Nashville...
